    Thank you Dan. This video was spot on. Yesterday I bench pressed my own bodyweight for several sets. First gym lifting in over 2 years. I felt great but mild symptoms tried to come late in the evening. So what? Bring it on. Brain - did you see that form, see how fast the bar went up. I'm capable and strong. They went away in a matter of hours. Your videos mean so much. Keep them coming.

    Thanks! I have high levels of pain today. I went for a massage yesterday my feet were moderately hurting not a big deal. While on the table I started having thoughts about my dad being passed away and when I tried to roll over the pain in my low back was excruciating! I thought I might have to leave by ambulance because I could barely walk and my hands and arms were going numb and I was terrified. But I knew this was TMS. Shifting of symptoms and I had done literally nothing to injure myself. I made it to the bathroom to have a talk with the pain so I was able to get to my car with help. Today I’m taking it easy emotionally and letting myself know all the emotional pain I’ve been stuffing is safe to feel. You are such a support in my life. Someplace to come to when I hurt. Like my dad was for me. 🙏

      Thrilled to be there for you in times of need. Good for you in connecting the dots between your emotions about your dad and the onset of this pain. You did the right thing in how you chose to respond to this situation. Bravo.

    Such an empowering technique...haven't been able to master it yet. For me the pain stops my mobility....and that has consequences which scare me. My brain knows but I have yet to master it unless I'm laying in bed....if I don't have to be active I can do it! Will keep working🤞

      @suzyswain402 Před 3 lety +2

      You can start to imagine you are doing an activity while you are relaxed and comfortable and pain free. It fires the same areas of the brain up and maybe next time you will find the activity comes a little easier from the pain free memory ❤ dont know what Dan will think of the theory. I suffer more when I'm still and have spent hours riding in the car pretending I'm swimming laps to avoid pain so I presume it works the in the same way kinda reversed.

    Also when I have had an odd day of no fight flight I don't have pain. Not had a single day off since last year and it's got much worse since January. The last lockdown for over 3 mths nearly tipped me over the edge with isolation which is a massive part of my fears. Can't see a way out of isolation. More to the point I need to be addressing my anxiety then probably wouldn't feel so alone. Plus family stuff is hard too and a massive source of my emotional pain. Can't fix it as not able to.

      Though of this video today. I am an ultra runner and have not ran an ultra distance race in almost 2 years due to issues with mind body. Today I ran 30 miles and while I was running I was talking to my legs because they kept seizing up and cramping up. And I would tell them that we only have one more loop and I'm really sorry that I did not train for hills but we just have to get through. And I swear to God or whomever someone worships that the cramps stopped. Just thought this would be a good story

  • @baileystruss7319

    I enjoy your videos. I do wonder though if you could occasionally move past the symptoms of just pain. There are so many more that are actually worse in my experience than just 'pain' that could be TMS. Nausea, dizziness, GI problems, neuropathies, weakness etc etc. In my experience, these can be far more challenging.

    8:14 I love this this theory Dan. I want to use it for my morning anxiety, my concern is I am currently taking medication for my anxiety (that isn’t working, possibly making me worse so I plan to start tapering off) and that all of this work I’m doing to try and bring my anxiety down won’t stick because of the medication altering my brain chemicals?
    I wish I never took it but was desperate.

    Dan, here's a question relevant to this video: don't you think telling your brain to "bring it on" will end up triggering its Predictive Coding apparatus and that this advice of Dr. Schubiner's runs counter to the central tenet of doing your best not to focus overmuch on tbe pain? How do you reconcile the two?

    Hey Dan wanted to update....Been to my appointment for MRI scan, another wild goose chase of course but pain so bad I was going insane, anyway all clear and he mentioned degenerative and bulging discs but really nothing to worry about or fix. I did ask could these findings cause so much pain and in other patients he said possibly. I know it's tension but still I went for MRI. Equivalent to 15 months of Dan's weekly support I have spent. Madness of course. So I know it's TMS and knew before but chased the medical route and stressed my system the last 4 weeks. Even with reassurance I still have chronic anxiety and this makes me tense like a coil. Now what??? I stress about life's circumstances and this triggers fight flight anxiety and then the tension pain. How do I move forward Dan because this ain't leaving anytime soon.

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  Před 3 lety +8

      That's great news. You now have medical assurance that your body is not the problem. Now you can choose to accept TMS fully. Watch this video on Health Anxiety. You may find it helpful. czcams.com/video/AiscNU-LfZo/video.html
      And please stop telling yourself and others that this pain isn't leaving anytime soon. Your brain is always listening.
