I do most of my own wrench turning and watch a ton of automotive and motorsport channels on CZcams. I have to say that this channel is super underrated. You should have way more subscribers! You put out some really high quality content!
Thanks, I appreciate it. 😊
I was gonna click the like button on this comment, but there was currently 69 likes, so I didn't. MacGruber!!!
@@Harry-Cardboard 😅
Absolutely right about wiring. Never skimp or neglect a wiring job on a project. Your electric skills are top tier!
Sarah you can't even see sketchy from where you are. Your attention to detail is extrordinary. Love what you do.
+1 for leaving the center logo as it is. The gloss finish lets it stand out just the right amount from the surrounding plastic, pulling the eye to it nicely.
Girl, that car is better than factory. Even the wiring is refurbished. I always enjoy the clean work you do. Among the greats - mighty car mods, toms turbo garage and Bad obsession motorsports. Impressive 👌
Leave the lit up MR2 logo. The gloss matches the surrounds on the tail lights.
Conan Mills: Beat me to it! Exactly right on matching the tail light trim! Cheers!
Yes leave it gloss!
Leave it gloss it will match the window tint!
Exactly
Leave the logo, take the cannoli.
Your attention to detail is unmatched!! I find myself saying.. "would Sarah do it this way" when doing stuff on my projects. Thanks for the awesome videos!! Never change your awesome habits.
It may take you forever to finish a build, but your attention to detail makes it well worth it. I think if you eventually find a build that is more popular that the sponsors would roll in.
I love your attention to detail on the wiring. So often people just
twist a couple of wires together and hope it works, it won’t.
Before you wrap it up make sure that you open up the ECU and check it for leaky or bulging capacitors.
This is a common problem and an easy fix.
Attending to it now will mean you won't have to take a long walk later.
Cousin Dos
ok. Yo, Sarah. You better research and do this. This is VERY VERY VERY true....Thimk!
The Illuminated name plate looks great as it is, so like the Beatles once said
“just let it be”.
Actually they said "letter b".
I would leave the MR2 logo Gloss black, especially if the factory accessory came that way. The soft red illumination shows well in contrast to the red exterior paint. You can always return it to stock for whatever reason since you're keeping the oem part. Well done.
Those properer bare wire crimping tools are very satisfying to use! They lock into the insulation and crimp the wire really well too. Super factory quality.
Getting that temperature probe working was impressive. So satisfying when you tested it with a heat gun and everything came to life.
I love the fact you can do wiring. I've never been able to understand a schematic... it makes trouble shooting so much easier... and it makes the build so much cleaner...
The logo looks great as is. Yes, the glossy finish doesn't match the surrounding trim, but it's small enough to not detract from the overall look. And yes, it would be nice to see a final detail. I just love your work ethic!
Keep the light, but only if YOU like it.
I think it makes the car stand out even more. It already was a looker but the details you have worked on put it in a whole new category
That rear illumnated sign looks really smart on your MR2 and looks even better gloss black
I say keep it, the light up MR2 emblem.
Would love to see a 'wrap up' video just covering the final changes you've done on the Car since your video "My Home Built Project! // 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo Review" and ideally, the performance differences have been while taking it for a drive. Loved my Red 1992 MR2 (non turbo) owned back around year 2000, so watching your videos has been a great memory of a great car. Thanks Sarah!
I have really enjoyed this video series. Your videos have given me a new appreciation for the MR2. Hopefully it won’t be the last time we see you working on it. The lighted MR2 logo looks sick. I would keep it.
The finished fan setup is slick as get out, love it! Leave the illuminated logo as-is, the gloss matches the taillights.
The gloss works nicely and the illumination looks awesome! Keep it as is.
Definitely do more MR2 content. This car is pretty neat especially seeing how far you've taken it. Try an aftermarket mustang sequential tail light harness kit for a 99-04 - I think that would make things blink the way you want and with your wiring skills it should be no problem.
I'm going to keep commenting on these videos until Sarah likes one of my comments.
Btw keep up the great content. Hello from Las Vegas. I love how MR. Duos is coming along.
KEEP IT!
*note* I said this BEFORE you showed it illuminating, and now I love it more, also, as the black that surrounds the other source of illumination on the rear of the car (the taillights) is gloss black, I would seem fit to also leave the black surround on the Illuminated MR2 emblem gloss as well.
Please more MR2 content! I really like how you brought it to a level it never ever was.
Oh yeah, that replica is spot on. Looks fantastic!
As a suggestion, maybe swap out the old light bulbs for modern LED’s? Only the brake lights though. Keep everything else stock lighting. It’ll help a lot! 👍🏻
Onto the focus...
The light up emblem is that subtle touch that makes it sharp. Like cuff links on a suit.
I would like one more MR2 video: just you enjoying your car. Give it the beans, go get a bubble tea, get parts for another car, whatever you do with a car. We've seen you work and work and work on the car, so you've earned a video of just enjoying the car.
