- This was the final game I played against @GothamChess when I was in NYC. I wanted to play a solid opening against him, but after seeing what he played I couldn't resist going for my favorite gambit. Let me know in the comments down below what you thought about the game!

Pia always has the nicest ways to say a move is terrible
Okay. Now that I heard it this time I'm like, yeah, she's a brutal sweetheart. 😂
@@GCTACOBATMAN the passive aggressive approach, works every time
I'm not mad, just disappointed :(
* 0:00 do anyone else see how "peaceful" of gothem when he shakes hands , lolll ... *
@@davidjames149 A regular GM even, non-W.
@streamx3m Pia is Anna's mum, she's a grandmaster
Ms. Pia literally knows how to say "you blundered and your move is terrible" in the nicest way possible.
_Why, I can smile, and murder whiles I smile._
@streamx3m anna's mom 💀
except Anna never played it either.
@@torilessshe was reaching for it and clearly thinking about it. Or did you think levy just read her mind? If she wasn’t thinking about going h4 then she wouldn’t have acted like that when her mom said it was a bad move
Why does “you blundered and your move is terrible” have to be the default tho? maybe Pia’s way of speaking is the default and ppl are just negative lmao
Anna: chooses the worst move in the history of chess
Pia: I would have played that slightly differently
You picked a piece on the right half of the board though.
"Now see I would have moved one of the pieces on the board that I was playing on, but it appears that Anna has accidentally moved a piece on another game in progress."
Levy is soooo boring and uptight and such a drag. This was a chore to watch because of him.
It's just a friendly game, bro. How about relax and smile a bit?
@@MistaOppritunityWhoa, she’s not Andrea Botez.
was the move actually that bad though? the engine did not see it that way
I love how Pia always finds the nicest ways to tell Anna when she makes a bad move lol
Play me chess
And then there's her dad who just calls her 500 rated
@@ndiyabucaphukelaubusobakho1732 Lol in his defense she played very poorly that game. Anna's parents definitely have very different personalities though. I feel like Anna takes after her dad more
* 2:49 kingside gambit , it is 80% like viena in the book can find. *
@streamx3m Pia is Anna’s mom and she is a grandmaster
Levy's grumpiness is matched by Anna's cheeriness
In the end, Levy beat Anna at chess, while Anna made Levy slightly more cheerful.
That’s a win win
"Are you going to checkmate me? How?"
*White bar drops to zero*
Levy: "It's a bad move, right?"
Pia: "I would've played differently."
- Exactly xD
Look at her she likes him. Most of the time her hand was touching and moving her hair if you have girlfriend like that you can see she does this too
@@NaN_000 Bro is stupid 💔
@@NaN_000 i think she's just nervous man...
obviously her mother didn't want to make her feel bad🤣😅
"I wanted to play solid chess!"
Welcome to a sub 1200 chess player's most uttered phrase.
Any concept of solid chess is out of the window once the Dutch is on the board 💀
"I wanted to play chess!" - Me.
Welcome to a sub-500 chess player's most uttered phrase.
I’m 1700 and still say this. If I don’t see e or d pawn, all hope is lost
"What's solid chess?"
- 700 elo
@@macdonaldnnadi😂ya me 2
anna and levy have sibling rivalry vibes. There's this friendly competition with genuine respect. Anna is excited to play and Levy is excited to see what anna does and it looks like both players are having fun and enjoying their time
Levy is the older brother who absolutely dominates
@@rahulbansal2 he's the big bro that makes u feel like u have a chance the entire game just to pull the final blow at the last second
Actually I felt Levy was super bored
Anna wants a bit of step bro levy
@@Kiki-qh7xk levy is a master of openings, anna is a master of tactics.
Levy spends his initial time finding all the strongest positions,
Anna spends her initial time making the board as chaotic as possible and constantly shift the power positions to new squares.
Levy is strongest at the beginning and anna's tactics resolve in the endgame.
I think Levy plays in a way that challenges anna just enough to make her a better player
I'm a simple man
I see Levy in a thumbnail
I click
Anna and Levy are true ambassadors to the game of chess. They both present Chess in a manner that encourages people to learn the game and improve.
0:23 I thought he was talking about the Bongcloud and I was Like "YEEEESSS!"
Anna and Levy are so social and good natured. Calm banter, fidgeting about, etc.
I love it! Plus we get a bit of well played chess from both!
