I do not own the rights to this video - Zábava
when Michael Jackson himself says he likes your cover better than his you know you've done well
BOOOOOOOOOM! The King approves!
Didn't know how he felt about it but that's makes me happy lol 🤣
Did he really?
And that's exactly what Michael said! Look it up
Oh my god WHAT? Michael Jackson himself said my all time favourite song was better than his own version of it? wow man that's a huge honour!!!!
AAF sent this video to Michael Jackson for approval before they released it. He liked it all but the kid dancing with the mask on. So they remade the part with the kid dancing without the mask and sent it back to him. He ended up liking the mask better.
💗 💖 💘 💝 💟 ☮️
🤣🤣why’s that so funny to me “nah put the mask back on”
@@adrianadreaaamer6456 HAHAHA *sees the face of the kid* "Goddamn, yo kno what, the mask was better" x'D
That kids name is Bobby Edner.
Sadly he never got to see it. It came out 2 months after he died.
That's a tribute song. One of the best in any genre of music. Also, so much of Michael's signature stuff was inserted into the clip. dancing, the yell with grabbing himself, moonwalking, the lean, high-pitched cries, the Thriller...
I genuinely don't understand how so many reactors miss these references.
AAF were huge pop fans, and fans of MJ. They just happened to play a harder style of music. This was a total tribute to MJ, as I'm sure others have said. Great cover.
Took my son to see Papa Roach and AAF was the opening act. It blew me away. I grew up during the Jackson 5 and MJ's solo career. AAF honored Michael so much for their cover. If you ever seen MJ's videos, you might notice all of the nods during this video to the King of Pop.
I actually think from memory that MJ had a hand in making this he was all for the cover
💗 💖 💘 💝 💟 ☮️
@@joshd2013 they sent MJ the song and video for approval before it was released 🙏
@@Group_Anonymous there you go I knew he had something to do with it thanks for the info 😊
Listen to In Bloom by Nirvana, Crazy Train and Bark at the moon by Ozzy Osborne, Faint by Linkin Park, and Everlong by Foo Fighters.
I wanna party with that bassist.
This video amazes me every time i see it.
Actual this band was big Micheal Jackson fan. They absolutely loved him and his songs and played them. After their band started to grow its fan base they realized that (after doing Smooth Criminal cover) there fan base loved Micheal too.
I call this one a tribute more than a cover. It's so good and pays homage. Love it. They are rock. :)
I am a fan of weird cross genre covers. Rock songs done as country songs, metal songs done as bluegrass, alternative rock done as post modern jazz.
It's all fun, it's all good
Practically every bit of this video is a tribute to MJ. There is a MJ reference in every scene...some subtle, some blatant, some a mix of both. Dunno how many times I've watched this one, but it seems I spot something new every time (caught the drummer with a glove on towards the end this time, dunno how I missed it before, lol).
Thought he reached for a bottle of jack lol for a second lol
Yup, this is a cover of Michael Jackson
If you really look, you'll see a ton of references to Michael Jackson, such as the drummer wearing a white glove on his right hand and a number of other things
Hell yeah, the lighted sidewalk, the glove chair, the chimp, the smoke behind him, the screaming on the car!! I forgot how funny this video was, great remake too.
They grew up on Michael Jackson like anyone who was born in the 70’s or 80’s ,MJ holds a special place in my heart because I was named after him for the wishes of my oldest sister who died 3 months before I was born
If I remember reading correctly, Michael Jackson actually got ahold of them and thoroughly enjoyed this version.
They paid great homage to mj on this one. Between not really changing the song and putting so many mj references in the video. I’m sure mj was proud of this
Very rarely do you find a cover better and cooler than the original.
Here's that rare moment. 😎
This, Man Who Sold the World - Nirvana and Hurt - Johnny Cash
@@reianable Nice selection 👍
With a little help from my friends by Joe Cocker annihilates the original
@@rivertam7827 Okay... well played. 😎
*^^^* 🔥🎶💖
Basically it was a love letter from the band to Michael Jackson celebrating his music. If you're familiar with the Michael Jackson videos there are so many references to those in this it's awesome.
It's a cover song, and a damn good one at that. That's how covers work. It's not cheating. lol They pay homage to MJ all throughout the video as well.
