True. The video is still entertaining though.

Gotham: you can’t attack a stone wall with horses
Mongolia: hold my beer
Tbf in the case of the great wall they literally just went around it.

Can we just take a moment to talk about how much Levy has been popping off lately? Contents been consistently brilliant despite how much time he already gives for streams. Here’s to 1 mil!
Totally agree! Honestly I don’t understand all the haters, we are getting top notch content, entertainment and chess lessons for free. And compared to what others say,I actually enjoy Levy’s banter and cockiness...with the grind he is on, he deserves all the success coming.
Popping off, what it means?
@@taco6649 Popping off means doing really good

A tip for when recording the “guess elo” series.. pre-determinate a time format so that you’re actually guessing the elo.. not the time format..
That's smart
Good idea!
+1
This needs to be pinned
I’m gonna reply so that the comment gets recommended to more people. Alright, adios.
I love how people who don't like GothamChess still watch his content
pin gambit
Why don't ppl like him? Any story?
I need a story on this please
@@whitelion3209 well a lot of people dislike Hikaru, and by extension, Gotham, since he worships Hikaru. That's what i got from Reddit, might be inaccurate.
@@panteleymonschekochikhin-k1978 what? how does he worship him lol, they seem to be stream friends but thats it
I learn more from Pogchamps, than GM games fighting for a draw.
True, and elitist people stay salty against Pogchamps
Given that most of us watching arent GM level players, that’s understandable and reasonable. The level which they play at is similar to ours and also means we often will make the same mistakes, whereas GMs play on a whole other level. Just like how GMs analysing beginner level games gain nothing, us watching GMs fight for draws also lets us learn nothing.
It makes sense, I learn a lot from the "guess my elo" series, its so good
I can learn from them a lot actually, but only if Levy analyzes them
How have u consistently created good content minutes after the games happen
Not even the cia has that kind of secret information

@@nol2521 I'll just copy paste my previous reply for you:

@@SinoMaticPayne Fair enough, could have been both though. I thought it'd make more sense if the victors said it, they'd poke fun at the Trojans too while the losers usually don't want to talk about that
Let's take the time to appreciate how much more fun Levvy makes chess, thankyou 🙏
18:37 xqc couldn’t run his king to the other side of the board tho. Pawn and Bishop cut him off
I was looking for a comment on this, thought I was losing my mind
Yes! I havent looked at an engine but it seems like xQc is just lost at this point.
If he moves to the left he gets mated as Levy explained. If he moves the rook so that the king can move to the right then from what I can tell he eventually is forced to lose his rook or worse... I think.
Not sure though. Just late night observations
Thank you for doing all these recaps, it’s really helpful as although I want to watch live it’s really hard in my timezone, but I can watch these whenever!
13:50 how did this get so deep so quickly
10:27 FYI: Sardoche played f4 here because Blitzstream told him so just 5 minutes before the beginning of the match, to get xQc out of Hikaru's preparation ^_^
Really? That seems like cheating
@@TheDJMaffi It's dumb to say your strategy on live 2 minutes before the match begins

15:18 Levy’s rant about horses 😂
I'm glad to see that you have grown so much as a channel. You have helped many players like me get more into chess and play better. Keep up the great work and I am looking forward to watching your videos years from now on!
His recaps come out as fast as his channel grows. He'll be at 1 Million subs by the end of May. Mark my words.
i hope so
By the end of April I bet. The man is a content machine
So long as chess stays relevant and tournaments keep happening, I agree completely.
almost there!
hell yeah so excited to watch this, you work so hard levy and i really appreciate these inspiring and instructive videos! sending love from the uk!
I don't play chess (yet) but I started to watch a lot of your videos recently.
I'm so proud to myself to see such things like the attack with the night at 3:35, which is covered by the bishop, Queen, and Rook!!!!
By just watching your vids makes me understand the game a lot more, it's like another world!!!!!
Thank you!
13:58 Levy’s so wholesome. What a guy.
You're really entertaining. A lot of your descriptions of how low elo people would think when taking is exactly how I think. But you're not only making it comedic, but also incredibly helpful. Thanks a lot!
Really helping me focus on improving my chess game instead of studying anatomy and fysiology btw. Thanks for that too..
3:20 Levy is not just making chess sound like a boxing match... it’s turned into a boxing match
True
Chess boxing indeed
Levy doesn’t know how funny he is with these metaphors and jokes😂😂
"That knight has not moved since move 2" Damn that reveal gave me chills!
Ever thought of separating the London and Tromp course? I’d buy the London one
Thanks for all the free lessons on CZcams lol. I’m thinking of buying the e4 course too. You have reignited my love for chess a while back. Once again, thanks Gotham
How do you put out so much content and not go insane? Your work eithic is incredible my man and your humor is impeccable. Ty for getting me into chess again!
13:56 Thanks Gotham, needed that today
I hope you reach 1M subs. You are doing a fantastic job, even if it's low level chess game but you commentary is something else!
Gotham just heard Hikarus "MOVE! MOVE!! JUST MOVE!!! THE CLOCK IS A PIECE!!!!!!" when rushing to make this video.
that chrome extension is hilarious and very useful
damn so fast with the recap
Love this video. Super informative!
"I care about you and so does the GothamChess community"
I care about you too, Levy.
thanks levy. these type of videos really help even though i’ve been playing since i was like 6. seems i’m still tiddysauce at chess but i think these help
Learning so much from these analyses, thanks Levy!
Let’s go! Loving this coverage Levy! You are by far the best chess streamer!
You're so educational, honestly the kings indian defence already got me 100 elo, i gained back what i lost trying to play the kings gambit lol
kings gambit for the best 😎
Gambits are kinda tricky when your opponent knows how to punish you (or you just being unable to transition into a good middle game).
Thanks for the videos!! They're very helpful.
13:57 wtf I wasn't ready to cry during this match
New to chess in 2021, Queen's Gambit and lockdown brought me here, lol. Just wanted to say, your teaching style and rhythm combined create an easy to follow and entertaining lesson everytime. Keep it up, because of you, I surpassed 1k ELO, and am still climbing.
You're awesome, Gotham, great recap!
Keeping calm and not compounding mistakes is a major lesson to learn in not just chess
Another Great Commentary Levy ... Thank you !!
How the hell did you do this so fast
Thats what she said
man"s on fire with the content, we love to see it!!
Gotham posts so fast and i love all of it he my new favorite youtuber
15:18 you can’t break a wall of pawns with horses
All jokes and insults aside, from a learning standpoint you did an excellent job with your analysis in my opinion. You managed to explain their mistakes in probably the least insulting way possible, which is not easy to do. However, I am sorry to inform you that i'll still be giving you a thumbs down due to lack of 'Bing Bang Boom's used in the video.
ok
@Yasir Kahtan nobody loves you
Lol
@GothamChess levi I love your reviews but there's this weird high pitch sound that your mic generate everytime you talk, im not sure if this has been there all the time and im just noticing it but letting you know
still love the content tho
This video even though wasn't of a magnus tournament showed the amazing analysis and teaching skills of levy.
#respect
You know I would love to see Gotham do this kind of commentary on historically infamous past chess games. I think he would be good at it.
15:28 litterally ww1

