- So after many questions and requests, I finally got a video put up showcasing how to wire up and activate your sync function/mode for your Whelan Liberty LC Lightbar! Let me know what you think, if I missed anything or if y'all need more help!

Thanks for the videos. Very interesting and helpful. But how do you get the alley lights to flash? I have a liberty bar with LEDs takedowns and alleys. I have the takedowns to flash but can’t figure out how to make the alleys flash.
If you are activating your WHI/Blu wire for the flashing patterns, they should flash, if they are not, more than likely what you will need to do is essentially utilize the wire and change patterns to see if that will change the setting of the activation wiring and see if that activates the alleys to flash. I believe they have a total of 4 flash patterns and 2 of them are just the takedowns flashing so more than likely, you would just have to change the patterns of the wire and that should help.
I noticed action flash is active when not synchronized, and switches to comet flash when you activate the sync wire. is it necessary to activate all light modules to be synchronized, and then use the scan lock to reprogram? I haven't had time to find an old LC liberty and try this yet. Great video, thanks
You can program each lighthead individually for their pattern selection but once you activate the sync wire, any lighthead that is powered on will sync. As far as reprogramming the sync wire to showcase a different flash pattern, I believe so you can yes but I can retest that this weekend to be 100% and let you know from my display model.
You have four flash patterns with the sink activated it's the same on the freedom IO board but without sync you have all flash patterns available
I have a Liberty LC, with 4 light pods in the front, 2 reds on left, 2 blues on right. I cut the green/black wire and used it for the sync wire, was able to get the bar to sync left and right, but now the two outboard front light pods aren’t working. So now from the front it’s only the two innermost light pods that are flashing, but in the diagram the green/black wire is labeled as inboards? What do I do?
All you have to do is remove your violet wire which triggers to dim your light bar on pin number one take that out and use that as your sync wire
What type of power supply is required to run the light bar on a bench?
Easy thing you can do if you would like is just a regular car battery. Or another option you can use is a AC to DC power converter. The one I use for my setups on my displays and test bench is the Tripp Lite PR60 power supply.
when wiring, what does the term or abbreviation for "TA" mean? "White-Green TA Right"?
This typically means your Traffic Adviser.
Fixed the sync wire on my lightbar. When I activate the sync function the flashing takedown dim what could cause that
Sorry for the late reply, hope you were able to determine the cause of your issue. If not, what fuses do you have in your wiring? What amperage are you pulling when you have everything activated and do you have enough amperage and voltage for the bar?
Where did you get that switch board from?
The switch box I was able to locate one locally but you can find them online as well I'm sure. Most of them will have wiring extended out the back that you can tap into for the different setups of the lightbars. This particular one I was using I also modified slightly and added an extra switch.

I'm sure there probably is a way to hook-up like an electric heater like a window defroster setup to keep the snow off the lightbar. I'm not exactly sure of the setup but I am sure there is a way to do something like that.

With the large power and ground connected when I touch the small wires to power nothing happens the bar will not light up at all any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Hard to say without really seeing the bar or what you have hooked up and how. Have you looked through the circuit board to ensure no popped fuses? Do you have everything properly grounded?
What does the ox input do
Which part are you referring to when you are asking about the ox input? Are you referring to the AUX input?
If you are referring to the AUX or Auxiliary instead of "ox", that depends on what you have hooked up and how you have your bar configured. If you decided to hook up additional lights or something else that you wanted active while you were running the Cruise Lights / Auxiliary / White-Orange wire, you then have to select what mode you wanted in regards to the White-Orange wire being active. The three modes I am referring to are low/dim cruise & Auxiliary both active(default)
, high cruise/full power & auxiliary active, or cruise mode off with auxiliary only being active.
Is the power wire to synch the lights use 12 volts or does it have to be reduced?
The power required for most of the bars is setup for 12vDC...the amperage will depend on what is being used and how much the device will pull.

Pending your configuration, I would presume yes if you have a way to connect those heads to the board inside.
i have my liberty apart and i don't have any circuit boards in mine why? now what?
Sorry for the delays, if you don't have any circuit boards in yours, either yours is a different model that has each lighthead wired to a main harness that you have to supply power to individually through a switch box or if you have a power and ground with a cat5 cable on the outside of the lightbar, that means the board must have been pulled and never replaced back.
I have so many lights myself but ive always wanted a valor if you ever wanna trade? I collect older lights.
Oh nice, how many do you have in your collection? If I come across another Valor lightbar, I can definitely keep you posted. I'm still looking about for a few bars myself trying to collect and add to my collection.

@@satan3090 Very nice! I only have about 18 lightbars in my collection currently. Those Whelen Delta Rotabeam bars are awesome as well as the Federal Signal Vision SLR. I would not mind getting a hold of an SLR bar either. One bar I'm keeping an eye out for which will be a while is the new style Whelen Liberty 2 CHP style or maybe the Code 3 Pursuit but as far as some of the older style, I have been deciding on a few different styles likfe a Jetstream/strobe, areo, twinsonic possibly, advantage, edge 9000 duplex just to name a few.
@@rjracing38 well the older bars is where I am well versed i have all thosebars your looking for i have several aerodynics I have a 12 strobe whelen duplex with 4 takedowns and 2 flashers in front and then the arrowstick amd flashers in rear I believe its a 9622 plus I have a 14 strobe ultra i have a 10 strobe jetstrobe. I also have a few code 3 sd and a 5 rotator advantage if u ever decide to trade when it comes to older bars I have whatever you need its getting to a point I wanna downsize and keep only the bars I really want most of the bars i have are sitting in storage so this is why I'm always looking to trade however my holy trail would be the oscillating advantedge and the mars aurora but a man can wish.
@@satan3090 Wow, yea you definitely have quite the collection for sure. I will definitely keep you in mind if I can come across another Valor bar in good condition. I have seen a few but they want almost brand new pricing in which case, I'd rather call my friend with Federal Signal and customize it the way I want for about the same price. I bet your collection is quite the shrine.
