You can't go wrong with Tebay Services. The view is outstanding. Burger King,Mcdonalds &KFC charge a small fortune. Atleast you get fresh ingredients in a nice clean restaurant served by people who want to be there. Not angry teenagers making some corporation £Bs.

Pie and chips costs at least that much and often more in most pubs. That said, I wouldn't have thought that the price of their meat and groceries would attract enough customers to maintain viability but, presumably, it does. I have visited their Gloucester services on a few occasions and I have found it to be a far more pleasurable atmospheric experience and refreshing alternative to the mini shopping malls of globally recognisable fast food and coffee shop outlets that now infest our motorway network as well as everywhere else. These aren't particularly cheap either and none offer anything requiring a table, a chair, a plate and some cutlery, let alone the pleasant surroundings complete with duck pond and some interesting architecture.

I’m sorry Lee, but you’re wrong. All the Costa/Marks/McDonalds cookie stamp services are at least as expensive if not more than the Westmorlands, and crucially they are much worse value for money. Tebay is only ‘pretentious’ if that means it’s a higher quality than the shit they serve elsewhere on the network. They now have five service areas in the UK, and I would never use anywhere else if they had more. Frankly this is the most unfair food review you’ve ever done, and that’s really saying something. They should be applauded for going out on a limb to give the traveller a superior choice and much better value for money than the chains. You’re always slagging off Starbucks and McDonalds and then you do this to a company that really tries to do something a little more original and much better quality. Highway robbery? As you might say, shame on you. Obviously just struggling for some original clickbait this week…💩

Crunchy Peanut butter MacMaster but with salad cream in a Sarnie, spot on:) Don't ask how it come about. As a kid Teabay was our favourite stop, Old man in Navy route to faslane for his boat. Teabay has changed since I last visited. Bearing in mind Teabay has own farm shop would you expect a pukka pie? Agree with you on weak gravy, Pie like that should be thick gravy that you have to lick of plate, just like Nana use to make, showing age now :) Chips well every service station goes for cheap option as in frozen, but would you pay extra for double or triple cooked chips? Question for you MacMaster as your a foodie like me. How about a vid on supermarket meat verses the Traditional local old school Butcher which is better, pay more or pay less? I think you will be surprised?

Yes Tebay is rather expensive. On a recent trip to Shap Abbey, we stopped for some chilli pork pies which were dear but delicious and we bought some lamb rolls which were minced lamb wrapped in pastry. I cooked them at Shap Abbey on the camping Gaz stove flipping them in a ridge monkey iron pan. They were delicious between some Lancashire bottom muffins. We got some dirty looks from the sheep though, probably because we ate their cousin Bryan. Fair comment about charge points and disability, as a disabled chap I have no such problems as the wife puts diesel in the car. Oh the range you can get in just 5 minutes.