Levy has truly inspired me to completely give up chess after saying he was bad 😭Thanks Levy!
he’s going to quit chess eventually i think because he doesn’t feel he is improving
@@jaydenmcloughlin7378 Personally I don't see that happening any time in the foreseeable future. Whether or not he's improving, all the time he's spending on chess is definitely giving his bank account a material advantage. As long as the funds flow in, there wouldn't be a real reason to stop. That's just how I see it though.
@@jaydenmcloughlin7378 Are you crazy? Improving is not everything in chess, he already said he is not going for the GM title so that is not a concern. At his current level he can continue to create chess content and grow his brand indefinitely.
For most of us, I don't think spending 5 hours per day for 2 years is worth it to become good at chess. Just think if we spent a fraction of that time in the gym or something.
@@jaydenmcloughlin7378 he literally wrote a book i don’t think he’s quitting anytime soon
Both of you add so much JOY to the game.... well almost as much as Pia !! At any rate, the ability to communicate that joy is a special talent, in many ways as deep - or perhaps even more valuable - than the pure talent of the grandmasters we all admire.
I like when your mom is doing commentary on your game. But I'm not on twitch often. Bring those videos to CZcams. She does a really good job
Which is easier
U goin to Twitch or her bring it to utube
Love both of them individually. Love both together.
The crossovers on youtube just never stop being entertaining.
That pawn slide back and forth was something else 😂
A Dina move.
What else would you expect from the magician
The true impressive move was Pia saying a move is terrible in the nicest way possible.
I love Anna's positive attitude! It always brightens my day, win or loose.
I always get sibling energy when you two play or just interact with each other. We definitely need more content of you together. In my opinion the two most likeable chess content creators out there :)
its super helpful having that online chess board at teh top of the screen. i like to pause and think it through what i'd do before they move each time
The fun in Anna's games has nothing to do with whether she wins or loses! It's all about what a delightful person Anna is!
That’s the truth, her parents definitely raised her well and love her.
Pia's diplomatic language is epic ^^
Pia strongly hating a move: "I would've played differently"
Wasn't that about the whole game up to that point?
Thank you, both. Such nice people and an enjoyable game. Pia roasting Anna for her poor move :-) that was amusing.
Both Anna and levy have loveable characters, very fun to see you two play
levy just wanna make anna cry
Sigma
Grindset
"I am not Hikaru", said with such palpable pain... 😛
Love the way Levy just slid that Rook across to pin your Q. Class.
Levy: “Dont do it, it’s a terrible move”
Pia: “I would have played it differently”
I so much want Anna to win more and get her rating up but in the other hand I want her to just go back to the park and play for fun. She blows the dust off a game that bogged down in politics and seriously miserable players. Her enthusiasm and joy must be bringing more people to the game. Even if she never gets grand master she is a super enthusiastic chess educator and that can't be bad. But I want her to be a master chess player and super educator!
I started playing a week ago because of her. Now I'm addicted.
anna is like a golden retriever and levy like a black cat
whats that supposed to mean…
More more! Such fun to see my two favorite chess players play!
They should these things clockless and just make moves naturally.
So not taking ages to plan everything out, but that would make more entertaining battles in these skirmishes.
I get that a clock is important in matches but when playing your friends or family just dont clock
These games were so good!!!! Such good content!
I love how the spent a minute playing the opening
That was a solid move at the end Levy🔥🔥🔥❤️😊
Love your games with Levy❤
Levy: But I don't know if it's good
Narrator: It was good
Levy with the clean fade I see you ma boi!!
Barlog defence, where hikaru lost his first game to board 4
I love Anna's Swedish accent! "Make good meeoovs" and "play some solid Chass". etc...awesome. I very much envy multilanguage speakers...
I'd like to see a game with more time on the clock.
I really like the energy in these.
The ways he's like I'm so bad makes me feel so bad😭😭
Really wished you two would have played that out for content 😝
Like how their enthusiasm is inversely proportional to their position on the board.
Please more of this. I love Levi, I think he is going to be the best someday once he gains confidence in himself.
Best at chess or best chess-related content creator? Arguably he's already one of those, but it's impossible to be both
Hikaru says Levy has potential but he has to change his mindset and take more risks when player against higher level opponents to improve and have a chance to further grow to have any chance to reach GM level. Unfortunately, Levy lacks confidence in himself.
Levy*
@@susbedo9258 when did Hikaru say that
@@susbedo9258 Levy said when he plays against GMs and they play a move he doesn’t expect (or he thought was bad), he starts second guessing. “Well a GM played it, it must be a good move, what am I missing?” I think that mindset is really what trips him up. He starts to second guess what he technically knows is the right response instead of just looking for the best response.
