Today we met up with @Thelawncarenut to see the Freedom Factory's grass overhaul. He brought in some of the best grasses on the market, including the same grass the Kansas City Chiefs play on. It really turned out AWESOME!!!

Sometimes it’s the little things. Seeing dirt turn to green and the clouds rolling by like tumbleweed really made my night. That Timelapse was awesome, thanks for that.
I really like how this is now a grass channel, a helicopter channel, a R/C channel, drag racing channel etc. Its a good mix, and all the content is good.

Zoysia is no joke, I've got it in my front yard. I saw the woman that used to live next door to me walking around my yard one evening so I went out to say hi. She was embarrassed that I saw her but said my grass felt so nice she likes to just take her shoes off and walk on it. I told her i didn't mind at all and she was welcome to walk on it any time she wanted. Made me feel good that someone else noticed it and could enjoy it as much as I do.
That's a proud Hank Hill moment right there.

Cleet should open the test stream to the public to really get people pressuring the servers. Maybe give 1 or 2 PPV tickets away during it to really get max people watching. That will be the best way to test the load in my opinion

On those hot summer days Mom and I would sit there with a couple of Orange Crush (in glass bottles) fresh out of the freezer! I helped lay down a 9 hole golf course with hybrid Bermuda rolls! Its hard work running the rakes all day and stiching grass together on that big of a scale! Much respect to these guys!
You can add color to the mounds... Where you planted the peanuts... Like purple queen or California sunrose.. easy to grow n maintain...
The freedom factory is on my bucket list. I don't even care if there's an event, I just want to see it and possibly walk on the infield. What Cleet has done for grassroots racing needs to be recognized

If you want to stress test that stream on Friday, having it being entire open and free is the way to do it.
You'll hammer it a whole lot harder than if only us paid folks watch it. If it survives the entire sub list, then it survives a normal stream demand.
That is a good idea to load test. That said it will triple the data transfer bill. In those events the connection issue is usually not from the edge servers to the user but from the location (FF) to the source server, latency/packet can drop depending on the ISP.
Free doesn't pay the bills he probably spends a half million dollars or more not mention all his employees to make this happen for everyone to come see and watch a awesome race event you can't do stuff free if you want to stay in business

I didn't say make the event free, but the stream dedicated towards testing their online bandwidth. And there's a gigantic difference between the 2 in terms of their use. One is an Event, the other is by his own words a test stream.
If you want to test capacity, then test capacity.

You need to watch some RC competitions. Jase is in my opinion the best 3D plane pilot out there as far as skill & talent goes. The 3D heli stuff is absolutely insane too but a whole different level of breaking physics!

Cleetus! Look into setting up a level 2 network layer. Basically if one router goes down, it’ll failover to a backup router automatically, keeping the stream live, if it’s not already set up that way. Multiple ISP’s are good, but don’t rely on a single router.

That other was laying the sod twice as fast and it looked darn near perfect. I hope that the fine sticks and they stay off the grass.
