- Or 300kg for the rest of us. haha
This epic journey of how a Joke turned into Thornhill's Fork (even on Google maps)
This 7.3meter fork is definitely a jump up in scale from the spoon. Definitely opened up new dimensions to what we can do in are small shop. I think ill have to work out a bit before I can start using it though.
Massive achievement all documented and amazingly edited by Aaron Wahab. This would never have happened without us joking about saying ahhhh 6meters is too small.

We couldn't have made it if it wasn't for Michael letting us use his plasma, trailer support and advice. Absoulutly huge thank you!
/ mkweldingltd
It also definitely wouldn't look as good if it wasn't galvanised so thank you to highland galvanisers!

For helping me put it up on my building nice and carefully so I still have gutters, Broatch construction!
(you all have seen my driving so this was a life saver)
and thank you very much to all of Thornhill for putting up with me Hahaha

Hahaha awesome! Probably saw it before me!
Nerdforge! 🫵 ❤
Ummmmmmmmm..... Fe, Fi, Fo, or Fum gonna be pissed when they find out that's missing! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@BIGJATPSU boooooo!
This feels like a joke with the lads that someone took way to seriously. Love it.
Fork handles 🤣
Hahaha yup, I think I agreed to it jokingly after a couple of pints
@@Moondog-wc4vm Four Candles?
Imagine driving down the road and just seeing a giant fork go past you. 😂
The video quality is fantastic and the project is INSANE! Now, you HAVE to do a spoon!
For sure
Ohh no I have had quite enough of cutlery for a while haha
He 6ft spoon which was what led to this! Following these 4x rules does this mean a 96ft knife is next...
And a knife!!
I don't think I've ever seen anything as majestic as it coming up out of the hot dip!
I know the shimmering and with all the steam and music, honistly so great! So glad they let us film it
Hats off to Nate for not forking anything up! And to the editor for the music.
Ohh I forked plenty up, Aaron is really good at editing Hahaha
This is the first video of yours I have seen, and I really didn't expect the level of professional craftsmanship you put into making a 24 ft fork. You didn't just make it, you made it the best it could possibly be. Well done.
I know nothing at all about metalworking, welding or large form art but wow, was this interesting. The music was perfect. Loved it!
Now you have a reference for when you need 'a fork for scale' to prove you're truly a wee lad
Yeah I was just so fed up of making everything look small so its nice to have the reverse haha
The fact that you never made a joke about needing a forklift to lift the fork is such a missed opportunity😂
Seriously though, amazing job and hats off to the editing too
I dont know how I found myself here at 1:30am, but im now very invested in this ridiculous fork
Haha they are the best sort of rabbit holes! Glad you like it ahahha
Papier-mâché. Look into it. All kidding aside, it is a magnificent piece. I really enjoyed the format of the video. Much epic. I do like your technical explanations when you do them.
Honistly thats such a good shout!!! So much easier! Really glad you enjoyed it! Ill make sure I keep doing them then (pretend I know what I am talking about) hahaha
This looks like something straight out if a fantasy or sci-fi movie, pared with your guys cinematic shots, I would see a movie with this haha
Couldn´t this be a real world record? Would be worth to check this out and maybe you could get a certificat!
Naw I dont think its that close to the world record, but we will have to go for one one day
This is an absolute hidden gem of a video, and an awesome project. Great work, and looking forward to going through all of your other videos 😃
Thankyou! Definitely the latest ones with Aaron editing are the better ones but you'll Definitely get some laughs going through them!
Incredible work guys, as a fabricator i know the pain it is to make something like this. the videography is also very good. keep up !!
Haha yeah you know the pain then! Almost broke me haha yeah the filming by Aaron is insane
Finally using the forklift for its intended purpose
Perhaps you spent too much time asking whether or not you could, you forgot to ask whether or not you should... 😂
The craftsmanship is incredibly impressive especially for something so silly and the videography and editing is probably some of the best I've ever seen on CZcams. Wow.
Nice use of music in the edit, your professional feel is really coming together. Watching that fork being galvanized was ultra satisfying. Keep it up dude! Do you know how heavy it is?
That is incredible.
I honestly didn't expect such quality and size and heft. When I saw the thumbnail I had no idea.
Good video editing too!
Hahaha yeah it plays tricks with your mind a bit!
Yeah Aaron, responsible for the video did an insane good job
Now you need a giant plate of baked beans to go with it
Don't tell Aaron that he'll make us make them haha
criminally underated conted!
Call the polis
As a knitter, I was immediately distracted by that awesome sweater.
Haha yeah its awesome, my mum dyed it, spun and knitted it! My favourite jumper
The creativeness and craftmanship on this project Nate! My goodness, amazing! And not only because off the size off it ….
BTW, video and editing too superb when you’d ask me 🙏 Thanks again for sharing!
Yeah I definitely think two masterpieces were made the fork and the video, I'm thrilled you really enjoyed it!
That's amazing!! 😄👍
Haha thankyou it's definitely something!
Wow that is amazing. Great job. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Forge On. Fab On. Weld On. Keep forge lit. Keep Making. God Bless.
