Seemed simple enough to understand. They live in a future without pain. So nothing stops them from mutilating their bodies. They took body modifications to the next level.
Stunning movie. It keeps everything drab but never "depressed"... everything teeters on that line, the music, the color palate... a movie with no villain, just archetypal questions... amazing. The "shock" of the "gore" is meant more to strip away humanity to show the basics of humanity (or ask the question.. what is it to be human?)
I feel that this is exactly what we are doing with all the damn madness out there. I won’t watch the movie it looks to out there for me but I kinda understand the concept.
Terrible. Speaks of the generational gap of remorse and repent. No emotion of content. Only contrive of ones lack of affliction towards affliction oneself. No depth . No quality of the feeling of feeling no pain. You could have written death eternal and it would've been a better premise. Two thumbs way down. Clive Barker is art in horror. This is grotesquely boring art.
Cant wait ti see it tomorrow.. Just re-warltched Video Drone Again, which has been one of my favourite films since it first came out when I was a kiddo. Love all his films indeed. chEErs, 93

@@mercesletifer52 Well, yes, whether art is good or bad is a matter of critical opinion. Art doesn't exist in this lofty realm of ideals that are self evident. LOL
They said the same about The Hereditairy, but that movie was boring as fuck. So from what I have learned is that when people talk about a movie like it is super scary, that they run out of the theatre vomiting and get a mental breakdown the movie actually sucks like a motherfucker
The whole "scarface" scenario reminded me of first time I was in Niger, West Africa, where parallel cuts in women's faces were done for beautification.
This man's films are not for the squeamish, for sure, but lordy they make you think, he opens a door to unthinkable questions. I am not sure i can sit through this right now, bc i have a loved one about to go under the knife and all this is too close to home for me, lol. But with all the types of body modifications people do nowadays it does open up a lot of questions
Saw it last night. A film to be experienced, not necessarily understood. Not for the squeamish. I’m no film student/critic, but I’ll say this. It seems like Cronenberg had the idea for this movie, but was unsure exactly what to do with it onscreen. The intersecting plot lines are….diffuse. The plot line with the detective goes nowhere and doesn’t add much if anything. But again, the film is what it is. Probably best not to force conventional expectations and analysis upon it. I definitely recommend, unless unflinching depictions of surgery, abdominal contents, suturing and autopsies unsettle you.
don't forget the squishy sound of guts, and licking of open wounds is an issue for some I suppose. I took the plot lines about the larger world were absolutely meant to go nowhere, or be vague. It was part of the same reason they are in a post apocalyptic world yet nobody ever mentions that once. It adds deliberate uncertainty about that aspect, which may or may not be designed to work as it did for me. Which was to allow you to completely immerse in the story and its character interactions and forget the world around you, as they were attempting to do.

Kind of a bummer to see the (typically) crappy cgi, but still excited for a new Cronenberg film. I had the impression he had unofficially retired from directing.
These words don't even begin to describe this movie ; weird, strange , odd, freak show, freaky asf, deranged, gut wrenching, sick , etc. One of the most "out there " movies I've ever seen . I wouldn't even say horror, it's more like a self harm off the chart self indulgent disgusting pointless movies I've ever seen BUT I ENJOYED IT IN A CURIOSITY CAPACITY SORT OF WAY ,LIKE I NEEDED TO KNOW WTF WAS GOING ON AND WHAT TF WAS THE POINT OF THE GROTESQUE NATURE OF THE MOVIE. THE PERSON THAT MADE THIS MOVIE IS ONE SICK INDIVIDUAL.
You came back finally, David, from the mucilaginous embryos of The Brood, the mutating body of The Fly, the sopping red walls of Videodrome... We have missed you, and especially if you come with one of your earlier works on the hands. We are ready...turn our stomach upside down!
Finally, something for the kids
Hhahahahaaaaaaaaaa great comment

Now this is a great comedic comment.

"they don't like what's happening with my body. Which is why I keep cutting it out"
God that hit me deeply. I have to watch this
I'm glad to see that all the trailers for this film so far have raised more questions than answers given.
Yeah, they remember that trailers are NOT movie summaries! 😎

Not really --- it's more about asking the brood what they want from McDonald's
Cronenberg always gives me the willies in the best ways.
I'm sure you like his willy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@REVOLUTION TV Your guitars suck.
Disney seems to be going in a different direction these days
hahahahaha

David Cronenberg never changes. Whether that's good or bad depends on your opinion of his work.

Anyone know the title of the song?
Edit: Sounds like a different mix of "Odile."
Great movie for the family!
LMAO yeah it’s wholesome and uplifting.
I don't going to lose 5 minutes of my time watching that movie I can tell is suck, better watch mickey mouse classics
Just imagine if David Cronenberg was the director of the Human Centipede that would of been insane 😳 lol
What's the name of the song? :O
Great to see Repo! Is getting a remake!
I WAS JUST THINKING THE SAME
first two seconds I thought Cronenberg,Yesss.
What is that song?
eXistenZ part 2?
Oh sick!
The trailer gave me the feeling something was watching me... I can't wait to see the whole movie.
I got chills running up all over up and down my body
Sorry to inform you, but thats not a chill ...
If u can specify where they ran, isolate them, we can extract them...😱
Cronenberg is BACk. Love it.
Someone know what song is playing
97% conversation 3% porn. better than sleeping apps.
Looks awesome
Can’t imagine what Cronenberg considers a comedy.
Well, when he was promoting Naked Lunch on Letterman he mentioned that the movie is funny, so that’s about as comedic as he gets.
These actors must really need a paycheck.
Good point...
Everyone watching youtube needs to see this.
a future soon upon us

I dig the trailer music

Nice 💖 😊
Is it a remake?
This film gives the same feeling that the censored cartel videos did very unsettling but also curiosity inducing
Except this is fictional and cartel videos depict actual murder... 😐
Looks like classic Cronenberg.
Just because you can do a thing, doesn't mean you should.
Rule 34 bro, Rule 34
Feels like ideas he was developing in Videodrome and the auto-erotic fixations of Crash.
I concur. Don't forget that it was mainly a Greek production and in the movie Crash, the twist character was played by a Greek actor.
What the name of the music?
I do believe it is Crone's usual composer Howard Shore.
Wow, for the first time in long while, a trailer has made me genuinely uncomfortable. Gonna have to see this one
My eyes!!! My eyes!!!
Whos directer writer
I love his films and I want to be able to see this, but nope, I can’t 😫
Why not?
Body bound with the strange cold war film "Possession" ?
Sci-fi movies shouldn't have the horror tag on it... It's not Elm street 😂😂
I do not understand this film at all. Only made it 30 minutes and then shut it off
More proof Cronenberg should have directed Twilight Breaking Dawn.
Well that's about the iest trailer I've seen lol... Piqued the hell out of my curiosity haha
I can't wait! Viggo is hot, & Kristen's not bad. Thank you, Mr Cronenberg!
