Michael is dope. I'm an Asian American man and it's awesome to see other groups of people be able to represent their culture. Being Asian, I really want to see an Asian American actor/actress break through and play these big roles. Hearing Micheals story, really makes me thing of how we should think of how we can represent them and their culture. Envious but inspired.

She’s a super strong and outspoken woman... she should’ve been matched with a stronger male counterpart, no disrespect to MBJ. She is so independent and needs to be challenged, so I’m surprised she wasn’t matched up with a true A list celeb. MBJ needed a introvert male and it would’ve been better. He obviously sees the intelligence of Issa and that’s the separation.
Future Vandross i agree but i dont think she needs an a list celeb to have a genuine and equal conversation. You describe her as if she nees a horse whisperer to get through to this independent spirit. She just needs someone who gives a shit and recognises the importance of her voice. Her intelligence shouldn't limit conversation or conversation partners, in actuality if he was intimidated he should of prepared questions to ask her. To me hes all about himself and yes that can be from a place of insecurity but even with that you can prepare yourself to be present and just generally be curious and selfless. Usually love these Actors on Actors, but this felt more like an interview of Michael B. Jordan as opposed to a conversation between two accomplished actors and stellar individuals. Hope they bring back Issa Rae to discuss her rising star and her future projects with someone who can set a more conversational tone.

Gloria Mudany Okay let me put some context around what I said. I'm Muslim and this is our holy month in which we fast from sun up til sun down from food, but also from sex, desire, anger. Mashallah is a common Arab and Muslim saying that expresses appreciation, joy, acceptance, and praise. When a Muslim is flirting on the low they'll say, mashallah. It's kinda like saying hallelujah, I think. Lol! And astigfirullah means, God forgive me. The tone of the conversation was too formal for people who know each other and it kept the conversation from going deeper in the way it could have. Also for somebody like MBJ who has over a decade of experience in television, it could have been talked about more, he has done network primetime television, daytime scripted television, premium cable. Few people go through those avenues anymore because of streaming so it could have led to an interesting discussion.

I liked this interview and I love Issa and Michael together. However I felt like this interview was very limited and one-sided. Overall I felt I learned more about Michael as an actor on a personal level, as an aspiring actress these types of interviews do help. Thank You!

These interviews do help, because as an aspiring actress as well, I love learning about these actors, and I have learned so much about both Issa and Michael through this interview.
I had to watch this. I was shaking my head when he said Ben Affleck and Matt Damon called about the Inclusive Act. Especially when Matt Damon popped off and said basically that it doesn't need to be diverse behind the scenes. Bill Cosby, not the personal life, but the professional one influenced having more diversity on the set. I didn't know that "stand ins" weren't the same race a lot of times back when... (Stand in might be a model or actor that stands in for the people to get the camera shot looking right. Never noticed, but Michael Jackson Making of Captain Eo showed a stand in. It was great...). It's so important to have behind the scenes people especially writing. Okay I'm 10 minutes in.... Great clip

Hmmm reading through these comments - Folks are mad critical. These two are masters of their craft they have different lives and a different set of experiences in and outside of Hollywood. The interview started a little awkward but honestly what interview doesn’t? I felt them warm up towards on another and both gave thought provoking intelligent answers to me 🤷🏽♀️. I do feel Micheal could have asked Issa more questions but I really liked their interaction towards the end.
Stop focusing so much on his body and pay attention to him. He’s more than just a good looking, built, guy. He’s intelligent and a very good actor.