Thanks man I definitely will!!
he explains each step so well that now i am CONVINCED i can do a gigant fork.
I'm still laughing. And I hope it does not crush your gutters up there. Now for the rest of the set. Knife, spoon, fish knife, koffee spoon, cake fork, etc... 🤪
Hahaha no way am I making the rest of them! Broatch put it up so carefully barely rested on them but I had to take it down to get that cover photo and I wasn't as gentle (he made it look easy) but they are still there haha
finally, my youtube rabbit hole has landed me somewhere magical
It'll look even cooler once it sinks a little into the ground after it rains a lot.
Haha like its sinking into a cake.
Did you seriously make a giant fork just because you could?!
Amazing
I dont think there are many reasons to justify it, and this is the best one Hahaha
@@natesforge it’s impressive lol
extremely underrated video, i love absolutely love the cinematography!!
Aww awesome thankyou so much! Came together really well!
oh my goodness that is such a wow video. well done you two young men. The filming and creation is so amazing. (sorry its taken me a few days to watch......I was a little occupied with a certain young mans Spring Fling weekend !!!!! (I did love helping out and chatting to some wonderful people who come and a very special mention to Mrs Stewart who came along - she was Nates primary 3 teacher THANK YOU MRS STEWART .... YOU ARE GREAT.
the idea is so stupid but the execution is impeccable, and I am obsessed
Been waiting for this ever since I saw the pictures!
Haha yeah I think the video came out better than the fork to be honest haha
I don't believe you can cut the mustard, Nate. I WANT A KNIFE! Good work.
No please no more giant cutlery haha
WOW! I just came from nerdforge's video and I NEEDED to see how that giant fork was made - awesome job!!! :O
Still can't believe they shouted us out! Crazy!! Really glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent work guys. Where is this fork? Gotta go see this. Video editing and music were superb.
So if you type in 'Thornhill fork' on Google maps it will come up with it! Yeah Aaron out did himself apsoulutly epic!
Nerdforge's vid brought me here and wow great video n just everything & amazing fork hahah... this video deserves way more views!!
Haha they are a great channel! So grateful to them! Thankyou hopefully it will get there soon!
woow fanstastic project and execution!
I just found this channel and assumed it would have atleast 500.000 subscribers before checking. Considering the quality of the videos the views are criminally low
Hahaha thankyou! Hopefully soon! But Aaron is an amazing videographer!
your editors made your epic build into an epic vid! great all around
Next up, a huge soup ladle that doubles up as an outdoors bathtub?
You know what I could go for one of these at the moment haha
Great build and video. I love your comments about what you learned!
And I definitely learned alot on this build!
It's forking awesome! For fork's sake.
Yeah its not forkin bad hahaha
This is amazing and needs more views! Such a great job
Everyone needs big fork in there lives
Absolutely superb video, edit, product and captivating mate....
Thanks man it turned out really well! Its even now thornhills fork on Google maps to haha
Amazing project!!!! I love a lot your channel!!! epic the fork on the road!!!
Yeah it was a pretty random but great! Thankyou!
Waiting for your next projects 😍
Well I hope this next one will do it justice haha
Just need Renicks to make a large sausage to go on the end of it😄
Great video, well done👏
You know what I might just message them... haha thanks
Excellent work on the fork and the video. Quality 👍
Thankyou very much! Definitely a big step up for both of us!
August 16, Just saw you featured on Escape to the Country with Alistair Appleton as host. You showed two guys how to make tiny houses. Greetings from southern Alberta. Wonderful giant fork by the way.
Hahah yeah that was a fun day out saw how the professionals shot videos! Thankyou!
You joke around boy, but there is one serious engineer in you! That is quality what you made .
OMG this is amazing!!!
I’ll Take Two!
Haha two sets? Including plates?
This was a super fun video!
Thanks. Glad you liked it!!
Surreal.. Love it!
Thankyou!
It’s glorious!
No wayy!!! I walked past this the other day and was in awe i love it!
I really agree about thick soup
This is amazing !
Finally - a fork that actually needs a forklift to lift
Truly a masterpiece 😮
great job. love it.
Thankyou! Definitely worth it!
That's proper madness.
I approve!
Those last few shots look like you actually built a tiny model town and put a regular size fork in it.
Can you talk about how you have you’re left vise attached? Maybe in a short or something since your content has moved on from such questions. I would greatly appreciate it! Love when you take your portable smithing out and about! Keep it up!
C’est dingue ! 😮 quel travail incroyable ! 🤩
Thankyou so much!!
How can I not like & subscribe for the effort it takes to make a HUMUNGOUS 24ft fork?
Surely you need to make a matching spoon & maybe a knife now??
ETA, why do I get the feeling this 24 foot fork sounded like the BEST idea after a few too many pints with the fellas? Lol
Hahah I dunno about that! The giant that uses the fork only eats pot noodle so he doesn't need a knife and spoon hahah way to many pints!