@@thebus3181 maybe your right
@@filipatoothless7860 True, but Sardoche has been grinding and getting coached daily, and rightfully so. Only xQc would ask Hikaru for some coaching 10 minutes before his match in which he hasn't got any through the entire event and months leading up to it...

For future reference, Donald Cerrone’s famous combination knockout was against Rick Story.
My dude has been kicking ass with daily content lately!!!!

3:25 I believe he’s talking about the combo that finished Rick story. One of my favorites all time
He’s so wholesome in the middle of the recaps lol I love it
Love the pins of shame! Thanks Levy!
14:00 not even joking that took me by surprise and was quite an adorable wholesome moment.
I was waiting for the punchline just to end up feeling like I'm part of a community. 10/10 would recommend
15:30 Poitiers, Agincourt, Waterloo, Balaklava
The game was excellent, the recap and lessons even better!
funny thing is hikaru went thru the game 2 opening with xqc right before the match, but didn't warn him about playing knight to c6
Sardoche vs el dwighto will be a crazy final
I think it's likely that we will have this or another Benjyfishy vs Sardoche. Those three seem stronger than the rest of the players.
@@Koboldmaki15 Logic could also be strong if he plays consistently

I watched this live and still watch the recap cause it's hype af
Bro these videos are so educational
Haha when you have 1 minute in the clock comment was hilarious! Keep it up Gotham! 👍🏾😃
Last time I was this early xQc was still getting mated in 6

It’s like Stockfish vs Alpha Zero Playing the Bughouse Variant
Levy must have been a great teacher before he became a streamer.
Levy wants him to run through checks in the end, 5Head move 😂
Yo im early to this video so I just want to say great content Levy, I am a new subscriber tbh but im loving all of it, I'll be here to stay for sure :)
awsome to see some lower ELO games, finally i actually understand what they're thinking:D
7:33 Just wanna mention that black could take the knight with his Queen and check at the same time (Qxd4) saving his own Queen.
lmao the video came out before the game even started
15:30 low-key sounds like the charge of the light brigade if the wall was a shit ton of cannons instead
Is there going to be a recap on the Dnegs Benjy match-up?
Can someone plz tell me in which vid levy said "you re more worth than a queen" Thanks in Advance and thank you Levy for puttin out so much high-quality content that i loose track after a few days!
Best example is Takeda Calvary charging into Nobunaga Oda’s wall of muskets. Not a stone wall, but same effect.
Bro the reveal of the unmoved knight was the biggest callback in cinema history
Also doing very poorly at the box office is _The Gender Reveal of the Unmoved Dark Knight_ (but someone will probably see it a second . . . or third time.) - j q t -
I know Levy only does one match per day but I do hope he also covers the Benjy Negruano match because that was great!
there are times when it is your turn to lose, and not completely you always win
Waiting for the line "welcome to the gotham chess recap video"
6:42 mans stopped drawing the lines once he noticed what he was drawing
that motorboat made my day
Respect for the Cowboy Cerrone reference!
Cleanest combination in UFC history imo
I think it would be better to attack with the bishop first and the knight last so that we fork the queen and the rook at the move around 3:40
Please explain if I’m wrong
Gotham is the best. I always have such a good time watching these videos. God bless
gotham on a grind rn
7:34 he missed the free knight and queen
The thing that I love the most about this is that we can SEE the development of the players. xQc, improving on his position from his game with Pokemane. And quality, quality stuff, as always, from Gotham!
Seeing people puttng their knights in front of the queens pawn hurts my feeling everytime
Gotham Chess best chess channel of 2021!

He even admitted his defeat and not brag about the loss, he is humble about it
"I can't claim my victory if I cannot admit my defeat -PM Lengyel
Yeah. X said he would of been mald if he lost to anyone else but because sardoche is playing non-stop and taking it extra seriously; he didn't mind losing to him.
19:22 idk Levy, I don't motorboat when I blunder, just you
