Update 🚨Oladance announced a Pro model and Shokz added multipoint with a firmware update 🙏
thanks for updating this!
I love the Oladance, wicked sound. The case doesn't have a battery but it IS a charging case, you put power into the USB port on the outside and it charges the buds without taking them out of the case. With 19 hour play time it's really not an issue to plug the case in once a week or so, I just keep a small power bank in my gym bag.
Great review! It is good that you weren't scared to let us know what you like the best out of the two buds. A lot of CZcams seem reluctant to say what they think is best in comparison videos.
I am loving your videos. Very well done. Subscribed!!!
So Awesome, thank you!!
Great review! Thank you! 🙏🏻
Really appreciate it. Working right now on the Shokz Open Fit vs the New Bose Ultra Earbuds that just dropped this month.
I ended up buying the open fits and I really enjoy them. I've owned a lot of headphones, both over ear and buds, and these are top notch. Super comfotable.@@Aesthetic_Al
FYI: Oladance announced the OWS pros a day after this video 😅. Also dropped the price on the OWS2 to $149.
Will you test ows pro? seems like the price is almost the same as ows2 because case is with charger 😅
When your comment reaches 10 thumbs ups 👍, I will make a video on the OWS Pro haha @@Rootish
@@Aesthetic_Al well, I just ordered it anyway as I can't wear earplugs it seems great but expensive alternative.
@@Aesthetic_AlWould be cool to see your take on the ows pro!
You got it! mine arrived on Monday and I am using them everyday as my daily drivers and workout. I'll share my experience soon@@ChiaDai
I absolutely love my Shokz OpenFit. They are soooooo good!
THANKS FOR THE REVIEW
I just bought the the newly released JBL Soundgear Sense this month, and I think it is currently the most suitable earbuds for me, with the sound quality feeling better than the Shokz OpenFit and Oladance OWS2.
Great review, you nailed it! On all points I agree. I certainly do wish the OpenFits had a more robust tap feature (more choices for each connected device) and that slide volume control. And the Oladances with that crazy-long battery life! Wow. But I, like you, agree that several hours plus a charging case to extend charge is better (Shokz). 🙌
The Shokz have impressed me during 4 weeks of use. They are quite simple, and they are a bit slow to respond to taps, but the speakers are as good as those in the Sony over-ear XMRs. Using the Poweramp app I have created a setting which increases the bass considerably, and the Shokz speakers can handle it. The thing I have had to learn is that you switch the Shokz on and off by taking them out or putting them back in the case. They are delicate little things to handle but on the ears they are visually discreet - and I don't have to worry about them falling off my ears. And I remain largely aware of what's going on around me.
So spot on! Agree with you 💯
The battery dies too fast
Very helpful video thanks a lot
Glad it helped. Been using now the OWS PRO now for a month finishing up that video in a bit.
Nice review!!
Thanks Jasmine !
So now you need to do an update vid! Shokz mulipoint vs Oladance Pro.. 😁
Amaz channel bro ❤
Does the firmware update come through the app or how do you get it?
may be in the minority but I returned the OpenFits after a couple weeks. They hurt my right ear where they “dig in”. Also I was told the calls sounded bad. I got the Oladance OWS2 for $149 and couldn’t be happier. Much more comfortable, don’t hurt at all, longer single use battery and the calls no longer sound bad to the same people in the same environment. Thanks for the video!
All of this is great feedback. It was difficult comparing batteries on these two because I can see it going both ways. They just announced yesterday the Oladnace Pros. maybe ill get a pair when they become available.🤣
I agree with you 100%. I purchased both the Shokz OpenFits and the OWS2's and tried them both for a week. I too ended up returning the Shokz OF's. After a few hours, the Shokz hurt the back of my ears while I forgot the OWS2's were even on. Also, the bass on the OWS2's are clearly better. I'm not an audiophile so I'm not sure how to explain the bass on the Shokz OF's other than there was a weird tapping or vibration sound at times. Also, the multipoint connection for me (in the OWS2's) is a must as I'm always switching from my laptop to my phone. I'm not a fan of the touch controls on either of them and found myself unintentionally touching them quite often. I would love a more tactile option. The OWS2's are not as sleek and compact looking and don't come with a charging case, but I found the other factors far outweighed the aesthetics.
I also preordered the Oladance Pro since my OW2 are in the return window
@@chrispatrick690 Me too!
I had the opposite. I went back to the Open Fit because the call quality was much worse on the Oladance than the Open Fit. Also the battery life on the Open Fit has been great, I alternate them and get through the day with no problem.
I have an issue with my pair of Open Fit. When sound is more than 50 % there are lots of bass distortions... Like the speaker would be overloaded... And it is very disturbing while listening the music...
The shokz microphone sounded a lot better to me. The little background noise I heard maxed out and "clipped" with the others not sure if that's what it's called, but that's what I call it. Heard a similar noise with the shokz test and it didn't do that. They were also much more clear and less muffled sounding.
1 more point to Shokz! thanks for the feedback brother. I am hoping they can add Multipoint connection on these soon!
@@Aesthetic_Al Agreed. I've had my eye on these shokz and I'm very close to pulling the trigger.
