That last move was interesting - clearly your opponent realized that the queen was a trap, but yet they could not see what the trap was, and therefore ended up entering it even as they tried to avoid it.
That, or the opponent was also doing a challenge. Or the unthinkable, maybe the opponent is a very high rated "Unpaid Actor"!!!
The opponent realized something was wrong, he could feel it. Sadly, he didn't know what exactly was wrong.
Actually if you look at time spent, it was 0.1 seconds so a premove

C'mon. Moving the queen is the best option. If the challenge is "that's the only piece that can do something", the queen is the one that can do most things. If the challenge is "that's the piece that can't do something"... who needs a queen to beat a 100 rated guy while being high rated?
Yeah, I saw this coming too, but maybe so did Simp and he wanted more challenge
he should've stuck to only using pawns if he really thought he could do that. So what if his queen was under attack? He wasn't gonna use her anyway
@@yourmum69_420 You're not beating players with only pawn moves, even at this level (unless they resign for no reason). Eventually they'll give a check that you can't block with pawns and you'll be forced to move a piece.
It couldve been "all pieces on that side can no longer move" or "all pieces of the same type (major/minor) can not move" or something along those lines. Nothing says it has to be just the piece.

First time I've seen an "oh no my queen" pulled off without losing the queen. Opponent got run over by the ambulance that Simp called.
I suspected that was the challenge and so I was really panicking when you said "nah, I'm not gonna move my queen"

Ngl, not taking the bishop with the queen, was a pretty cowardly move.
Extremely cowardly, it would have trivialized the entire video. But I feel like the attempted Queen sac redeems it. He was so aggressive with it that the opponent backed down instead.

It is nice that Simp has so many videos made in advance. This one was made in 1999, when Kosovo was at war.
That guy premoved the last 4 moves (you can check on the right for how long the opponent took to play their moves).
Move 5: I have no idea
Move 6: Thought simp would take on d4 with knight, so premoved pawn to attack it
Move 7: Premoved taking the knight on f3 (but simp moved it away)
Move 8: Thought simp would take on f3 with knight? Premoved bishop to perhaps prevent castling
Or maybe 100 rated player and they didn't know what premoving was.

I'm so stoked that I guessed the challenge immediately after he said "taking with the queen is too big a risk". I was like, nah, the queen is the best to take with now, because you'll have to use whichever piece you moved for something critical.. oh you probably have to checkmate with it!
To the opponent, Simp moves in a way that feels like he knows something the opponent doesn't, which rattles the opponent.
Funny thing is, the opponent is absolutely correct.

If you did a challenge where you only moved pawns and not pieces, and you ended up promoting one, would that newly-promoted pawn be considered a piece? Or would it not count?
It would have to not count because checkmating exclusively with pawns while your opponent has their entire set is almost impossible.

Why would activating with the queen be more of a risk than anything else? It could be something like "that's the only piece that can capture now". If anything I'd think the queen is the safest choice.
Edit: and a few seconds later I can say I was definitely correct.