Such a good cover! Love watching your reactions!
Watching him come to the realization that it was a Michael Jackson cover was hilarious.
Listen to "Run to the Hill by Iron Maiden" great range of vocals
Yes!! Great tune, and with Clive Burr on drums.👍👍
What about hallowed be thy name
👎🏻
This was my FAVORITE song back in the day in early 2000s! Back when lol linkin park and system of a down were at their highest peak career wise! It's seriously SO underrated. And MJ actually gave them the green light to remix his smooth criminal song! So they had the King of Pop's blessing! 🙏
Long story but worth it. When Attack of the Clones came out my father in law flew in from NY to take us. The scene where Anakin gets thrown from beast on Naboo and Padme asks "Annie are you ok?" My FIL leans over and sings this song in my ear. I lost it. 20 yrs later I cannot hear this song without thinking about it. Love from Knoxville TN
Brain Stew/Jaded by Green Day, or literally anything by Green Day (pre-2010s)
Don't you mean anything from 1990 to "MAYBE" ,and I stress maybe, the NIMROD album. Went downhill after that. Got whiney sounding.
YESS GREEN DAY
@@hughmann1537 1,039 smoothed out slappy hours is a good album.
They did a song called These Days, in the video they crashed the BET award red carpet, it's worth a watch.
THIS!!! 👍🤘🔥
I am curious if you caught all the M Jackson visual references throughout the video? I assume you did?? The lighted sidewalk, the pet monkey, facemask, silver glove chair, forward lean, crotch grab, the scream, wolf head, up blowing smoke, and on and on.
Good reaction. Sucks we'll never have more MJ music. They didn't turn it into a rock song, it was already a rock song ;)
True
Love your reactions
This are my first listen to this group aswell so LFR jojo thanks for the introduction 👍🏻
Bro u gotta listen to the scorpions, listen to rock h like a hurricane or no one like you. Both equally great, listen to both back to back cos they are so f-ing GOOD!
“Oh that was quick”. Had me rolling
Have always loved this version! You should also try “Movies”.
Yes!! One of my favorites!! That bass player is a funny guy but damn good on the bass. They have some killer songs.
This is a jam I grew up with lol. This song prompted me to buy the album this came with - and was not disappointed.
Great review brother!
This is my favourite song of all time, maybe the era it came out in, I dunno but out every song I will ever hear in my life THIS is my most favourite one of all time
I love how when they walk on the sidewalk it glows just like the stuff micheal touches in billie jean
Awesome song glad you got turned on to it!!!
Omg it’s crazy, when this came out I remember thinking how unique and quirky the surgical mask was. I forgot all about it when I watched in 2023 and it look completely normal…until I remembered it came out in 2001 lmfao so surreal
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
My personal favorite part of this video was the chimp. I remember Bubbles, Michael's chimp he had back in the day.
Hi, JoJo :)
I don't know if you have a Hot Topic store in your local mall, but they play music like this in there... 90s-2000s alternative punk metal. There's a series if albums starting with "Punk Goes" that is filled with covers like this... classic rock, metal, pop, r&b, you name it. And some of them are really good covers.
This drooped 2009, I was 14 and this Cover was everywhere.
It's make me feel so old when songs have reaction videos by kids that weren't even born or were too young to remember when it first came out like this literally feels like 2 minutes ago to me 😭
We're old
You have a better break down of this cover than most grown people. Respect man.
The amount of references to MJs music vids was mind blowing!
That's the mark of a good song it can be slotted into different genres with little tweaks.
"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness." Oscar Wilde.
Have always loved this cover. Loved the original. Still do, both. The MJ easter eggs in the video are fantastic!
Loved it.😄😄❤️
I gotta say, seeing all these people just find this cover kinda makes me feel old due to it being EVERYWHERE when it came out.
They did this song justice! This is the one on my playlist!
Please do either “I remember you” or “Youth gone wild” by skid row, I’m gonna do this on every video until you do .-.
Hell yeah. Both
Don't forget 18 and life!
So many references to so many MJ vids and life in this, they truly paid homage with this video and cover.
