    My father bought a Caddy (7 seater)with CNG in 2008, after 350 000 km sold it and bought this one, again 7 seater but the longer base model. This is a truly great car for a big family! Long lasting and sooooo economical (with CNG)!

    • @ercf2
      @ercf2 Před 7 lety

      it didnt explode?

    • @diansimeonov1749
      @diansimeonov1749 Před 7 lety +4

      ercf2 why would it explode? As I said in a 9 year period my father made 350000 kilometers with the old Caddy. He was so pleased with the car, few months ago he changed it for the new model. And it's great!

    I've got the caddy maxi CNG, easely 700km on CNG(high caloric gas) 200km on petrol, combined = 900km! In Belgium there are enough stations with CNG and many more to come. Perfect car for families and it drives very good. The extra cup holders in the back are handy when you stop and sit on the back. Filling takes a little bit longer but is so easy to do, no smell and no dirty hands. Consumption depends on how you drive it, no more no less. It is very safe to, you can acces underground parkings (not with LPG) and the tanks are so strong that there is no danger when having an accident. I had a Opel Zafira Tourer eco before this one and it was so much harder, the suspension on my Caddy is so soft, the seats are also much better. And VW is just better quality all round. Little downside, in the summer on very hot days the airco can not handle the volume of the car, maybe because I have a black one, not sure. Beside that it is just perfect for big families, not only as a "van".

    As we are expanding our sustainability and future technology strategy, Autogefuehl will show you more alternative drive trains. Can CNG be the solution? First video on this drivetrain with some answers by AJ. More CNG / Erdgas vehicles to come very soon in our full reviews!

    Another great Review - many thanks Aditya. I think there is very little, if any infrastructure for CNG private cars in the UK! Typical. Or CNG infrastructure generally. But if people changed to this cheaper fuel, the government would just increase the tax on it, to compensate! In your report, I missed how, why or when the Caddy's engine changed from using petrol to CNG, and back again, etc. Keep up the good work (and music) AJ.

    VW Caddy and Crafter are proudly made in Poland by VW Poznań part of VW Nutzfahzeuge from Hannover. Plate H:NK 231 but manufactured only in Poland. TGI is not so popular like TDI but interesting alternative if you heve acces to this gas fuel in your place. Usually some of busses use it in Poland. More popular is to buy petrol combuston engine with LPG injection system. Liquid Petrol Gas is half price of gasoline and less pollution than petrol or diesel. However CNG /Compessed Natural Gas/ is even more clean than LPG there is no such easy to buy it like LPG gas. More over CNG fuel system requires heavy tanks made of steel or carbon fiber which causes problems with weight and fuel consumption. VW has also issues with rust and corrosion of this CNG fuel tanks because of owners of cng Caddy didn't care enough about their safety and did not replace rusted fuel tanks fo new ones. That caused some serious accidents with fire and car burn especially in Germany...

    They also make the caddy here in Mexico,many models for exports to s,america,c,america ect, but only sell a 1.6 non turbo 110 h.p. engine in Mex which many complain of no power.lm thinking that for $15.k its a great deal and they dont sell in U.S.A.
    yet another strange marketing ploy,but still great value .

    It`s not the most common engine for a Caddy but a grat alternative for a diesel ! 😉👍
    Volkswagen sees a big future of the TGI engine! Let´s see if they can keep up with the I.D models.....

    um schnell mal an den Kofferraum zu kommen - dafür eignet sich das vorklappen von sitzen nun wirklich nicht. stattdessen schafft man so mehr Platz im Kofferraum. jetzt wäre es interessant gewesen, zu erfahren, wie groß der Kofferraum nach dem Umklappen ist. schade. weiterer Zweck: das Einsteigen von Fahrgästen, die hinten mitfahren (Stichwort Siebensitzer). ahnen Sie jetzt, wofür die Getränkehalter hinten sind?

    Still not powerd by a possible renewable energy... If we imagine ourselves in the future in an electric car and we look back in these day's, we will think how it was possible to drive diesel, petrol or even CNG cars witch are running on idle, noizy, continuously polluting where we driving, doesn't have all the power at all the rev range instantly, with all the regular oil changes and all those moving parts in the mecanical engines ( and so on ) . I really think we should look in the future and develop charging station all around the world, build more efficient battery's and use the free energy from the sun !

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  Před 7 lety +5

      actually you can produce CNG co2 neutrally if you artificially produce it. Some pilot factories are already running and doing that, it's an interesting solution. They use solar or wind energy when it is available in abundance to split H2O to hydrogen. Then they use the hydrogen plus CO2 to create artificial methane = CNG. Pretty interesting.

      Autogefühl That's really good, I'm happy to hear about it! I know that people need transportation and there will be all kinds of alternatives, but this time we should really focus and try to choose ( develop ) the most eco friendly solution possible! The future is in our hands, we need to think about our children too! Alsow, the other things I mentioned are still valid. ;)

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  Před 7 lety +1

      I agree. Hard to believe though, but thing is that when you look at well to wheel (so all production and energy process involved), CNG is at the moment the most evironmental-friendly solution of all. Let's see what the future holds

    • @slyd8r
      @slyd8r Před 7 lety

      @@slyd8r CNG is better than electric because it can be artifically produced and you don't have to recycle batteries which contain rare materials.
