I've seen a lot of videos explaining table tennis techniques, most of their actual skills are pretty good, but very few of them can explain the principles and points clearly. You are one of the few, and the best I've seen. Thank you for your nice videos.

Thanks for the video! And... I can relate so much with that "short ceiling" problem. Damn! :)
Great video! I hope you keep making these serve / receive videos as I've found to be one of the most difficult aspects to improve as a beginner.
For sur Glad it helps
Very useful. Thanks.
Thank you for your tips, help me much
My interpretation of the movements done while tossing up is this: By swinging forward and then backwards, one can hit the ball within one fluid motion. If a player would toss high, then immediately pull the racket back and wait for the ball to drop, they would have a problem to time the proper point of contact. Because of the pre-motion they can use the momentum of the racket and turn it into forward momentum. Same reason why all players swing backwards close before accelerating forwards again in their BH- or FH-loops.
And also, more simply, it helps with the timing. Imagine just waiting for the ball to drop. By internalizing this motion the body can keep that motion to the length required for one to start the real swing forwards.
Sry for bad englando.
YAAYY Great ideas!!
Very informative THANK YOU!!!
Wow a proper explanation :). This is out for 4 days already?? How I haven't seen it :p, very nice vid :)
So something I think is important to mention is that Jun's serve that jumps to the side has what's known as corkscrew spin on this. Some people might argue that corkscrew spin & sidespin are the same thing given most sidespin serves might have a little bit of both on them (side spin & corkscrew) but trust me there's a difference. If top & backspin rotate around the X (horizontal axis), sidespin rotates around the Y (Vertical axis). Well corkscrew spins on the Z axis. Picture a ball spinning on the axis going through the straight back of the ball and coming out of the front of it. That's corkscrew. That That's what makes the ball bite & jump left or right after it bounces on the table. It's done by contacting the very bottom of the ball and typically swinging say towards your stomach.
That's a really good point, I probably should've mentioned it. But I tried to simplify it and I think the third type of spin having the rotational axis of z-axis could be produced by combining the motion of backspin and sidespin.
I'll try to clarify it maybe in the next vid. Thx for pointing it out.
Its not a test
How do you generate corkspin and backspin? What should my racket angle be at contact?
You Rock I LOVE U, U taught me more than my teacher
Love your videos 👍
Good lesson. Your serve is impressive in it's placement and how low it stays.
Thank you @.@
Great technique
Hello, do you think I could use the end of your video to make a side by side video of myself serving for a new ping pong video I am looking to make?
Let me know when you can thank you
Mine mine, such a beautiful serve!
WOow THX
Thank you ,awesome.
keep it going, liked your channel :)
OH I am in 1 minute and i already love this!!!
LOL thug life
very nice serve
Brilliant!
Can you please make a video on service receive??
How can we receive various types of serve
Again, for sure; stay tuned; coming soon!
Tomorrow Table Tennis [Non-profit] Thank you sir
Basically you need to know the vertical and the horizontal spin of the serve. If it is a pendulum serve, you want to push it to your opponent forehand, and vice versa, if it is back spin you want to open your racket, and vice versa. There are 2 types of horizontal spin clockwise and ccwise, and 2 types of horizontal spin top and back spin. You can combo that to have 8 different spin and a no spin serve which is 9 different types of spin coming at you, which will overload your head if you try to read it to hard. So the key is to receive the service with your instinct, and if you fail then instantly think about how you can adjust your racket to match that. So if your opponent has 9 different serve and you cannot read them in your first try, you gonna lose 9 points. However if you are familiar with your opponent (maybe because he's your friend or somthing) like how world class players are familiar with each other, then you can have a better receive. That also mean if you have 9 different services then you will earn lots of points without even having to know how to play the game
Ur video's r too good ....one suggestion from my side is ..at the end of video mention the key points.
service receive is too large a topic for one video on. It all boils down to how well you can read their spin. If one specific serve gives you trouble, have someone serve it to you over and over and try different things out
Good Job :-) like it
Awesome.
so coooool!!!!!!
Really nice video, subscribed :). I have a video suggestion for you which I think I and many others would appreciate. It would be to analyze top players serves in games and read what spin is on them and maybe reconstruct them or something like that :D. A decoding video of koki niwas serve would be nice too. I would also really love a vid on the pendulum side/topspin serve and how to make it less obvious. May I also ask what level you are at?
Merry Christmas! :)
REAlly good sugggestions!! I trained in China before moving to Canada. I play for Ontario team but Im still a student so.. gotta focus on study first LOL
ahh did you start playing in china? how long have you been playing for and what do you study? :D haha many questions
AMAZINGGG
Can you do one about positioning it is reallyy importanttt
Sur coming sooon!
Youu aree truely the best table tennis channel on youtubee
Btww Nice thug life edit😂
Great!
The reason to toss the ball high can be that this way the ball falling down is a bit faster compared with tossing the ball not so high. András
Could you make a tutorial about Kenta Matsudaira's/ Koki Niwa chop block?? :D
Very nice
Awesome
hey, nice t-shirt!
