You can make this set of wood building blocks in a weekend. It's a great gift and early learning toy for toddlers that teaches them shapes, colors and sorting. Open-ended play also helps build creative thinking skills. More info and free plans:

As much I don't like those yellow push blocks, I have to say, that was very clever ad placement!
I'm subscribed to you!
Nice, very good.
***** Matthias Wandel you guys are so great :)
I'd rather see those lil yellow ads the every video about a pantarouter :(
Well done. Probably start on this project over the weekend.
COOL... I had a cart and block set when I was a kid
I use that same sorting method for cleaning up the shop. Love the colors! Cause kids aren't into fine finished exotics....
True story
Every discerning 3 year old should prefer zebrawood over purple.
This is a lie Peter. You don't clean your shop! ;)
Fr. Thomas Bailey, OSB What if it is not just purple, but purpleheart?
retsaoter now you're talking: purpleheart, ebony, yellowheart, verawood, and bloodwood. The building blocks for the "real" woodworker's children.
very nice and quite colorful!
Thank you for making this awesome video I cam across... haha to the realistic method of how children will "sort" their blocks away... 😂
Boy, those blocks bring back memories!
I enjoy your ideas and videos
Last year I made an Owl Coin Bank. This year I built a cute tool box for my 5 year old niece. I uploaded my build video to my channel.
Great Job, Steve. I've been building block sets for years for my children and relation's children. They make great, safe gifts, and kids play with them for a very long time.
beautiful cart!
Very nice project!
Funny coincidence, I just cut out a set of blocks for my granddaughter. I was planning a box to hold them, but I like the cart idea. My blocks are un-painted, hard maple. They should see multi-generational use, I hope.
Nice Toy for the little ones.
Fantastic job. Children will love playing with it. Congratulations.
Steve, great video! I'm going to make one of these for my son. He's 14 months old. Thank you for taking the time to make your videos.
Thanks Steve! I will build this for my son for Christmas, he is nearly 3 yo and it will be perfect!
That's cute. :) My son loved those kind of blocks when he was little. Now he is into Lego building blocks.

The way you segway into your micro-jig adverts is fantastic! gets me everytime! Haha!
After watching this video, I made a set of blocks with 12 shapes for my own kids and 5 other sets for nieces/nephews to have. An easy project that makes a great gift idea. Thanks for sharing.
very simple and straightforward. just the project for kids!!!
Thanks Steve
That came out very nice!
Wonderful toy for the kids, thanks for sharing, Steve.
Well done
That intro though😂😂😂. I love this channel so much.
Well that looks simple
Hey S thanks for giving us a week off from your { great } videos next week ,means one less project to make I am only about 120 projects behind you ,
G
Great project Steve, my granddaughter will love them.
Really like your videos. That's how I got started doing woodworking when I was looking for something to build and saw your videos.
Ha, lol the push block is awesome....Great project Steve.
Hi from Baku Azerbaijan!!!
Steve you are awesome! I look forward to Friday every week :)
This is fantastic, thanks so much :) Going to make this for my brother's new baby
I can't wait to make this for my little boy, he's gonna love it!
Very cool project Steve, thanks!
not usually fan of painting wood, but this one looked AWESOOOOOMEEEE!!!! =P
Love it. Have a grandson coming November 2017 and I am already working on the modular truck for his first big boy toy. This will make a great addition.
Love your videos
Very cool project. My grandson would love these :)
Great job Steve, you really nailed it :)
Great idea Steve!
I had one of those when I was a youngster and I loved playing with the blocks and made some very interesting buildings on my city map
Good video. I always enjoy them. Thank you!
looks cool
I am a doit yourself-er and kind of a woodworker... but even if I don't make all the things you make in your videos, I can't help but laugh every time I watch one of your videos. You have a great channel. Don't stop making videos because I look forward to your new videos each week.
When I was a kid I had a little dog cart that I pulled with a rope. It was pretty clever it had legs attached to the wheels that would go up and down and I'm not sure but I think the head even went back and forth. I think one of my relatives made it for me. It would be really cool to see you make one of those.
Hi realy enjoyed this video made me a subscriber sir
Steve,
I just watched several of your most recent videos (had some catching up to do), and I have to say that I really love your MicroJig spots. They have me literally laughing out loud. Keep up the good work!
Another great project
Great project Steve, Thank you for posting the plans, I hope you have a great Thanksgiving.
Man, I remember playing with blocks just like these.
Tisk tisk Steve..... I saw that. Be careful my friend. Nice little project.
Thank you.
So cute! The way you put the blocks away like a kid would made me crack up laughing! Spot on impression. I'm so glad I subscribed to your channel.
You are awesome my friend! Thank you thank you thank you!
That is AWESOME! Thanks Steve.
Fun little project, I have a box full of blocks from large toy train that did not come out the way I would have liked so this would be a good use of them. Love the colors and I too use sorting method #2.
