I really appreciate the way Joe tells us to sit down before calling a price. Because $67K can make someone very light-headed. That is madness!!
67K!??? yoooo they are out of their mind. for a midsized truck?
Pricing is insane across the board.
They want you to trade in your paid off 3rd gen tacoma for a 20k discount then this trd pro becomes a 47k truck and they can resale your used 3rd gen for 35k. 🎉
Enter all the: “Get your money up” and “don’t be mad cause you’re broke” comments 😂😂 $67k is wild bro for a midsize!! I can afford it but I just don’t want the payment. I have completely given up on buying anything new for myself. I’m driving my 2013 Chevy Malibu til the wheels fall off that thing.
@@mustang9549you can’t afford it if you have to make payments though.
@@mustang9549this is the mentality people should have. Sure one can afford something, but that doesnt mean one should just pay what manufacturers are demanding for new vehicles these days. Pricing is insane, I dont care how rich you are, if you disagree then you’re equally insane…
$63,900 before markups.
Quick math:
$6,400 down (10%)
+ tax and interest (7.64)
60 Months Payment: $1260
@12.5% of take home pay you should be earning $157,500 annually to be looking at this car (assuming the appropriate taxes are coming out of your paycheck).
National average wage (US Census): $63795.
Percentage making $150k annually: approx. 8.3%
5 Year price increase Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro:
2019 MSRP: $42,960
2024 MSRP: $63,900
49% increase
Wage growth 2019-2024: 1.7% (Source: US Treasury)
These price increases far outpace inflation and wage growth.
Toyota is targeting 8% of total market. Or people who just want to act fiscally irresponsible.
Keep Preaching the truth brother. 🤛 I purchased my TRD Off Road brand new in 2018 for 35k
We all know ppl are still going to buy these even with the price increase!
I can't believe what they're doing. I miss the days where a fully equipped GX barely touched 60k.
Checked here in Omaha and they have Zero mark ups at Baxter and WoodHouse
I paid 41k in 2019 for my 19 trd pro new off the lot. Not 42. And your median income is WAY too high. The average median income in the US is NOWHERE CLOSE to 60 grand.
Don't forget about the Dealer Markups.... so basically it's about $70,000
It’s literally going to be 70k out the door with out markups. Gotta include destination and taxes… lol. ZR2 here I come!
I talked with my dealer here in Portland, and the markup is 14999, truck is now 82k, this is Oregon, so no sales tax at least, but still, that’s insane. They were thinking of making markup even more, 20k. Then I said I wanted 40k on my trd off road with the premium package and they complained about paying over priced on our truck, well how about me lol 😂
Rather buy a mansion in Texas before I buy this
I thought to myself...fake vents, fake carbon fiber, small cab, and then you said the price 🤯 I literally turned off my ears once I heard that, then I remembered you are just the messenger. Still love the videos, Joe.
Vents on a 4 banger 😂 or is it in case the battery gets hot?
67k… I was going to trade my 2024 Tundra TRD Pro for this truck. After hearing the price I think I’ll just keep the Tundra
That might be a good call
for this price the tundra looks likw a way better buy
Any issues with the Tundra? I was going to get this but I’d rather get a full size for just a few k more
@@RaitisRidesJoe...you in danger gurl, be careful with big Toyota watching...
you told the damn truth.🤐🥸
Keep the tundra, this thing is tiny. The tundra is 10x better
Anyone remember when a decent pickup was $30,000? Ahhhh, the good ol days…
it didn't seem long ago.
67k is just insanity. I think 45k max is where this truck should be and even that's high. They can keep these trucks I'll never pay that much for a 4 cylinder pickup truck.
I think you need to look at truck prices. Your $45k price point is low side crazy.
@@RaitisRides oh I'm sure just saying what the value of these trucks really should be, they've gone crazy all of them
@@RaitisRides just priced a Nissan pro 4x 2024 V6 4WD in my area 45k, Titan pro 4x 2024 V8 4WD 4D Crew Cab 58k. This little 4 cylinder Tacoma still 9k higher than a V8 Titan.
@@tedbell4416you priced matched a truck that is 10 years outdated and a truck that is in its last year or production because no one buys...
