  • What's the best tractor for mowing your property? After watching this video you may need to look no further. I test, review and compare the Kubota BX2380 mowing with the 60" mower deck RCK60B-23B.

      I noticed that too, hence the video. Lots of people are going zero turn for mowing but that's a one trick pony and that's not for me, way too much work to be done. Thanks!

    Congrats on the new tractor, I love my BX2380 but I decided not to get the mid mount mower for it, I didn’t want the hassle of taking off and back on when I wanted to do some loader work. It’s a great tractor 👍🏻

      As I think I mentioned in the video I already have a larger tractor with dedicated FEL and box blade. Bought the BX for lawn and snow and so far I'm quite pleased I did, its been fantastic mowing acreage, thanks for watching and commenting :)

    Truly an excellect video and I thank you for sharing it. I was looking at a Green x 738 and it's cost is comparable or, even a tad more, than a 2380, which then becomes a no brainer since its comparing really a very expensive lawn mower to a sub compact tractor. Tractor wins.

    What I've found with a standard lawn/garden tractor is in a full lock turn it tends to push the front end out due to the front wheels just sliding on the grass.
    I have a BX2680 which I've had for about 9 months, just going over to pickup my 60" mid mower this weekend. Can't wait to get it and give it a try. Like you I've had lawn/garden tractors, so the BX is my first garden tractor with a diesel and 4WD LOL. I only have an acre, but have managed to put 40 hours on it with chores around the house and a little bit of snow clearing this past winter. This tractor is definitely going to get used in the future as more projects arise and chores that need done. I went with the BX due to my property size, and the storage space I have...to get in and out of my barn/shop I can't have anything too large otherwise it won't fit through the door, nor would I have enough room to maneuver around inside either...working on that issue a little right now, but even at that I will still have limited space.
    I have a lawn tractor which will still take care of the mowing duties as my front yard is pretty small to try and use the BX on due to the trees, but I can run the BX out in the pasture part of my property which is why I got the mower for it....plus I've got a couple of co-workers that have asked if I could do some mowing for them as well.

      the issue of sliding could be reduced with a more aggressive tread even in 2wd. the typical riding mowers always come with cheap tires though. i still have the problem with an even larger 33hp diesel in 2wd if i cant get the grip.
      regardless enjoy that bx, they are little tanks, an acre is a small play ground but i'm sure you'll get creative for jobs lol

      @@GarmingGFB I just picked up my 60" mid mount mower this afternoon and spent 4 hours trying to get the stupid thing hooked up. Nothing was lining up, and the front mounting bracket locking pin wouldn't go into the hole either, took a lot of adjusting of everything, but once I got it all adjusted, its extremely easy to install and remove...not sure why everyone says you need to turn the front wheels I did it with the front wheels straight ahead, as a matter of fact the deck caught on the right front and rear tires when I had them cranked all the way to the right....deck rolls very easily on its anti-scalp wheels to roll it in and out from under the tractor.
      I have all sorts of tasks for that little tractor, and will probably pickup a few side jobs with it here and there for friends and family.
      I bought it because I was tired of trying to lift and carry stuff around myself, the pallet forks are a huge help, I use them more than the loader bucket.

      @@wildbill23c yep, hardest part of mower deck is hooking the pto shaft, rest is pretty smooth and you get better every time, and yea having a lift capability is a huge game changer. I've got a larger kubota dedicated to loader work. can never go without a loader now.

    I like to see a Zero turn that uses implements such as snow plower, and Tillers. I am too used to Zero turn for cutting grass.

    You need a Kubota F2690 awd 72”. Front mount mower with easy access to maintain the deck and blades. Can also mount snow blower on front.

    So how does the 60" deck look quality-wise? I assume it is a stamped deck rather than fabricated but would hope it's a bit thicker and stronger than a regular stamped lawn tractor deck?

    • @GarmingGFB
      @GarmingGFB  Před 2 lety

      It's pretty strong, the biggest issue i've noticed isn't really the deck it's the tractor is so strong that the deck would be the first to fail if you get me. Tons of power behind that mid mount pto and diesel for a mower deck. It won't wanna stop if you hit something. It will want to act as a brush hog which is bad news for mower decks. But that's not the decks fault.

    how do you like the ride of the BX while mowing? how smooth is your lawn? how fast are you able to mow?

    • @GarmingGFB
      @GarmingGFB  Před 2 lety +2

      I mentioned it near the end of the video around 10 mins I think. It's about as comfortable as you can get without getting full suspension or an air ride seat or something. The lawn portion is smooth and a decent ride but the pastures are a little bumpy as is to be expected. Regarding the speed, I can mow full speed to the point where mowing large areas I actually need to slow down for 90 degree turns so I don't cut the turf or get tossed off, about 9mph, for mowing that's pretty quick.

    • @wildbill23c
      @wildbill23c Před 2 lety +2

      Just mowed my pasture for the first time with my BX and 60" mower and it did great, but like every other riding mower, it don't have any springs for suspension so you bounce around if the ground isn't nice and smooth. I tried mowing in low range but seemed too slow, kicked it up to high range and about middle speed which is about 4-5mph and it did just fine even in 6 inch tall grass.
