  • I needed to trim out the front fenders to be able to run 37" tires, without cutting tires or wrinkling up the front fenders. I have wheel well trim that I want to keep on the wheel openings just to keep the beauty of this "fine lookin' machine". Then we get to take "DECAY" out for a spin just to test out the work. #chevy #4x4 #4x4build #offroad #squarebody #37"tires

Thanks for the video. That's a simple trim, I just picked up 37s for my K5.

Thank you for watching and for your comment. It’s always exciting when you get to upgrade your rig, especially larger tires. I did move my front axle forward a little bit so be aware that fender trimming could vary slightly, so measure twice. Enjoy the ride my friend

@@Farm10customs what lift do you have on your truck, is it a 4-in or something other?

I did the 52/56” spring swap. All Rear springs and I used 3 springs from each pack. I did a couple videos on this project a few months ago. I tried to explain how I did this. It turned out to be something like 3-4” of lift. I hope this answers your questions

Looks good! Gave me some ideas for my 76 Suburban. I’d like to step up to 37’s at some point but would like to retain the trim and as much of the fender as possible.

Awesome. Lifted suburbans are cool. I only lifted this 4” and 37” tires fit pretty good. However I did move my front axle forward about 2” or so and that helped the tires be more centered in the opening. It could use a little trimming on the rears too. Thanks for your comment. Good luck with your project

whats the suspension axle setup? and tire wheel combo. it looks great! especially the ride height not being to high. im trying to run 37s on my suburban but with as little lift as possible.

Hey there! I think you are wise to only lift your suburban whats need for tire travel. Here’s the rundown, I’m running a large hub dana 44 front end w/factory 4:55 gears and a mini spool locker, (which needs and haven’t yet installed) hydro-ast steering. I also installed a cross over steer setup to replace the old steering components. The rear has the corp 14 bolt with the stock govelock limited slip.
The tires are 37x13.50-17 Toyo M/T on a used set of 17x9 Raceline “Rockcrusher” wheels.
The suspension is a 52/56” spring swap that gave me about 4” of lift. By doing that conversion it actually centered the front axle in the wheel opening a little better.
With this setup I only had to trim out the front fenders. I hope you find this helpful let me know if I can help further. I have videos of the whole process that might explain things a bit. Thanks for watching and enjoy your build.

@rlfdavin That’s going to look great. It may have a little more body roll On your suburban, I would use 4 or more leaves on it though. I’m going to add 1 or more to mine, lots of flex but springs are sagging a little. Good luck and thank you.