The drummer is a good friend of MJ's drummer. MJ said it's cool. He actually liked their version.
Props to them. Making MJ proud.
Alien Ant Farm also sings a song called Movies...its good
The video itself is a total homage to Michaels Jackson and his videos. They take a little element out of Michael Jackson's videos and put it all in this music video
I loved me some AAF back in HS. I think, especially back in the day, this was classified as "Alternative" but the simpler answer is to say "Rock" using the very wide brush that paints with. Keep in mind though, this is a cover of MJ's version, so it could even have a secondary "Pop" label too. If you're interested in more from the band, I would recommend "Movie" and "Summer" from the same album as this. [Athology] as a whole was a really solid set of songs.
This was pure tribute the king.
GUNS N ROSES - DONT DAMN ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The tune bops. from day one. Can't hide it. AAF (Pop, Punk) recognized, that and MJ himself is said to have blessed this treatment.
Sidenote: This is literally the ONLY AAF song that i fw, iibh.
Underrated band. Tons of good music.
Here's some Australian Rock bands, choose any man, us Aussies have some bangers that are just as good as American stuff
Cold Chisel - Khe Sanh or Cheap Wine
Ian Moss - Tuckers Daughter
Midnight Oil - Beds are Burning or Blue Sky Mine
INXS - Need You Tonight or Don't Change
Hoodoo Gurus - What's My Scene
Paul Kelly - To Her Door
Richard Clapton - Girls on the Avenue
David Garrett - ‘smooth criminal’, it will blow your mind🤯
Good job, Tnx!!!
How is it you haven't done Aerosmith Walk this Way with RUN DMC?
I second this motion.
Though covers mean respect this was a total homage to Michael and his impact on music.
Imho, if you’re going to do a fast-paced/rock-vibe cover of a Michael Jackson song, this is how you do it!🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻
There are so many easter eggs and nods to MJ's fan base and videos. In clouding BUBBLES. It is a great remake. MJ like the song so much, he gave them permission before release. Then they wanted to do a video for it. Because of the song, he m let them do what ever they wanted for the video.
Yo. This song was my freshman year of high school. Big feels. 🤙🏻
This video is a homage to the phenomenal Michael Jackson....you can see all the Easter eggs in this video. As others have said, MJ loved the rendition and approved of the video.
I'm with you man....
If you like metal, check out In This Moment,'s "Whore", "Big Bad Wolf", "As Above So Below" several others. They are amazing.
You may also want to check out Slipknot's "Yen".
Check out Alien Ant Farm's song Courage.. I first discovered it on a snowboarding video game's soundtrack. It's sooooo good!
Nazareth - Hair of the Dog is a classic song you really need to listen to, the whole album rocks
I think they also sing. Love hurts
@@lindamowday5588 yep
MJ freed Art, for all of humanity. SWYW.
Just a different genre paying homage to a legend. RIP MJ
Their video "Movies" is really cool
Imitation is the greatest form od flattery. 😊
Vh1 said the original name of this song wasAl Capone .! Bothversions are awesome ...
That kid was dancing in front of the Jackson house where Micheal grew up.
Sorry but that's not the house
If you liked this, you should check out Fall Out Boy’s cover of MJ’s “Beat It”.
Michael Jackson really enjoyed this cover, he loved it
Little man was in his bag though with them moves

The best cover ever.. Disturbed - Sound of Silence
Featured in movie American Pie
AAF slayed that cover
How about some Hot Aktion Cop? "Fever for the Flava"? ..... Nice bottle btw!
💗 💖 💘 💝 💟 ☮️!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love this SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!! Great reaction too!!!!
Micheal loved their version
I'm pretty sure that this was always a rock song!? M.J. was definitely on the Rock side of Pop; especially at this point in his career. Eddie Van Halen played for him on, "Beat It"! "Dirty Diana","Black or White","Bad": all Rock songs!
I've only been following you for about a month now but I haven't noticed anyone recommend you react to U2. I think you'd like Sunday, Bloody Sunday.
Hahaha. Yes bro. It's a cover. A good one, a funny one.
There's references to all of the major mj videos in this on video
Check out The Weeknd’s cover of Dirty Diana. He sounds JUST like MJ. It’s just called DD.
