Former fisherman here , had similar experience off the east coast of Australia.
We were on a 53 metre (170 ft) vessel with 17 crew.
No idea of the size of the wave that hit us but it completely caved in the wheel house shearing the footing bolts across the whole front of the wheelhouse from the foredeck.
    Navy came and rescued us.
Respect the sea , respect the men and women who work it.

Doesn't matter if Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, North-German or Dutch... the rough, but beautiful North Sea is part of our history. In Germany we actually have the direct comparison to the more likely warmer and calmer East Sea / Baltic Sea with bright sandstrands, were a lot more tourists come for swimming in the summer. It still gets me how strong the hulls must be on those ships. As they plow their way through rough seas, one second all the vessel's weight is on the middle of the ship as they're on top of a wave and the next second all that weight is on the front and back as they go into the troughs between the waves. Weighted down with cargo too. Amazing.

Please can you include brief details of the ship(s) in your videos so that we can look them to understand their size and big sea capabilities.

If you search in Google images for "putford puffin" that will give you an idea of one of the smaller vessels that regularly patrol the North Sea in case anyone falls overboard from a rig. Their job is search and rescue and have to stay out at sea for months at a time

Can anyone give an estimate on how tall that last wave was? It completely soared over the bow but I don't know how big the ship is.

Went through a gale off New England when in the Navy. Just like that. The whole ship shudders till you think it will split open. So glad to be on land!
