ME: What is my color season?

  • @KDbelieves

The vast majority of people will be categorized as warm because our overtones are naturally warm. Brown, tan, peach, and ivory are warm. You either have to be extremely pale or extremely dark to be categorized as cool. When you use a color picker, it reads the temperature of the color. It's not looking at your UNDERTONE.

"You can ask a squirrel" AHAHAHA

  • @emmaeriatarka

I was actually super surprised by mine. I am a redhead so every other system (apart from yours) puts my into something warm. I've already figured my best colours out and I fall into Soft summer with my hair having lots of brown tones in the red, muted pink skin and grey/green eyes. Chat GPT offered some amazing colour suggestions that I actually already wear and then put me into the Soft Summer season! I was shocked! Lot's of fun but I wouldn't use it to actually determine my season. Instead, if you already know some colours that look good on you, you could ask it to provide some other colours that have similar characteristics and make your own palette!

based on how Machine Learning works, you're spot-on on the fact that it's possible for an AI system to do "colour analysis" after training it on thousands of colour analysis reports. but I feel that doing colour analysis is partly art so it'll never be 100% accurate just as how AI can never produce art.

You posting this after I did mine yesterday multiple times and it said I was every single season out there lol

  • @tereza5211

Funny enough, I work as a Snr AI programmer in VFX. I work with color and machine learning a lot. I don't think the chat GPT is working but I am confident I could write an app that could do colour analysis quite well. First doing white balancing, then analysing the colour codes on hue spectrum in HSV or LAB colour space. Then analysing contrast in the face and hair in gray scale. It's not difficult to do. The most difficult thing is to get the colour tint from the photo (warm lighting etc).

Yesss! My wishes have been granted and you're making more strong opinion videos. Keep 'em coming! 👏

  • @sophiab.282

The SASS xD I loved it. So true, these people are so unaware of what CHAT gpt really is.

  • @Su_120h

    You are completely right

I knew my color season - true winter - prior to using ChatGPT, and when I did the chatgpt color analysis it came back as true winter. I think olive skin tone as you said might throw it off.

  • @carm9716

Ok so I did this a few weeks ago and my initial results were "warm undertone" and it placed me as a dark autumn. I'm olive and a dark winter.

  • @darlamerrill8052

This is why I wouldn't trust a color analisis because I already know I'm cool toned and look better in pink or berry or mauve makeup colors better then the warms. If they told me I was somekind of warm "season" it would be a waste of money. 😢

I love how you show when you are upset. I have been a fan of yours for years and this is just the original Merriam right here. ❤ Fearless and discerning. 🥰

  • @julileni11

Dear Merriam, would you want to do a body typing about Shania Twain?

  • @katblu2870

I was color analysed by you as cool & delicate and ChatGPT analysed me as an Autumn. I put in at least five hex codes for each (hair, eyes, skin, lips, eyebrows) to be as accurate as possible and it still got it wrong. It was fun though. Still cool and delicate.

Hello so I’ve been trying to find a video you mentioned about which you made about “Why the 12 season system is bs” but I cannot find it. Was it deleted it? Because it had touched my interest and most color analysts go by the 12 seasons but this one just makes so much more sense.

  • @zakharovax

I'm curious. If you use the color picker for your skin and copy the code, there are websites that show you how much blue, red, yellow, green and black are in the color you picked. Is that a good-ish method to know if you lean more warm or cool? Love your videos btw ❤

  • @ginadelfina5887

I don’t know anything about chatGPT, but if it is mining the internet in order to “learn,” then maybe it has just absorbed some of the wrong information that is out there (like that thing about “warm overtones with cool undertones,” whatever that even means).

  • @CecaelianSpirit8

I kept seeing a running joke on reddit of AI categorizing everybody as some type of autumn, so I put my coloring hex codes into Bing's co-pilot AI. I was pleasantly surprised when it said I was a cool winter as I've been professionally typed as that twice. I also have a cool olive complexion. My hair is a soft black, and my eyes are a green-gray color (AKA super cool). I tried doing the same thing using my friends, and it typed everyone else as an autumn (which none of them are) 😂 I think your job will be safe for the foreseeable future.
