The eyes are usually mostly near the center and not moving much for professionals at anything. Its ammeters that look around everywhere. Professionals use their peripherals and instinctively understand a lot of things without having to take a good look at it.
As a Tetris player (not the best but I’ve played in my fair share of tourneys) I honestly don’t really look around too much, maybe if I realllyyyy wanted to screen watch my opponent then I’d be looking side to side but overall my eyes stay on my board

I used to say I was amazing at Tetris, but this video made me very humble...
We are no match for tetris gods
If you're interested, there are even players even better than wumbo which have skills that are nearly impossible to comprehend. For example, czsmall0402 (#1 in the world) and diao (also known as icly, #2 in the world) .

I had my playback speed on 1.5 from another video I was watching and I was like.. wait a minute, this guy's impossibly fast. And then I realized he's still almost impossibly fast but 33% than I was first seeing haha

actually, since normal is 1, that would be 66%
I had the opposite from you, I was watching a trailer on 0.25x speed since I wanted to catch the details... I went here, played it, then was just ashamed. I thought I was decent, but at 0.25x speed, he was playing faster and better than me. I now realize that they are called "Gods" for a reason, mere mortals like us can never comprehend their thoughts and actions.
Funny thing is people can actually play at 4.5pps. Not all the time but sometimes they’ll average it for a match.
If you watch this video at 2x speed it just looks like he could slap cook a chicken in 2 seconds tops

As a bored kid who used to play Tetris on my school chrome book, I have major respect. I was never able to get to the really fast speeds but now I see the strategies you implemented.
