    I like how most of what Daemon and Otto have to say about each other and themselves is a direct correlation to their dynamic.
    I truly feel Daemon's final days were full of him reflecting on his life, and the conversation he and Aemond had before their last duel placed a finalistic character summary upon the Rogue Prince;
    "You have lived too long, Uncle."
    "On that much, we agree."

    A great video. I love the fact that you acknowledge all the faults of Damon and the truth to what he is. Daemon definitely groomed his niece and their relationship is NOT a love story. Daemon and Otto are the same person when it comes to power and manipulation. Also love the fact you point out how RT and DT dont care what other people think and are ruling by fear and nothing else which divides half the kingdom to siding with the greens. It really makes you wonder whether Rt would have any support if people didn't swear oaths to her.

    I never took the "Heir for a day" comment to be an insult. I understand how it would feel that way to Viserys. It feels like a poeticly bittersweet acknowledgement.
    He was heir. But only for a day. Thats truly tragic. All he could have been was taken from us. It doesnt seem a malicious toast in a room full of drunks. In that line heir for a day is also an acknoweldgment from Daemon. He was heir. Daemon would have probably done anything for that baby boy. "We all mourn in our own way."

    I love this analysis of Daemon and agree 100% with everything stated here. All i wanna say as an extra thing is.... Been a Matt Smith fan since he played the 11th doctor.... I have seen the controversy regarding his casting as Daemon before the show aired.... And all I wish to say is that i am so glad to be right. Sure, he might not have the aethereal looks of a Targaryen as per the book description... But Matt is a character actor, and DAMN did he know how to play Daemon. Good analysis. He is slave of his own blood and dinasty but he should be free from that by the end cause of Nettles who tear down all his beliefs about Targaryens. The problem is that people is romanticizing him too much and is missing the point of the character saying everything he does is for Rhaenyra and family when actually he doesn't give f. Ep 10 made it very clear. The only person he truly loved was his brother Viserys and if Rhaenyra wasn't his daughter he wouldn't even been interested. His goal might not be the throne for himself like in the book, but it's revenge against Greens and Otto and Rhaenyra opposing to him was the last straw. Daemon is that kind of man that can be your greatest ally if you agree with him, but dare standing in his way and he'll quickly become your enemy. This is why he's grey and best character to me and GRRM as well, cause his beauty is his complexity. You can never know what he does you can never know if he's really by your side or not. He's a double edged weapon. He's a threat to Greens, but also his own family cause his chaotic nature push him on doing things on his ways. He indulges his insticts always, even if he does know Rhaenyra or else is against of it. Approval or not, he doesn't care. He does what he think he's right. So, yes he's slave, but also free cause does the things his way. I've read the book and im excited to see him in S2! Matt did amazing job on portraying him but especially i feel like he understood the character perfectly. Defenitely my most anticipated character of the season.

    "The difference is daemon actually loves his brother." Are you sure thats a difference? Maegor never betrayed aenys, he could easily have killed him and taken the throne but he didnt. Maegor rode the worlds largest dragon which after aenys' death absolutely bodied his dragon. He also wielded both blackfyre and dark sister. Aenys was a sickly man whom would have stood no chance against maegor. Yet maegor never tried to get the throne when aenys was alive and even accepted his exile. And its not for lack of ambition as the events following aenys' death clearly show.

    Honestly, every single fan should watch them.
    A lot of people get so lost and cling to the surface aspects of the story that it's a shame so many characters get reduced or dumbed down to their basic characteristics in their mind.
    This story is so amazing because every character in it has awful traits but also they are understandable in the most human ways.
    I like all of them because they are written this way and not in spite of that.

    I have to respectfully disagree with your argument that the war had not yet begun when Rhaenyra was considering peace with the Greens. The Greens had already killed multiple people (even leaving aside the stupid scene with Rhaenys and her dragon at Aegon II's coronation). Also, the very act of crowning Aegon when Rhaenyra was Viserys' declared heir is a declaration of war in this universe. It's treason to crown an illegitimate monarch; it's very much a usurpation. Troops may not have been marching to battle yet, but the war began the moment a crown was put on Aegon's head.

    With all due respect, you completely miss the mark with Otto Hightower. The guy almost singlehandedly caused the Dance of Dragons. Daemon was right about him all along. He was the only one who saw the Dance coming years ahead of time and nobody listened to him. The entire war wouldve been avoided if Daemon had been made hand.

      You really think making a murderous, immature, spoiled brat Hand of the king would have avoided the war? For all of Viserys' shortcomings, even he knew making Daemon hand was a bad idea.

      @@amorojaz27 Lol Daemon might have been all of those things but he also saw the Hightower train coming down the track years ahead of time when Viserys had his head stuck up his own ass. Not saying Daemon wouldve been a great hand, but he absolutely would have prevented the DOD and by proxy would have prevented the extinction of dragons and most of their bloodline. Also worth noting, the many thousands of common folk and lords who died in that war would have survived. Not sure if you're a huge book reader or mainly just a show watcher, but the DOD was pure devastation. The realm was destroyed by the time it was over. Made the War of 5 Kings look like a jousting tourney. And it all could have been prevented if Viserys wouldve taken Daemon's words over the weasel words of that rat Otto.

      @@williamhermann6635 it doesn't change the fact that Daemon is a terrible choice for hand, and if Viserys had any common sense he would have gotten rid of both him and Otto for good.

      @@amorojaz27 He didnt even have to be named hand. All Viserys had to do was listen to him cuz he was right about the Hightowers from day 1. I dont care what role Daemon was in. The man was right and he saw the war coming while Viserys was too busy trying to be everyone's friend. Viserys was weak and Otto/Alicent played him like the mark that he was. That never wouldve happened if Viserys had kept Daemon close.

      @@williamhermann6635 Alicent was just trying to get her husband to see Rhaenyra for the spoiled brat she is. Otto is more manipulative of Viserys, but he's 100% right about Daemon not being suited for authority, although Otto himself shouldn't have been Hand either. Again, Viserys should have Otto beheaded, while having Daemon gelded and sent to the Wall. And have Caraxes' wings clipped for good measure.
