    The mark of a good driver is those clean, precise shifts. Too many I've seen that flub every shift. These were perfect. Kudos. These Mr. Dos videos make me pine for my AW11 I had as a young spud. Surely wasn't as meticulous in it's upkeep, though.

    To be honest, not many people need a video on changing the weather strip on an MR2. BUT, what we love is watching a gorgeous woman figure out how to dismantle it and fix it. You take such joy in exploring and learning, you are definitely a gearhead and the queue of blokes who want you for a GF starts outside the garage door and goes for miles. Enjoy.

Papa Koni suspension ajustable manually, i had that on my VW SCirocco 16valves 1987. My scirocco had shift kit, head polished, racing double cam, K&N air filter, BBS wheels, racing computer chip, metal pedals, momo driver wheel, complete muffler line SUPERSPRINT stainless steel with manifold and ventilated disk on 4 wheels, it was 200hp instead of 123hp!!!

  • @Kornholeeoo
    @Kornholeeoo Před 4 lety

    Needed a little stiffy in the rear! Rub vaseline on that weather stripping. It softens up the rubber really well. Rub it in, rub it in. Then wipe off the excess in the morning. Did it on an 84 Nissan 300ZX and worked like a charm.

  • @neurokinetik64ES
    @neurokinetik64ES Před 4 lety

    Your only available adjustment is the rebound setting on the Konis. Making it stiffer will just make the car slower to recover after it hits a bump, making your rubbing worse. What you need is slightly stiffer springs and/or stiffer compression (which would require sending the struts in for a revalve). You can also roll/pull the fenders out so they don't rub.
    EDIT: Removing the spacers was the free/easy option, as long as inside clearance isn't an issue.

    Somehow, at an almost cosmic level, you actually captured the feeling of victory, when an Item is made to function past factory design, and the Item enters into a place where its Value, to the restorer, is far beyond mere money, or time. Make sure the left and right T-Top drain tubes are not clogged or you will still get water drips from trapped water. Even after I replaced the T-Top seals on my 1994 SW20, I still had a little wind whistling until I replaced the left and right window weather stripping. Looking forward to see you drop the gas tank since I've got to do that but have been putting it off. When you do drop it, upgrade to a higher volume fuel pump which is pretty much a necessity in the quest of more performance.

    Im just going to say, had youtube existed back when i had my mk3 supra and i needed to replace all of the weatherstripping in its removeable top, i would have been looking for a video cause the water would not leak inside the car, it instead would pool up inside the removable hardtop, and dump about a gal on the passengers seat when the car stopped next, and the problem while related to the weatherstrip ended up being something else that had to be replaced at the same time that toyota for reasons unkown, felt no need to inform you, you have to replace this seal when you do the weatherstripping. Had someone made a video of that process, that was not easy, i would have been eternally grateful to them. Just make sure your search terms include it so someone looking can find it.

    Really great to see the MR2 almost done. It looks really great. What might help delay having to replace those other window seals is silicone spray lube. Coat the seal and let it sit for awhile, then wipe off the excess. Or you can spray down a clean rag with the silicone and then wipe the seals, leaving it nice and wet, then clean off excess. It will initially leave some residue on the windows when the door is closed, but that will prolong the life of the seals. Doesn't hurt to wipe some over the new seals as well.
