SATURDAY SURPRISE! I wanted to bring a bonus review for today with the first drive of the i-FORCE MAX powered 2024 Tacoma Limited. Let me know what you think about it in the comments section and if you think Toyota priced themselves out of the market.
Yes I believe they have. It's a lot of money for relatively unproven powertrain.
At least for me
Thank you for your" Saturday Surprise" Very cool!
@@ericl7519that is a good point
@@ericl7519you are so very welcome!
I'd like to see Raiti start zonking these car companies on prices.
For the low low price of 55K MSRP... eek
It’s pricey for sure!
It’s insane what they’re charging….
23 limited 4*4 was 46-48 k depending on options, had literally 10-20% of the options you get here.
@@Mycameron2323 Enjoy your 60K 4 cylinder Taco man!
@@Mycameron2323 … 2023 models will outlast the 2024
When Toyota fan boys say it’s too expensive you know you done messed up Toyota
Get a base truck then it's called having variance
I have to zonk that price, Toyota has gone crazy, I can’t even imagine the prices for the new 4Runner!
That's a truck that looks like it's worth about $30K
Yes because you’re living in 2005
I trust you haven't seen the new Ford Ranger then.
@@layne4376 I have seen the new Ford Ranger and that looks like a $35K truck
Haha there are no trucks for that price my son!
Nope. WAY overpriced.
WAY.
@@benjaminbrown7127
That’s a good looking truck! Not too squared off, not too round.
I totally agree with you David!
I was so excited for these I really was going to buy one. The reliability reports from people on these and the new Tundras (which was the #1 reason to be a Toyota owner...which I am) Now a 50k Tacoma that is 4 cylinder and made in Mexico? (V6 has been killed) I appreciate that they have factories in the US I don't want to downplay that, but I will not be buying this.
Tacoma has been in Mexico for years now
Yes!!! My favourite trim level and my favourite tgna-f tacoma color. Thanks again Joe!!!
Love your reviews, but Toyota has lost their mind with these prices.
Go feature for feature on other trucks, can't have everything and less price
Actually considering the build of this model trim along with the adaptive suspension and smoother all-time four-wheel-drive and add the hybrid and $10,000 less than a Trd pro even though it’s not an off-road capable at that level most don’t do that anyway especially myself. I consider this probably the best value of all the models
Excellent points
Great point but for me it’s the TRD Off-road Premium with a hybrid I think it’s about 10,000 less than the Pro and you get the offroad stuff that may not be on the limited. Limited is more for shopping lol
$55k you are in raptor territory…. None of these tacos can come close to the new ranger raptor in capability. The full time 4x4 does not have 4 auto what a joke. The hybrid battery sits in a tub so good look getting into any kind of water.
@@marklihsu what if one just needs a truck to also do some truck stuff for a couple of years? Raptor, Pro, Bison more niche stuff. If I want a Raptor I don’t think I will look anywhere else vice versa
I live in the PNW and this limited hybrid trim is the BEST truck. Fulltime 4wd. Not 4 auto. By the time 4 auto kicks in your tail is already loose in inclement weather.
Joe and Lori and Steve keep up the good work real true and I love the video 👍
I am glad that you liked this one.
the only luxury is the price.
I like what you did there
@@RaitisRides Thank you and your crew for all you do!
Versatile truck. I bet it was fun to drive that around the hills of San Diego. I am from the northwest and haven't been down there since I was a kid visiting Grandma. Brought back some memories. ☮️💙
Used to live out near Julian/Crest/Harbison Canyon. I'm guessing you got the truck from El Cajon Toyota. We love you out here in Oregon!
The Tacoma Limited is a beautiful truck. I love it in Super Sonic Red.
That color is fire
I would like to see the value oriented people at Toyota who designed the new hybrid Camry get involved with designing a new Tacoma.
right they dropped the price $500
They are cashing in on the Tacoma bros that's it.
These wheels are fantastic, both design and the chrome to bring added flair to the supersonic red.
So glad that you like this one Suzanne.
Jesus christ. A 2024 Taco is finally the equivalence of 5 Rolex watch purchases. Insane..
A whole lotta ZONKS Joseph but I’m definitely “pickin up what you’re throwing down”! 😊👍🏻
Hey Joe This Toyota Tacoma This is Awesome Truck
I really had a good feeling you would like it!
Yes of course & I would try to buy this truck.
That’s so awesome to hear!
