How to make a wooden rainbow toy 🎁

  • How to make a stackable wooden rainbow. To make this kids toy I use my jigsaw table and the homemade drum sander. This wooden toy is a present for my nephew, so I am even more happy about how nice and how fun this wooden toy is. To paint the rainbow colours I've been looking for kid safe paint.
The rainbow colours in order are: Red; Orange; Yellow; Green; Blue; Indigo; Violet

Maybe we should start a crowd funding to buy Sergio a bandsaw, if he can do that with his jigsaw. Imagine what he could do with a bandsaw!

I'm amazed at how clean those cuts came. Considering the lack of hard power tools. What a talented person.

Happy New Year to you too. Try sprinkling a few grains of salt onto the glue, this will reduce slippage when clamping.

To keep your boards from sliding when gluing, just sprinkle some table salt on the corners and clamp.

Another trick to stop sliding in addition to salt & pins already mentioned is to use on the part you will discard, either some super glue, some hot melt glue or some double sided tape. Loved how the project turned out. Rustins in the UK sell toy certified paints & varnish.

Hmmm, why not? You can make a thick piece of cardboard if you glue lots of layers of cardboard, one on the other. Then cut and paint :)

Add a sprinkle of salt from a table salt shaker it created higher friction so they will not slide when clapping and the salt will not react with wood or finishes