I think Gloss black makes a statment about your commitment to this vehicle. Highly polished!
I really enjoy watching this DIY specially for MR2! Thanks Sarah for sharing.
Another great video, Sarah. Your wiring skills are second to none! Those connectors you're using look like GM Weatherpac connectors? They're high quality and will last forever. Smart idea to put a connector for the fans. Speaking of fans...those babies are LOUD! I bet they push a TON of air. I like the illuminated MR2 logo in the back. Leave it gloss, as the taillights have gloss black on them. I would venture to say that you probably have THE nicest MR2 on the planet? Everything about that car is totally right, now. It's been an enjoyable journey, watching you make this car into what it is today. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to the next chapter...
Great job Sarah . My Dad always told me if you can''t pay attention to detail ,and properly fit things together ,rather than just throwing them together ,then you might as well figure on things failing ,and wasting your time....
gotta admire a woman that can solder and, read a wiring schematic. Keep the light!
Sarah... this project has been impeccable. I rewatched some of the first few videos on Mr. Dos and am so happy you have decided to keep it instead of your earlier plan to flip it. I agree with other commenters... perhaps do a review video using the same format as your weekly car reviews before moving onto the Focus? One last thing. The music selections were perfect. Too bad we non-license holders can’t access some of the tunes available to you. Cheers from Ohio!
Yes on a detailing video! The detailing videos you used to do are how I found your channel a couple of years ago.
The MR2 light up rear logo looks super dope. I agree with others to leave gloss as is. Love all of your excellent content and hoping for the summary work video someone suggested. No rush but would be super cool to see especially with the end scenes being fast drives through the twisties and some donuts as you give it the beans!
I like it. I was worried it was going to be really tacky but it’s subtle. I don’t think you need to do anything else to it. I do worry about the durability of an aftermarket part. After a few years out in the sun and elements, it might start to dull or something.
Final...sounds so...final! Happy that the build is complete, but love the MR2 content!
Mama
The MR2 IS looking so good! I'd definitely like to see a detail and final drive once it's sorted.
Sarah when you are done you better take that MR2 to car shows as clean and right that car is! Keep killing it!
Sarah, Gavin again. I have made other mr2 reproduction parts including, side window shades, engine and frunk stickers, t bar class decals, rear window decals and toms style clusters.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR GETTING A EL GLOW BADGE
This is the second video of yours of watched so far and I just can't believe you are even real. Where did you come from? Do you have an awesome dad or what? Your attention to detail is second to none! Your sense of humor is the best kind. You're beautiful to look at. You're incredibly intelligent about all the facets of cars. I'm just blown away. And no one has put a ring on you!! Well I'm off to watch more of your videos.
Great job Sarah, looks awesome! I think the gloss black on the emblem looks great the way it is. Nice to see you happy and not getting so major problems, your persistence has paid off lol. Thanks for the upload, she's coming along great.
Detail video - Yes please
Illuminated MR2 Light - Keep it It looks awesome and keep it gloss black i think it fits with the car well
Cant wait to see you driving it and taking it to some car shows
you have inspired me to start my own car resto project. 92 firebird. its just such an icon and i have loved them since i before i was old enough to cross the street by myself. i used to draw them alot as a child too.
I like the light up logo and the gloss surround matches the gloss of the black parts on the taillights.
I'd leave it on and the way it is :)
Sorry Sarah, We all love what you do and we do LOVE you too.Try the 1995 MR2 Tail lights and center finish panel that look best.Would make your car look like a newer year.
I like the way the replica looks. A piece of individuality to give Mr Dos another reason to stand out.
I think you should do a drive/review when you complete the finishing touches.
Totally impressed with where it's gotten from whence it came.
Looking forward to the Sir Codsworth content!
Yes please, much more Mr. Dos content. It rocks!
It’s so cool to see how far Mr Dos has come, from not even starting on the back of a trailer to boost gauges and illuminated logos!❤️
Yeh definitely a great series of videos to watch 😎
If we got married I'd take your last name❤
love the badge, leave it gloss black, makes a nice contrast.
Your OCD is on another level Sarah. I thought I was at a high level but you win and there’s nothing wrong with that. Your perfection is perfect.
First time I've ever heard "rubber butt plug" when doing any electrical wiring. I learn so much from Sarah! Really great work sweating the details.
Attention to detail and level of workmanship is second to none on this channel well done Sarah.
I love your content because you are THOROUGH! And your AF background. And mostly your wit/humor! Thank you!
We appreciate your dedication and hard work sarah, we all love you, and miss sarah²
MORE MR. DOS (cowbell)!!!! I'd love to see the intake manifold coolant delete.
You could do the detail video as part of a Vlog. Maybe something as part of you getting out in public a bit (social distancing, of course). Maybe visiting someone's shop, or looking for rally car parts for the Focus. Maybe just visiting a restaurant with a local friend.