The Oladance have been awesome for me since I bought the charging case to compliment them. They last forever. 😎
Thanks for sharing, and I honestly wish the shokz has the same controls as the Oladance. Love how responsive and the volume controllers .
@@Aesthetic_Al since the Shokz Openfit got its newest update, it’s performance and functionality is way better than before.
Man good video just lost my one ear bud shokz open fit. Really bummed.
Right after you said "3 2 1" a commercial started for Temu.
Nice review
Thanks 😊
Hope it helps
Do you think you could do a video of overall pros/cons for these types of headphones I'm trying to do some research on what I should get, but you don't do numerical ratings or list pros/cons in print in your videos very often. I think it would help a lot pls and thank you
YOU GOT IT!! I've been using the Olandance Pro for over 30 days now and I'll give it a shot filming and editing in that style! I'll have it up hopefully next week!
I’ve been enjoying the Shokz.
Which sound better?
The one thing you didn’t seem to mention is the audio cutting out. I am on my second pair of Oladance ows1. I tried the ows2 and returned them for the same issue. The audio cuts out all the time. There’s been a fair bit is static and then the speakers stop playing and then start up again. Oladance recently came out with a sport model so I bought those to try since they’re waterproof and it’s the same problem! I’ll be listening and then there’s loud static then they stop playing for a bit and come back. Oladance is currently in the process of replacing those too. It’s unfortunate because the longer battery life is amazing. I am trying out some shokz open fit now. I don’t love that the battery isn’t as long but, they don’t seem to cut in and out like all of my Oladance do. I guess I’ll be sticking with Shokz open fit. They’re actually more comfortable as well.
I've had the ows1 and now the ows2, never had this issue before. If it's happening to you with the ows1, ows2, and even the pros, it sounds like it's an issue with the device they connect to and not the head phones themselves.
@@Mawin69 I have an iPhone 14 and the shokz don’t have a problem connecting , same with other Bluetooth headphones I’ve tried. The kickstarter group for the OWS sports has many members who are complaining about the exact same issue so I believe it’s a problem with manufacturing or something more like that.
Shokz doesn't have the multi-device connection? I have air and it has that feature.. 2 devices
The OpenFit doesn't have that feature unfortunately. That is one of the biggest drawbacks in my opinion. idk if they can add that via firmware updates. I emailed and sent a few DM, can't seem to get an answer.
It does mave multi-device function now after a recent firmware update
Can you connect the Shokz to an Apple Watch?
I have! to my Apple Watch Ultra. Works just like any other bluetooth headphone/earbud.
I'm shocked (pardon the pun) that anyone would even consider the Oladance when they are trying to nab for another 50 bucks on an already fairly pricey set of headphones. I have the Shockz and they I am fairly happy. The "next song" 3 second hold is a problem for me though. At the gym, not so much. Riding a bike or running, yeah, I don't like taking my hand off the handle bars for 3-4 seconds when I am doing 20 mph. I assuming most of are using in places where they want to be aware of their surroundings, like outdoors, at work, in a gym, etc- so I don't get why having two devices hooked to via multipoint is a big deal for some, even though I agree it should be there at this price point.
Really? I can't see a single reason to choose shokz over oladance. Oladance is cheaper, $119 on sale every other month. Even with the $50 case its still cheaper than the $180 shokz.
Shokz battery life is atrocious for open ear buds. Like Really 7 hours come on. I would have to charge these back in the case Twice a day. I take calls all day so i can't just tell them to wait for my buds to charge. OWS 19 hours is a life changer. 14 hours is my minimum. You can even leave them out of the case all day long.
Then there's controls. I usually detest Earbuds tap controls and disable them on all my Galaxybuds, but the ows massive touch pad is extremely accurate for some reason. Swiping for volume works like 99% of the time.
Then Multipoint. Not a deal breaker but its nice to have if you need it.
I objectively can't see a single reason to pick the shokz unless someone just liked the sound quality or the look etc
I honestly love the OpenFits! Have Blown me away totally. Once they add Multipoint it will be a complete wrap
🤞🤞 I hope they do!
Shokz nowcan multiple pairing via it own application
Yup!! And it works well! Next I hope they can tweak the touch controls
Multipoint is definitely a deal breaker for me. I need it when working to hear my PC and phone. I heard the sound quality of the Open fit when they were called Open Dots and they sound very good. Give me multipoint and I'll get a pair
Valid Points! I hope MultiPoint can be added via firmware update. 🤞
My Open Fit came with multi point connection right out of the box. I've had them for more than a month. No Fit issues either, half of the time I forget I have them in
Those rechargeable cases drain really fast 😅 I'd rather the good battery life for earbuds
Shokz >
(For the purpose of this video)
But my airpods still alive so I’ll stick with those
shokz, won't buy them until they offer multi point.
Hopefully soon 🤞
I feel like any earbuds over $150 should have multipoint connection honestly
I have tried both of these and they both had to be sent back because they were killing my ears.
Aww 😞 What issues this did you have and what are you thinking on trying next ?
Multipoint means nothing to me. So Shokz all the way. No brainer.
I appreciate you sharing. Solid choice
19H ON each ear.....o.o take my money
The Oladance Pro have a crazy long battery life worth checking
Shokz are only ip54 not ip55
