Awesome work mate. We focus so much on what refs get wrong but never when they get it right and complimenting it
I'm personally a big fan of Ben Whitehouse. He's completely intolerant to nonsense on the field.
Great video, pal!
Really don't like him as a TMO but I've always rated him on pitch
Ben Whitehouse has grown on me as a ref- wasn't a fan of his style when he first broke through to prominence, but he's developed his skills. Talks clearly and concisely to players and coaches alike.
Football really needs to learn to respect the refs like this. Absolutely lovely reffing🔥🔥
Honestly we are just as bad as fans. The abuse they are getting is terrible
You say that but rugby fans and coaches are awful to referees these days
This is the most important position on the field. The abuse to the referees needs to stop because without them, there is no game.
I love refs that march players 10 metres. Sometimes not used enough.
Art of communicating
Twice in that world cup semifinal Farrell cost England either a penalty or an extra 10m on an SA penalty. That man does not know how to speak with (not to, its teamwork) officials
And then people wonders why het gets so much abuse from crowds and fans.
You cannot be angry at the image you see in the mirror.
He’s escaped so much for his dirty play throughout the years. I’m so happy he can definitively look at himself as the reason England lost that semi-final.
If only all the idiot fans sending online threats to the wonderful men and women who referee our game could understand the huge damage they are causing .......If you have played, you know it is sacrosanct that you respect the ref. Anyone who doesn't, player or fan, should probably just leave and follow another sport. We don't need you. Enjoy the football.......😉
Good interview Ben
unbelievable that water boy at 5:43 . who the hell do these guys think they are
Water twat more like.
See what I did there 😊
Is that World Cup footage in a video on CZcams? 😂
If football have refs like these. It would be less diving
Can we have referee working as a team? Like the one I think is in 6 nation or WC where the AR disagreeing?😊
*France vs South Africa*
Thanks, refereeing ! T_T
LOL
I sincerely hope that Luke Pearce and Ben Whitehouse make it crystal clear to a team before a match how exactly they'd like to be spoken to if a player or staff member wishes to tell them that they're mistaken. (And then hold up their part of that).
If you're that picky, you need to be very clear.
Luke was perfectly right. Richie has no business there. When there's a PKs, the offending team must retreat 10 m immediately. If you have a question or the ref wants a word, then either the ref stops time or you go and talk to him when the ball is dead. You don't go up to the ref and say "he was off his feet". That's not your job.
Whitehouse was a little harsh. A curt word to the sense of "don't do that again. If the TMO sees something, they'll tell me". The PK was maybe a tad harsh at the time.
That first referee was n stuk k@k😂
Three international captains showing why they shouldn't be. Completely unable to talk positively with the referee. Ritchie, in one clip, showing why he was stripped of the job, and Farrell, why he wasn't fit to be a captain. Basic stuff done badly.
is ironic it's the same 3 refs over and over again. Maybe they're the problem haha
That Wales v Argentina reffing was a joke.
Liam Williams was sent for a HIA,after the ref said the head high tackle was innocuous, what nonsense.
It was Nick Tompkins
Have to say I think Matt Carley bottled that, especially when Ryan is a co-captain so had every right to stick up for his player
No, you can't talk to the ref straight away at PKs. If the ref wants a word, they'll stop time and find you or if you have a question, you can go to the ref when the ball is dead - Penalty time is playing time. It's a well-known tactic that captains talk to the refs at PKs to stop the opposition from going quickly.
Also, the ref has every right to reassign captaincy if they feel the original captains are being uncooperative or not dong their job appropriately.
To hell with rugby union. The TMOs have completely ruined it. League is better now.
Um, no. That's a huge stretch.
😂