Also, gotta do a demo video of Mr. Dos out in the wild with the new cooling fans and boost setup.
Again...perfect retro synth bumper music to go with this MR2 video. Nice work.
Your electrician skills is most impressive. Beyond my scope of understanding. 👍
Right nice work there Sarah. This thing is ready for a car show. Dont forget uv protection on lamps lenses after buffing and scuffing to prevent fading.
I like the Illuminated MR-2! I wish I was as savy with electrical wiring as you Sarah. Great ending point for Mr. Dos. Looks great! Don’t paint it. Leave it black around the light. It’s fine.
I was doing my own Weather Pack wiring project to my boat a couple weeks ago. Those connections are tiny and tricky. How you do it, and many other things, with those nails....blows me away!! Love your channel.
Yay. Weatherpack and Deutz connectors are awesome. They are a simple and inexpensive option for replacing hard to find factory connections.
Your music choice nails this vid. A big big like for this fantastic result of your work.
When I wire something up and to keep track of the positive/neg leads, I put a red or black shrink tube band 1/4 inch as close to the unit as I can and near the end I am working with and leave them there. Just in case I have a problem with the connector and have to do it over. Looks great.
I like the work that you have done on this car. The badge at the rear is like the cherry
I like the light up MR2 emblem and it looks nice gloss black!
Awesome job wiring and I really like the MR2 logo! Looks great! I wish you could have pulled the car out of the garage with the engine running so we could see and hear how those fans work. Curious about the sound they make.
I agree, leave it alone. I like the gloss with the tail light trim
Looks great another stellar job, but I didn’t come this far without you giving Mr. Dos the beans.
You've done an incredible job with this car Sarah. It's absolutely gorgeous.
Keep the illuminated logo, the car deserves it.
Keep the rear center illuminated piece and leave it gloss black. Put a dib of wax ore paint sealant over it though to prevent grime from sticking to it, because that will scratch quite easily when you wipe the car dry.
The Lit logo looks Lit! I just added Raptor lights to my 4Runner grille. Projects like this are so satisfying to wire up and see your results work!
The gloss looks fine, don't mess with it. Nice!
Keep the light-up MR2 fixture, and I'm with Conan Mills - the gloss black around it matches the taillight surrounds.
I love what you have done to Mister Dos! I'm finally done with the series. Guess I'll start on the Focus playlist now.
I am glad that you are satisfied when that goes in the hole.... also cool light.
The illuminated logo nails it. Keep!
I like the logo. Looks cool, and stands out glossy.
You're so right. No sense in doing a half assed job. Looks great!
Looks great with the illuminated emblem.
Who else is in love with Sarah? I know I am.
Well yeah...
Smart, beautiful, AND served our country? Of course!
@Lake Lee lol these are the same guys who get into trouble in Thailand
Your quality of video with the music is very professional. You've come a long way baby!! I love the new MR2 lighted script, it looks great!!
The gloss black makes it pop but ya just gotta fab one that says MR DOS!! a piece of gloss Mylar and get a shop with a flatbed cnc mill (wood/cabinet shop) to mill it. xo
So theres a way you can open up your AFM and release the tension off the gear so you can make adjustments so when you start your car up it will give it the proper amount of gas and runs better without back firing and such. I did a video about it on my 22RE if you look up on lcengineering's website you can find the exact instructions.
after polishing the tail lamps...you should clear coat them. The material of the lenses is very soft and there is a hard coating from the factory to protect it. Once that coating is gone the wear on the lenses increases significantly.
You have great wiring skills. Do whatever you want with the trim and lights and enjoy it.
I love your attention to detail and the cleanliness of the finish. I'd love to buy a car you've owned...apart from the TT...because it's a pita to work on :-)
I always solder those crimps... have had them give me issues, those exact plugs... That MR2 badge looks Mint!
The rear badge looks perfect as is.
Some times it is the small things that make you go hmm. That emblem looks great. I enjoy how the gloss black both breaks up the grill and compliments the black at the bottom of the tail lights. I personally wouldn't change it one bit. Thank you for another great video.
Mr2 badge looks fantastic keep as is watching after midnight in Scotland ❤️
Love the lit up MR2 badge keep it gloss it looks good . And thanks for you’re hard work 😓.
It looks great, no need to change the gloss. Please show all the work you can because you show things I never knew like the vehicle connectors, wiring, etc., in addition to the mechanical work. I watch some of the other female and male mechanics, but you show more troubleshooting and making your own parts. Even the penguins, stuffed animals and cookies are ok, makes the show interesting. Great job!
Also the light looks awesome
Leave it gloss black.. the trim around the tail lights are a gloss back. It matches perfectly. Ties it all together
I would love to see some real and commentary footage of drivability with all the changes. Plus keep the new light !
Keep the MR2 light on the car and find someplace else for the factory piece. Since you're keeping the MR2, maybe put it on the wall in the garage on the side where the car will usually sit, like Mr. Dos has his own parking space name plate.
