Guys, I am telling you - the Full report by Merriam was a life changing for me. I can't recommend it enough! She is such a lovely artist. Thank you, Merriam ❤
This is me. Warm clothing colors make me look washed out. Pastels are the worst. Nude or brownish lipsticks make me look like death warmed over. My skin can look gray in the winter as well. It's a confusing skintone for sure. Thanks for this video, Merriam!! ♥
I’ve been telling people at makeup counters that I am not warm for over 30 years. Cool light olive here too! Everything you say is sooo true about cool olives. I look sallow and dead in warm colors. Put me in a hot cool pink and I glow without any makeup even. Thanks for these informative videos! You’re brilliant!
Olive being caused by a yellow overtone makes a lot of sense to me. Especially because I change so much when I tan, in the winter my skin is more radiant but summer comes and the yellow overtone enhances +++ and I look super tired and sallow, it’s as if there are two tones in my skin fighting with each other
"the blind leading the blind" 💀 it's so true tho, so much about colour typing didn't make sense to me until I found Merriam. She approaches it like a scientist, and I'm so grateful for this content!!
What I learned is if you're a cool olive, you must not wear anything colorful. It must always be subdued or pale, faded. with a cool tinge. I've never seen Merriam wear anything colorful. A bit boring, yes.tbh. BUT.. to be fair, her skin SHINES.
Your explanations of skin tone and color are by far the most logical and accurate I’ve found. One thing I’ve wondered about is how to understand a “cooler” orange and a “warmer” purple, especially of they still come across as fairly saturated. Who can wear them and why. If they look equally good on someone, what would it suggest?
Merriam can you make a video like this but warm olive skin? Cause I think I'm cool but I would love a video of the warm just to be sure! You're the best when it comes to olive skin tone, thank you for this!
My yellow skin has fooled me for a while that I’m warm. I’ve had a colour analysis and I’m winter. There are times when I’ve gone pink and white, and I do look really well then. Mostly I look yellow, which does make me look at bit sickly. I look good in purples and royal blue. So, yes. What you’ve said on here makes sense to me and I think I’m a cool and radiant very pale olive.
I was so lucky that 35 years ago, I had a hairdresser who recognized that I was cool olive - long long before anyone else was talking about anything like that at all. I didn’t really understand the “olive” part for a long time, but it saved me a lot of time and probably money because at least I understood that I was cool……makeup consultants at stores continued to try to sell me warm toned products for years until I just stopped listening to their opinion. I’d appreciate hearing more from you about, though, because so many people still seem to assume “olive” means “warm”.

I knew I wasn’t crazy. I’m just cool olive

Merriam I am pretty sure I have ADHD and you're the only person I can watch that I don't have to watch on 2x playback 😅

Thank you! This is so helpful!
I appreciate all the olive skin information. It's true there are a lot of misunderstandings as well as stereotypes about olive skin.
Definitely interested in a longer video!! Yes please 🙏🙏🙏
We love the passion and the insight! Another video where I'm learning to train my eye to know how to recognise cool olive.