That elbow trick you did earned you a like on this video Joe lol
One little tid bit is like to point out, the 2016 wasnt the first year for the compostie bed. It was actually the 2nd gen starting in 2005 that got the carbon composite bed, my 2012 TRD Sport has it, and i love it. Love the new TRD Sport though, but ill stick with my 4.0 V6 lol
A lot of windshield reflections and or glare throughout the video (don't know if its the angle of the windshield) and a lot of things look stuck onto the dash like the wood and infotainment all have a cheap glued on look. Good for them that they finally went with 4wheel disk brakes and worked on the suspension. Good that the cheap looking front air dam is removable, it would get ripped off in about 5 minutes of off roading on a rocky trail or in a field.
Yet it was painful blasting me in the eyes
You get more for your money in the Canyon for sure...I was about to get the TRD Off Road with the I-Force Max, but went with the Canyon AT4X instead...no brainer since I never buy a truck based on gas mileage
Chrome wheels? Is this 2010 again??? Is there a CD player as well..
Joe, since you have driven the Limited with and without Hybrid, what is your honest opinion of which one you would buy? In other words, is it worth the extra $$$ for the hybrid from a power/performance/acceleration standpoint?
This truck is perfect
Dang! Joe took off like a rocket 🚀😁
Heck yeah!
Great review as always, Joe! I just wish they had better exterior and interior colors. Calvary blue with the tan interior seen on the 2025 4Runner would be my pick. Who gets light grey interior for a truck??
I totally agree with you Dennis!
I can't believe i'm saying this but I would rather the nissan frontier. Keep this one toyota. Not paying 55k for a four cylinder pickup. These things are stuck at dealerships where i am currently. Thank you for the review raiti. You do great work as always.
adios the fan boys crying about the high price. finally a functional comfortable truck.
Joe do you know when the ice force max Limited Tacoma will be in dealership?
Not until lated June
@@RaitisRidesthank you for telling me Joe
Fingers crossed this same interior color is coming to the 4runner, would love the trailhunter interior on a limited
Does it have power folding side mirrors? No one seems to know.
Joe, when I randomly describe cars to people, I find myself talking like you lol
Great minds think a like Jesse!
Worlds First iPad that comes with a Truck.
I think for the price Tacoma needs to bring more amenities into the cabin. The Frontier would be my choice right now, tried and true V6, similar features inside except for ventilated seats, more back seat room, and its 10k less.
Should have a black out option. Add on performance exhaust , a lift kit, and stock 33’s. I would get this
Call it the "Asshole package." Because that's usually how the assholes on the road have their trucks set up.
It’s interesting that no midsize pickup offers heated back seats yet
I like the limited trim but I’ll wait till the night shade package comes in a few years. Delete all that chrome
Tacoma does have an edge in in power, full time 4wd (albiet Canyon has 4wd auto I believe,), adaptive suspension and the hybrid setup allows for a 2400 onboard inverter in the bed which is great for those camping / overlanding
It is an interesting comparison for sure!
Had a 2018 Tacoma TRD, sold it ….. I hopped in a Newer Gen Tacoma and it looks larger from outside, but feels smaller inside for some reason 🧐
Did you drive the red traverse chevy
Yes I did! It is on the channel Jimmy.
Here you go:

FINALLY!!!! Someone calls out Toyota on the lack of memory seats on any trim. Seriously Toyota, what the heck? Bring that and rear vents to the 2025 and you got a sale.
I really like the Canyon Denali……..really really 😁. Hey Joe, did you know you said Tacona with an N when you mentioned Hawaii. I think it happens automatically when you think of Hawaii lol !
😂 OMG! Must have been the California sun melting my brain! 😂
Nice. Did you get to do 0-60?
About 6.5 Secs
IForce Max uses Nickel Metal Hydride batteries, not Lithium ion.
Yes
Ibteat one and I didn't like how my right knee touches the steering wheel, and I'm not tall, 5-7
That better be real leather! No Vinyl “soft Tex” crap for me please.
Yup, that pause after mentioning the price....
It hurts!
I'm glad I don't see any "Beauty Cover" under the hood! Better for cooling the plastics .
This is very true Eric
Composite bed has been standard since 2004. I think it’s a $3,000 option on a GMC Sierra. 😅
This is true
Love Tacomas but think the ZR2 is a way better bang for buck.
That price for a Taco? That’s nuts!
Prices have gone up!
Love the truck. Dislike the price!
I also am very annoyed by the lack of an armrest in the back seat.
I’m sorry I’m a huge Toyota fan boi but I can’t stand the pricing on these newer models. I personally don’t think they are selling too well I still haven’t seen one out on the road.
Apparently the Frontier with it's 3.8L V6 is the only good midsized new truck left.
So no info on the mpg?
Same as the f150
I gotta go with the classic V6 Pro 4X Frontier. Not hating on the power train here just not for me.