The motion of coming forward first allows u too generate more whip in your serve which results in generating more spin
Yes but not too big tho
ok
hey mate love your vids, could you please make a video on the reverse pendulum serve
Yep!
I do want to quit "mastering my mistakes".lol Entertaining and educational. Thanks.
Thank you ^^
The arm that moves forward then backwards and the forwards again represents a whip. It gives some extra speed to the ball
YEE Right idea!
0:48 it is not magic, it is...
PHYSICS
"Oh God! The ceiling is so short!!"😂
Can you decode Fan Zhendongs's reverse sidespin serves? Thanks!
For sur, stay tuned!
its not a backspin sidespin serve its a so called corkscrew serve right? i think u name it correctly in either one of ur serve videos or the tactics video about mizutani. cuz ive been wondering a lot about this serve and been practicing it and the way the ball accelerates to the side of the table indicates that it cant be backspin cuz then it would slow down. so its basically side spin and then topspin parallel to the net which is the third axis of the ball to create spin
at the end of video. great heavy backspin serves shock me.
Where did you get the posters from?
uhh a friend lol
Are you going to make more videos about Professional Player's Serve?
It would be very interesting some defensive player serve ^^
Any specific suggestions?
I would say Joo Se Hyuk, the classic defensive that we all know. His serves are quite unique ^^
I want to see you vs ma long.. At Prof matches.. Thanks for your help..
Please make a video with top spin practice with slow motion
Where did you buy these poster in the background of the video
Uhh don't exactly remember, got it for free somewhere or someone gave to me..
Thank you to reply me for this question i have seen your all video and also downloaded but i dont understang the movement of wrist and brushing
um... can you be more specific? Which part do you not understand?
Tomorrow Table Tennis [Non-profit] no this is a only thing which cant i understand
ummm move your wrist in the direction you want the ball to spin and brushing means to put as much spin on the ball as possible.
Amazing sir iam a 12 year boy and i am learning from you tt
Since i started practicing this serve... I have to keep my eye on the ball at the point of contact with the bat... So that it hits the head of the bat to generate more spin.... Else it hits other sides of the bat and goes wrong..
But once u toss the ball... It seems u see the ball when till it is moving upwards....
But during the downward journey of the ball.. Don't u see the ball???
Ur video's r too good ....one suggestion from my side is ..at the end of video mention the key points.
THX! Good idea!
I find the extra motions is mainly about timing for me. Could you do a backhand serve video?
For sur!
With what are you playing (wood + rubbers) ?
Viscaria T05
Tomorrow Table Tennis [Non-profit] Ok thank you :-)
Can I do this serve using cheap and hard chinese rubber?
Can you do one on MA longs service and liu shiwen jab service ?
For sur coming soon!
Болтовню не понимаю, но подачи крутые.
what will be the grip
Which is racket used for 'jun mizutani' serve.
For high spin
I am using Viscaria. Usually, wooden rackets give slightly more spin.
where are u now man?
Can u do fzd/zjks reverse. Mine is sloppy
For sur, stay tuned!
Liu Guoliang's serve (both closed and open stances)?
Good suggestion, I'll consider it! tHX
Can you make the video of my question
You can make video. How to serve like Timo Boll? Thank You
In future vids!
Can you do forehand and backhand chop?
As a chopper or just pushes?
chopper
If you could fix the volume it would help
Can you make video of serve which are practice in home without tabble
Uhh you can practice any serve if you have a racket and a ball. Just serve on the floor or bed. I mentioned it in "Decoding Malin's ghost serve" video. Brushing is v important so practice that.
молодец!
the higher you launch the serve ball the more energy it gets back .. Thu the more side spin and speed it gets too.
cooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool.
ok.
Like joo see hyuk chop
PLEASE DO REVERSE PENDULUMS LIKE ZJK OR FZD
OK!
Is this serve easy to attack
Depends if you put backspin or topspin on it
please teach me how to serve like fan zhendong...
OK!
It's physics , think about A three dimensional Cartesian coordinate system, Origin ,X , Y , Z axis that we genereally know. Secondly, think that rotation around this axis, RX, RY, RZ or Roll, Pitch, Yaw . Assume that origin is you, X is the line start from you and goes to opponent, Y starts from you and goes to the left, Z starts from you and goes to the sky. Here comes to Issue, WTF with this info :D Generally players spin around Y, RY, pitch, back-topspin or Z, RZ, yaw, right-left side spin. But Jun Mizutani's service is RARE, uncommon. he makes spin around X, Rolling . Wow! %75 Rolling %25 backspin.
Here is my theory to answer this service, answer the service assume that ball is witout spin, i mean just answer with backhand or forehand banana flick. But, if you try to put your blade under ball, ball will bounce up high, go right or left maybe out of table. This is theory because i've never taken this service :D
Pup video
racket forward on the toss- to get acceleration i think
Good point!
No dislikes yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeea boiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
takayu are you sure
Your Mum a month ago it didn't