Very nice video! Seems fun to build toys.
Thanks it good
Excellent...
Cheers...
A great project to make involving the little ones. They can help with the glue up and painting
thanks StevO!
I had one of those when I was a kid... I think I still have it
Parabéns muito criativo bonito obrigado .
Nice
The paint will look a million times better with some primer. I understand this is just a toy but try it sometime on a project
I would love to see you try a DIY version of these “Tegu” magnetic wood blocks. They seem straightforward; wood pieces cut open with high power magnets in them then glued back together. I bet it’s more complicated though!
Really cool project, one way to make it more child-safe is to cut away the screws' pointy bit and flatten it instead.
Nice project Steve. These types of projects almost ALWAYS find a good home and it gives us "novices" some good wood time behind the tools.
Have a GREAT Thanksgiving. Can you believe it, some real rain in the North Bay??
Can you post a detailed list of materials, and equipments used to make this pull-cart?
How will Steve 'm from Brazil and I greatly admire your hard work .
Can you do a video on how to make some of the jigs and tools that you use. Like your miter sled and other things. It would be really helpful and good to know. Thanks
Hi Steve. Nw that you get into the topic, I wonder how you could meke a "side bed baby cradle"? do you have some ideas? Thank you. I've been watching your works for two years I think.
Ola, tudo bem? Gosto de suas ideias, porem gostaria de pedir que voce postasse mais ideias de brinquedos, para que pudessemos fazer para nossos filhos. Abracos
Pine is my favorite wood.
Did you use a special paint?
And what happened to your impact driver? I just bought the same drill/driver set, I hope it hasn't failed you!
I wish working with metal was this easy
Hi what sort of spray paint you using please . I love your work.
Steve, a table saw and power drill? I would have dovetailed the sides, wheels and blocks left to a natural Danish oil finish. A nice hemp rope to get the parents in a mello mood when putting blocks back in wagon (if you catch my drift).
Seriously, an awesome project my grand baby will enjoy next year. I love the MICRO JIG lead ins, they are what let's me know you have a sense of humor and know I'm joking.
THANKS
Thanks for a great video. I am inspired to build this wooden block push -cart.
Help needed. I'm a novice wood worker.. - and not so good on the Internet either. I am seeking advice on how to buy the plans. Any help would be much appreciated.😮
Yeah, Steve, you seemed right at home using the "kid sorting method". LOL
How about some baby moon hubcaps on the wheels? Just turn them on the lathe and paint them silver or chrome. It would become the deluxe model, lol.
Did you use non toxic paint?
looks nice
Oh man, your intro's, they make me laugh everytime!
Steve, great project. However you may want to weave a stick to the pull rope as a safety feature to keep it from tangling around a small child's neck. In fact, i think pull toys like that have such a feature mandated to prevent accidents
Treat kids like idiots and they will remain idiots.
Then they would poke their eye out trying to look at what's inside the pull rope.
Let's stick with a bit of common sense and responsibility.
You're right chance9050, I was thinking the same thing. A manufacturer could never sell this in a store with that length of rope due to the various laws nowadays. Do I agree with that no. I remember having something very similiar to this as a child with a similiar length of rope. I'm still alive. That's just the reality of the world today.
Sebastopolmark
I have the same problem with my shotgun. My damn curiosity! I blame my Pikachu muzzle choke.
Really like this cart, but link to the plans does not work. Is there another way to get the plans? Thanks!
steve please make bookshelf next week
Hi Steve, what happened with plans both imperial and metric measurements ? ;)
Omg i love these "jokes" at the start...
How thick are the wheels?
Steve - how do you cut the arch blocks? Whole saw then cut in half?
Scroll saw.
Can u make a easy project for mom and dad ?
Does anyone remember when this chanel did things that we could use instead of trinkets?
mtusarmy1 You mean like chess pieces?
Anybody know where i can find projects like this one?
keep getting 30 second non skippable ads on your vids
Finally !! :)
I thought you were going to say push Micro-Jig lol!!
Yeah, that wagon needs taller sides to accommodate the most likely sorting method.
Just add sideboards! They could also be used for ramps.
I once had a foster son who insisted and sorted his toys the way they were originally packaged from the age of 2.
To be honest, it always creeped my out a bit. But he turned out right, no ocds or so.
CologneCarter
Isn't he still your foster son, even if he's living on his own now?
truebluekit If a foster child is returned to the family like he was, then the foster parents are out of it. It is measure to prevent raising jealousies and having the child being torn between two sets of parents.
English is my second language, yet I hope you get what I mean.
CologneCarter I understand what you're saying, though I don't pretend to comprehend the logic.
Mind you, I'm not attacking you in any way. It's just not something I could picture myself doing.
To each our own, I guess. Thank you for sharing. Have a nice weekend.
most kids sort it like this... haha to funny.
What type of paint did you use? Is it safe for kids?? Please Let me know