I’m a Tacoma owner, 3rd gen,,,will not be even contemplating getting a gen 4. If I buy another it will be a Canyon AT4X or a Colorado ZR2. Toyota is pricing themselves outta the game with what you get. Plus, terrible wheels.
Dont beat the truck Joe im almost certian the outside of the bed is still dentable steel.
That is incorrect.
What do they want for this version? 65k? 70?
That is a great question.
Good quality.
This is very true Manuel
Aren't you getting tired of the hills of San Diego by now?😅
I was out there for a week! LOL
I bought my fully loaded tacoma off-road in 2020 for $35K. Toyota has lost their damn minds with their prices. Just going to keep mine until it dies around 300K miles and buy used from now on.
I want you to get on the freeway doing 70 MPH and punch it to see what kind of pass power it has
16:35 why does it say 229 miles left when it’s almost full still? Ain’t no way
The #MotorTrend Channel has a nice featurette on the wild cars and trucks in the New #Furiosa #MadMax movie.
That is so cool!
We have a “She’s my Cherry Pie” sighting. 🤘
Chrome is worst part, or maybe offer black chrome, looks terrible on config website with oxide paint color
Understandable for sure.
Nice truck! I don't care for the chrome accents.
I know it's an easy fix but I can't get over the fact that Toyota looked at that exhaust placement on the final revision and was like "yup, looks good." Like it looks like a crap aftermarket exhaust fit-up.
It kind of looks the same as last year.
I don't care what manufacturers are saying about turbo 4s in trucks. Turbos generate a ton of heat and stress. If you're gonna really use it and work it i would be woried about its reliability Now if you're just taking it to Costco or Whole Foods it'll be fine. I'll take the Frontier V6 NA all day long. Oh yeah, and it's cheaper too!
55k is outrageous a lot of money for this small truck.. It should be around the 30s. I don't care how many bottles of Kambusha you can put inside in it
frontier owns this
My Mom Has A Dark Red 2021 Toyota Tacoma👍👏🔴🛻💨!!!
I don't get Toyota it would be cheaper for them to go with the v6 instead of using a hybrid 4 system to achieve v6 like power.
that rear seat fail and price is the downfall of this thing
Lego interior
Toyota is gonna have no problem selling virtually all the Tacos they can build
I'm sure Toyota knows the rear seat is on the small size of the segment. They probably know their customers enough to find the Taco is mostly sold to single men, who may carry their girl around, not families, who need a large back seat, or moving child seats around. For those truck buyers, they will refer you to the Tundra
Toyota diehard here. Too expensive, especially for a Mexican version. Maybe if they were still built in Japan, the price could be justified.
This guy is a lil pervy, but continue.
These prices are criminally insane. Should be illegal to put prices like this on a base trim basically
You better believe it!
Thanks Joe for great videos, from your prospective, is buying $92,000 raptor 2023 in 2024
is a good deal ? Thanks
If it a standard Raptor no way
They really should've given these midsize trucks at least 36 inches of rear legroom
Yeah, I don't get it. The Maverick has more rear legroom than the Taco. Makes zero sense.
Reason being is the front hood( motor is too big ). They need to shave a few inches from there and add it to the rear seat area. Ridgeline mount their motor sideways thus creating more legroom in the rear. The maverick also has a narrower motor compare to the taco.
That is true!
👏👏
Stupid crazy price on these tacomas i would never in a million years pay this for a mid sized truck.
Front looks like RAM 1500
Frontier pro x v6 all day.
the air dam really looks out of place. No need for it at all. No arm rest in the backseat is a zonk.
No heated rear seats for a limited, no memory seats for a limited, cheap plastic material on the doors. That’s just completely unacceptable. Toyota is so cheap it’s sad.
Taking time to make pejorative comments sounds to me like you’re a bit jealous lol
@@jonathanratliff4780works for Chevy or Ford
@@jonathanratliff4780 a bit jealous? Hahaha I have a ram Laramie that’s a middle of the pack trim level that has better material usage then Toyotas, plus I have memory seats, and heated rear seats. Shut your trap If you don’t know what your talking about mr Toyota fanboy
Plus they’re built in Mexico so they save on labor costs. It’s insane the cost cutting Toyota is doing and then raising the MSRP in these over $15k more than the previous generation.
@@tylermichaud8699 yeah my point exactly you’re definitely jealous that’s Stellantis piece of junk lol
Coincidentally the one state with the most Asians believe it or not is Hawaii🤔
Didn’t look like there was an air conditioner vent for back seat can’t believe that and no auto seat feature, plastic used everywhere. Don’t know but this is a Limited can’t compare with for Ranger Limited sorry
55k. WTF are these car companies smoking?
