    This came up in my feed. I've been listening to the Aerofit and Aerofit Pro for about a month. Both are very good for what they are. Simply put, if you're a person who put together an actual audio system in your home that doesn't involve MP3s, buy the Pro. No question. Better everything, and I don't mean more bass. Better articulated and deeper bass, sure. More space between instruments, more low-level detail, a more natural tonal balance. This is with its DSP engaged via its app. Without the DSP, as with the app's custom EQ, all that does out the window. Of course one can use an external EQ and maintain the DSP's operation. I don't see the need, personally.
    The non-Pro Aerofit, especially on sale, is a winner. If you're NOT a person who tries out various cables in his home system, these are great. You get the big picture with sins of omission, sonically, warm upper mids, they're comfortable to wear, cost effective, and I preferred their user interphase to the Pro.
    As for their phone performance and the like, no idea. I play music with an occasional podcast. Good luck. FWIW, I bought the Pro.

    Great detailed review, thank you. I particularly took note that you tested the switch to mono when using only one ear bud to see that it was not working as advertised on the Shokz - appreciate your attention to details. If you get a chance, I would like to see a comparisson pros/cons on bone conduction (e.g. Shokz OpenRun Pro) vs, open-ear air conduction (e.g. Soundcore AeroFit Pro). And if you can include in your testing process operating the controls using thick gloves. I am looking into which to get for upcoming ski season and trying to understand which version works best under a helmet and using with ski gloves on. Thanks you!!!

    • @insidetechltd
      @insidetechltd  Před 6 měsíci +3

      Thanks a lot! Sure! I have those here in the studio too.
      So the first two major things are 1. the open-ear earbuds sound much, much better than the bone conduction ones. Bone conduction always sounds muffled (because the sound is vibrating through your body). And 2. I think they are more comfortable too. This does very person to person but there's no clamping force around the head with the independent earbuds vs the bone conduction headband. I'm personally not a fan on the neck/head band because it's just asking to get caught on something - especially the Shokz OpenRun Pro design which doesn't sit snug against your head (unlike soundcore's adjustable neckband on the AeroFit Pro). I imagine that could be annoying under ski gear - definitely the earbuds should be better there.
      As for the gloves test:
      Obviously the button on the OpenRun Pro is nice and easy to press with gloves on - it's distinctive, larger and clicky. Soundcore's AeroFit Pro button is rather small and obscure - could be hard to press. Both may hard to press if the gloves are super thick. But Shokz the safer bet there.
      I don't think the better controls outweighs the benefits of the earbud design though - so even if you don't get one of these two, i'd recommend that style of earbud over the bone conduction neck/headbands

      @@insidetechltd Thank you for your detailed reply. I think you are spot on. I ordered both. Just received the Shokz Open Pro and am impressed by how small and high quality they are. Sounds is good enough (knowing to lower my expectation given bone conduction technology limitations). I am receiving the Soundcore AeroFit Pro on Monday.
      I am actually foreseeing the least budget-friendly decision of keeping them both!
      Using bone conduction for biking, skiing (whenever situational awareness trumps audio quality). Using open-ear for general use (walking, yard work) when situational awareness is not as important as audio quality.
      (I wish the Soundcore AeroFit had better, more accessible, buttons!!)
      Thank you for your quality video reviews and thoughtful feedback!

    Great review. I live in Asia and the weather year round is mostly hot and humid. Looking for earphones for long term daily indoor and outdoor wear without the sweat annoyance cause by in ear buds and over the ear head phones. I had a chance to test the Shokz and found the vibrations tickling my ear annoying but sound is acceptable for podcasts and background music. That's it. Suffice to say i didn't purchase the Shokz. The AeroFit Pro might fit the purpose. Your review answered many questions i had about both products. Will buy the AeroFit Pro. Thanks.

    On my Shokz Openfit I've noticed up to an 8 second audio delay with multi point on when connected to my Samsung Galaxy Fold4 and Nvidia-SHIELD TV Pro. When I leave my home or far enough distance from my Shield the delay goes away. Along with the audio delay the double tap to play stops working, pause feature works but play does not. I have not heard anyone mention this issue. I don't have much experience with multi point other than my various sets of Galaxy buds and none of them have this issue. I wish I would have experienced this prior to Best Buys short return window.

      Thanks a lot! I'll likely do a big comparison of all the best open ear, ear-hook style earbuds and i'm sure Oladance will be in that group too. I was thinking of putting the 'Pro' model in though, not OWS 2. Would that be alright? Or would you still want to know specifically about the OWS 2 model?

    I picked up the AeroFit Pro and was out looking for EQ settings to try out some different sounds. Was your EQ just to demonstrate it or is that how you listen? Did you just tune it by ear or did you use some kind of tool?

    • @insidetechltd
      @insidetechltd  Před 6 měsíci +1

      That was one of the real EQs I was using - I later toned down the highs a little but left the bass and mids as they were. I do often change to suit the genre though, and I almost always tune by ear

    • @insidetechltd
      @insidetechltd  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Hello, I saw this and your other comment and I think what would fit your preferences best is Devialet's Gemini. The combination of sound quality along with noise reduction (the ANC is deceptively good) should give you that immersive quality you're after. Great bass too but not at the expensive of overall sound quality.

    I just listened to the Shokz Open Fit earbuds at Best Buy - so glad they had them hooked up for customer demos. Unfortunately, I was very underwhelmed. They seemed somewhat comfortable, although the rectangular shape was pressing against my ear cartilage and causing some irritation. Sound quality was unimpressive for the price. Hardly any bass at all and the mids and highs seemed too bright and harsh for my liking.

    Shokz has a bug, and this was from their support mouth, it has some delay in hearing sound specially with videos from tiktok and utube or whatever, you will hear the sound bit late and not matching with the video or the movie. and this is a common issue that's why I sold this and got my soundcore which definitely much much better

      Mine have been honestly terrible. I've been debating returning to REI vs submitting for a replacement. On video calls at work it regularly drops into an impossible-to-understand robotic voice for 3-5s then back to normal. And every once in a while just one side gets a delay so they are off from each other. It makes my head swirl.