@@Mycameron2323Exactly
Toyota has lost their mind. There’s no way in hell I would pay that kind of money for a midsize truck. I go get me a full-size mid range truck if I was going to spend that ridiculous.
Lets be real...this trim should be about 40k. 67k? BMW M2 price for a midsize Toyo Truck.
I was going to trade my M2 competition for one but 85 out the door 😂 not never close to the quality of the M2
This gives a new meaning to “morning Joe “ ☕️
I like what you did there Tom!
Nice
I know GMC ain’t known for their reliability… but I paid 67k for my Sierra AT4. Can’t imagine paying that for a midsize truck
Joe, great skill demonstrated while driving at high speed. You were able to maintain a consistent flow of conversation. Most people would not be able to put together one sentence during that drive.
I'm impressed that you were able to talk to us about the truck while also confidently going through that off road course!
Toyota just lost me with these insane prices. 👎 Not in the market for a truck anyways but still enjoy watching all your vids!
Thanks for still having my back
Love the way the truck looks, but 67k with no room in the rear seats is a deal breaker.
That is tough but it is a midsize.
@@RaitisRidesRanger has way more room
Great review Joe!!! looks like a damn nice truck.
thanks Joe, the Tacoma is priced way to high you can buy a chevy colorado ZR2 for 48k or a GMC canynon AT 4 for 50k-so why would I ever buy a Tacoma trail hunter for 64k or a Tacoma for 66K the numbers just do not add up brother
Nice video keep up the good work Joe
Joe I stayed up so I can watch your first drive for this beautiful Trd pro Tacoma 2024
I’m so grateful for you being here!
@@RaitisRides🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Prices are going on the roof. This is insane 65K for this. 😢 truck is nice but price is not justified.
this is a really good one 👍
Anybody thinks there’s value in this ridiculous price (and add in dealer mark ups) has more money than brains.
The Markup they want to charge on the trd pro in the years trd pro color is 15k and they were thinking about doing a 20k markup. It’s absolutely insane paying 82k for a mid size pickup truck. The turbo will go out after 100k miles 😅
@@MyCrazyGameAddiction Or maybe a Million dollar markup since where just pulling number out our a$$....
That’s a big nope for $70k with tax etc. 👎
It really is shocking
But Toyota is for ever
@nick.i.am97 yeah we hope on this new tacoma
@@antoniocognato5023 just wait till those digital displays fail.....
@@shnerp I'm not feeling this truck. Looks AMAZING.....JUST, j heard a trd off road by me, and that engine sounds like a lawnmower
Yes of course Joe & I would buy this truck.
Thank you Steven!
No doubt this is a great truck but the price range is close to the full size segment. I just don't see me paying that much money for a midsize.
These prices just keep going up
You should check out the competition way more bang for your buck. The money you save can buy you an extended warranty out to 175k miles. Is the new turbo taco with an unproven engine not going to have major repairs out to 175k? Doubt it. People made fun of Ford's for being unreliable because they went to a turbo engine. Guess what Toyota did?
@@marklihsu The problem with the price (for me) is that is very close to the full size segment and for that price I'd rather go for a full size. But what you said is correct, something from a different brand or even something from previous years would be a better option.
67K is what I paid for my Toyota Tundra 2024 Platinum TRD OFF road package. I'm sooo Happy 😎 🤣. Good Job Joe as always!!
67k is a joke brah lmao let me start looking at nissan or something
It's been a long...wait, final a review of the TRD Pro Tacoma. ❤
I’m loving that dark color too. It looks good!
You have great taste Bobby!
You're my go-to truck reviewer on CZcams!
That is so fantastic of you to say! I appreciate your support!
67k for a Tacoma! Ain’t no way!
If the dealer only has one... it's going to be about $70,000
@@konglee7284 at least. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some of these shady dealers marking them up to 80k.
This is why I love your channel -- You had the Toyota Rep. SCARD (18:09) -- I think we should wait -- the engine is beyond new - a lot of power for a turbo 4cly
those seats are crazy cool
Joe and Lori and Steve keep up the good work real true and I love the video real true 👍
You got it my brother!
Looking good
This is really nice.
Joe, curious to get your honest opinion (considering the price) whether you’d go with the new TRD Pro or the ZR2? Seems like you gave the ZR2 a lot of praise in your previous review.