(Also I appreciate the before edited comment ;))
@@natesforge haha I felt like maybe it was a bit rude of me to say after I posted it & didn't want to offend. I stand by it tho lol
Absolutely fantastic!!!!!! So fun!!!!
Hahaha yeah its so simple but cool
Very cool! Would have loved a bit more background info on the thought process/design of this project. How and why it came together!
*looks at fork* "What if this was really big?"
Small suggestion, instead of 24ft fork, write it as giant fork. Easy to read and understand works better with the thumbnail.
Also design a new thumbnail if you can, this is something that goes viral in an instant. It is a gem of a video, it's a shame the thumbnail and title stopped it from going viral.
just one more thing, 10-15mins is a sweet spot for a video, as soon as it reaches above that, people lose motivation to click or watch the whole video
Amazing video Nate! But damn, is this meant for dolby atmos audio? :D The dynamic range is crazy, I can barely hear you talk on max volume and then the music blasts my windows, and it's even consistent
Damn the video and the project are proper epic, I mean, it was probably worth it even only for that galvanizing footage. It was superbly shot and postprocessed while the process itself on such an object of everyday disproportion was amazing to watch, making me feel things I haven't felt before, as my brain was figuring out what the hell was going on. Truly mesmerizing to watch, thank you for making it and documenting it! Great art!
Yeah it was pretty incredible watching it! Your right, everyone has there favourite fork it's just weird to see it alittle bit bigger haha
3:07 - you are the bender
Right that it you wee bender
Loved it
B I G F O R K
Nate's fork... Nice
Very nice haha
Beautiful job on the fork and the video Nate and Aaron - it certainly makes a statement. In some places it could be considered a weapon of mass destruction - LOL.. Perhaps consider a wee bit higher level of sobriety on your next pub night. Kidding aside a wonderful job all round. Regards, Dave
Thankyou! We took your advice for the next video, but just after we finished it we had all this extra beer.. and well the one after is alittle bit mad haha
Thanks again Dave, sadly we didn't heed your sobriety advice and now have a plethora of ridiculous projects coming up!
Amazing work 🙂 got here via Nerdforge - question : are the positive airflow full face masks a EU or country requirement for shops or an individual choice? Cause bravo for serious safety - This TD is impressed.
They are an awesome channel cant believe they gave Aaron and I a shoutout! I think they might be in commercial setting, but for us its a no-brainer. Its such a small workshop even with extraction it fills up quick so we love them! Thankyou!
Now that's cool.
Thankyou!
Your work is remarkable and what an admirable dedication. I like the photography in your videos. inspire. Now, what I need to know... Where do you get that music that accompanies the images? I need it as a playlist, I love it.
Maybe I'm biased but thats the best Big fork I've ever seen
nate's fork
" you may have only a fork full of my food"
It's time for a spoon.
Here by way of Nerdforge
New subscriber here 👋🏾
Wow! Absolutely incredible work and video. How big do you think you could make a bent gate carabiner 🤪
Thankyou from both of us!
Ohhh I dunno, size of your brewery? Haha
I like how you used a FORKLIFT 😂
What the fork indeed :D
What camera gear do you shoot with? This is some of the most beautiful video ever! The colors are so good too.
Sorry only just saw this, its shot on the sony a7siii and the sigma art 20 and 50mm f1.4.
@@AaronWahab Well your editing and photography are excellent! Blown away by the video and the way it is shot and edited.
Super cool and some real high production quality. That said for the love of god lower the music volume by a notch I have open backs so I vibe to it but on anything else it would be a pain.
Here from Reddit- I really enjoyed this! Thanks to you, I now know the names of all seven parts of a fork. How far did you have to travel to have it dipped?
Haha awesome I'm glad you enjoyed it! Not far its about an hour and a bit up the road. But definitely got some weird looks on the way haha
Either you die a blacksmithing channel, or live long enough to see yourself become a machining channel.
Jokes aside, what an amazing project! The galvanization was really cool. Was the zinc bath the limiting factor on size?
And if you like thicc soup: try Dutch pea soup. It's called snert and the criterium for being good snert is that the spoon should be able to stand up straight in it.
Funnily enough you say this guess what tool I just bought for a song...
There was a few things, the sheet of steel we bought was 1250x3500 and we only got two of them, but we could have made it bigger for the zink bath they would just have double dipped it.
Thats a proper thickness of soup. Ill give it a go! Glad Aaron put that in at the end haha
brillant
Thankyou:)
Did you plug up the holes at the end so it doesn't fill up with water from the rain? Now you need to make the complete set: knife and spoon to go with it..
❤️❤️❤️
i really like real big forks
You and me both!
@@natesforge keep up the outdoor content. those are amazing videos!🤙🤙
Haha you lifted a litteral fork with a forklift
What the fork did I just watch
(With all seriousness though, this is a forking masterpiece. I’m just a tine-y bit jealous that this is your jobs - insanely awesome. Hope you can handle all the admiration that’s coming your way: your work sure to steel the show!)
Hahaha yeah it definitely has its massive up points but sometimes its difficult see the end ahah I think I'm gonna give you a wee crown with all the forking good puns ahha