Beautiful Toyota. I love the TRD version is more hardcore and buff ish look 💪😍
This Tacoma looks great no matter what trim level!
They really nailed the styling!
I could possibly justify the $63,800 base price if it had flawless Japanese assembly (assembled in Mexico). The margins on this truck must be off the hook for Toyota.
V6 to 4 banger moved production to Mexico then blame it on the epa . Then charge you more than a way more capable ranger raptor. Invite all these CZcamsrs who dare not say a bad thing about the taco to hype it up. They know what they're doing.
No one can deny this truck looks amazing and has great capabilities. It also has a legendary track record for being reliable and having good resale value. Just man that is some high prices but I can’t really speak since I won’t be buying one. Really we will know if it’s too much if Tacoma buyers buy it or not. I have a feeling they will and won’t hesitate picking this up. Other New Toyota and Lexus models with higher prices are selling hot even with higher prices than their predecessors
I am not sure if it's long covid or not, but did he actually say 67k for a midsize truck before dealers markups ????
Glad I purchase d my 2023 Toyota Tacoma trd pro
Just curious, what did you pay for it?
@@Bruce-th3tp $52,800
Was thinking about getting a truck for the usability but truck prices are insane. Turning my focus back to the sedan 2025 Camry xse AWD
First. That is one mighty tacoma! Would love to see my favourite trim level the limited next in supersonic red
That is so fantastic that I can bring this one to you!
It looks like that plastic TRD badge on the seats could dig in to your back?
I woke up at 7 am to see this, and I'm already considering getting this thanks to you
Also, do you know about the new Forester
I’m so glad that you are digging it Mason!
@@masonbell3891yep, I will have that coming soon
Whoever designed the AC to look like an old school radio is genius!
Is this the best midsize truck on the market to take to Baja? Probably not
The Ranger Raptor is probably better purpose built for that
Is this the best combination of off-roader and daily driver in the segment?
Probably is, especially with 23 MPG fuel economy.
Glock and holster would look nice in there as well.
Perfect test drive timing! Doug never took it off-road due to muddy conditions with recent rain.
My god that price is wild!
Prices for trucks in general have gone off the rails. GR8 review as always.
They can sit and spin. Not going to lie I do like the the TRD off road version but I will wait til they are used til the second year model. My 2005 4Runner will be fine.
what is the engine looking like for this vehicle? Is it electric?
Joe....dumb question, but was this test model japan made? Just wondering
Not a dumb question. All Tacomas are made in Mexico now. The new 2025 4Runner will still be made in Japan however.
Perhaps this is the only trim level with the Iso seats.
The Ranger Raptor looking real nice now
What about the 4 runenr trailhinter?? thats my fav
That was just unveiled!
I may prefer the Trailhunter. How much is that 182k?
Toyota is who they think they are. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I’m glad that you approve
What about a Toyota TAXOMA TRD Sport 4x4 for 2024+ and what about the SX trim? I like the new TACOMA
Cant wait for the Trailhunter Joe. But if it was me, I would go two tone or the new Terra color
That's why I preemptively bought the Tundra TRD pro for 4k more bc the writing was on the wall.
Wow neon light 😊it's reminds of the fast & the furious
Looks alright.
Please start saying it is NOT worth it. 67k?? Nissan Frontier Pro 4x looking real good these days. You can find them less than 10k miles for almost half the price.
Crazy price.....but I saw a Colorado ZR2 at a dealer near me and the MSRP was $71,000. The MPG ? 17 city/17 highway. Now THAT is crazy !!!
I just bought a 2023 nissan titan for 32k 15,000 miles. Best deal i could find in my area, prices are insane!
That's a good deal
I was looking forward to this truck but that Price 😂 forget it.
Yeah no way with insurance tag and everything else forget it I'll buy a damn Corolla
Things are getting nutty
This is so very true.
It is time!
It’s about time!
This is easily the best Toyota Tacoma, but man-o-man, the price is really steep! I love the seats and the four wheel disc brakes. It really looks like it’s a billy goat off-road.
Where is this trail in san diego?
It’s cool but $67k is another measure. That said, there are other midsize trucks that cost that much, like the GMC ATX4. I’ve seen that up close and it’s certainly cool. It’s be a tough choice if I were in the market for these trucks.
Ranger Raptor is $56k...
That would do very well with a Off Road travel trailer RV 🤙😎.
This is very true
I knew they would ask a ridiculous price. I guess we will see if it sells.
It's time to go Underground!
Definitely the Tacoma 4X4!!!!!
ZR2 fully loaded is under 60k lol
Fully loaded ZR2 should be under 40k lol
Great pricing on the TRD pro.
Joe Raiti, I absolutely love the Toyota Tacoma & what really makes me very very happy has got to be the fake corner vents & the fake hood scoop & like I've always said & I'm always going to keep on saying it, it kinda gives it style as to a pair of boring corner of the bumpers as well as a plain & boring hood. Who is going to give a dollar about having a smooth hood & corners of bumper? That wood just look rather bland just seeing one slab of sheet metal.
Hey man, Why did you move the seats 💺 all the way to the front!!?? We all wanted to see that “usable” space in the back… i guess Toyota told you NOT to showcase the real space of the back seats. Thats a Bummer!
They took almost a decade to give you no improvement 😂
@@marklihsu hahahahaha exactly!!! A downgrade instead… lol!! Damnn
People should know that is not just toyotas . Anything you buy whatever it is . Prices are so high now . Even food prices are so high . Nice truck love it
Yes, but the big 3 offer serious discounts to offset the ridiculous MSRP prices. Toyota's arrogance will bite them in the arse and they will be forced to do the same. Unless of course they are content with these overpriced Mexican built trucks sitting on car lots. That's the last point to be made, who wants a vehicle built in a third world country? You better hope it wasn't built on Tequila Tuesday or Thursday or any other day ending in day. I love the Mexican people but when you pay them pennies on the dollar what do you expect in return? Sorry Toyota big error in judgement on this new truck I'm sure 4Runner will be the same price but at least they are being built in the greatest manufacturing plant on earth.
What Joe Biden said this is the greatest economy ever people are living the life of luxury, $1200 car payment should be easy for the average American...LOL what a joke this country has become.
Almost every single day 👍🏼
Outstanding review! 67k flies in the face that everything off-roading stands for, even for a top of the line trim, littered with things your average offroader/overlander didn’t ask for/need. Toyota is letting the namesake and status get to their head! You think if we did away with the JBL speaker that would drop it 2k??
Where can I find one we are looking for 2024 TRD pro
You need to get to your local Toyota dealer right away!
Those are THE sexiest car seats I've ever seen! 😍
Cant help but chuckle at a 70k midsize truck. Might as well get a Tundra with the rebates or wait for 2025 since they are dropping priced on the Tundra. Toyota is going to lose A LOT of its customers to GM with these prices.
67k for a Taco ???!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
You can get a standard range Rivian R1T cheaper than that. 69,900 - 3750 rebate (that can now be applied at purchase) and you’re looking at 66,150. Just let that sink in.
I’d love to see a comparison video seeing that both are marketed as off road adventure trucks.
Stay tuned and I will get it together for you!
@@RaitisRides my man!
Loving this tacoma. But im here in barbados and we get the Hilux. ❤
I own a GMC Sierra Z71 and if I didn't have that truck I would definitely be looking at one of these, $66K for a medium sized pickup sounds like a lot but the mid sized pickups are almost as big as a full sized. You will definitely need one of these to pull out the Tesla Cybertrucks and Ranger Raptors that all are getting stuck out there ! CZcams is filling up with Tesla Cybertruck videos getting stuck when trying to do any hill climbing and rock crawling.
Joe, it seems that mid-size trucks have gotten rather expensive.
Only the overpriced taco. Total Ripoff Dude!

At the end of the day, it's just a mid-sized truck.
Per Toyota’s website today the TRD Pro Tacoma is $63,900 MSRP

The Big Boss is coming to a freeway near you. I cannot wait to own this Tacoma TRD Pro and show those GM, Nissan and Ford owners who the Real Boss IS!
the price is good compare to Ranger
My F350 Limited was 105k. These aren't daily drivers for 99% of people. These are luxury items. I do think 67k is a bit much for the truck itself but it's their pinnacle model in the Tacoma lineup. I'd buy this at 59k all day