Bg5, surely one of the legal moves of all time.
"i wanna go levy style" "its a bad move"
I wish I knew for sure but I think White castling to King side is like going to a coffin! I lose on that side a LOT!
levy sounds fed up
it's wholesome to see a higher elo player coaching their opponent as they're playing against them. magnus did the same thing against anna
"Anna plays her best chess when she is talking!" Just a thought...aaaand I love your channel Anna because you do not only teach chess very well, you also like people. Some chessplayers don't.
I was actually rooting for you to win this time Anna..
Maybe Nc3 is slightly better than exf5..but thanks for making think about this for both sides.. I almost never face 2.e4 when I dutch it.. I gotta try 2... d5 making holes everywhere in my position but enticing my aggressive opponent into thinking I'm a partner lol😂
oh my...he knows he's already won...the confidence..unbelievable. the game just started in 4 moves.!!
Ouch, looked in trouble 5 moves in just from the time situation.
I would love to see a follow up of thes game 🤔
1:43 he said it, he's hikaru now
Anna you were doing so well!!
It always makes me sad when games go to time
And here are my 2 favourite CZcamsrs playing chess against each others.
I LOVE HOW SHE FLEXED THAT GAME AND RATING
I hate how the time ALWAYS runs out...right when it starts getting interesting.
It may be much harder to play good chess while talking, but I love these social games when two people who love chess talk it out while playing. I hope there is an Anna deconstruction of this chess match to explain when she messed up according to the machine, and went from a strong position to a very bad one.
levy seems so much serious here than in his videos.. i wonder if he just respects pia too much to bully her daughter or levy´s wife gets jelous and he is under threat
Levy is not just a chess streaming legend, an entertainer, a brilliant chess analyst, He is also a gentleman.
IM Levy plays a -6 move for black that pins the queen to their king, and allows him to clear house on Anna's pieces. "I don't know if this is any good".
Anna, your openings and early transition to the mid game looks really really great, but you always end up getting distracted towards the end game. haha! hope you can work it out together with your excitement and enthusiastic nature.
one minute thinking of a second move. Now I feel like a pro even tho im new to chess.
Oh, I think if the bishop takes the rook, then the knight checks, queen takes only move, queen takes?
And Rozman strikes again!
This good content. I don’t want to see you lose, but at least the challenge is entertaining and therefore educational too. GothamChess has some good moves.
Anna wanted Levy to play the caro kann lol
I love your mum though, she’s funny. She said “I’d have played a different move.” 😅 I think this video was my intro to GothamChess. He turns out to be hilarious and highly knowledgeable. So Anna, you are well connected 😊
I like Anna's "hmm" so much! Sometimes, I watch her games just for it! 😊
My two favorite youtubes personalities
"I'm bad at every format" Proceeds to demolish her defence
Levy hung the queen in the end
Damn Levy just having a field day with all that trolling
These guys would make a great couple tbh
Was screaming "time Anna" the whole game.
Dude I feel so bad for Levy. He always tries to act un-phased but it effects him so much when he makes mistakes.
“its a good opening”, the eval bar: lol
Levy hasn't made eye contact the whole game lol
My deepest wish in the universe is to be able to ask "Pia, was that a good move?" and have an answer.
6:05 "I just played this very confidently, but I don't know if it's any good"
I love Levy's self deprication. He's a character.
"I feel the bishop belongs there" ... That comment was hilarious! lol
its spring and the sap is rising.....
Levy play the balrog defence
Nobody talk when it is Pia. I guess unless Anna is there? She was quieter than usual. She was actually slightly leading for a while.
i like levy a lot more when hes playing chess rather than talking about it lmao he seems so humble playing chess, but when he talks about oh boy lmao i love levy as a chess influencer player though he really is the goat
he doesn't have any confidence in his ability to play chess, bc he comapres himself to Super GMs, but he's actually a chess teacher, so he knows really well how to explain for us lower rated noobs.
@@MaxIronsThird lol more like talk shit to us lower rated lmaoo i mean im just talking crap tbh you cant deny levy is the goat even if his mental state isnt there yet hes still unbelievable he just talks to much crap lol
@@MaxIronsThird like example he did a video about a 3 year old chess prodigy and at one point he goes most of you wouldnt have even seen that but this kids 3 itd take you years of training to understand that move" and while i get it, plus it adds entertainer value why he has 3.5 mil subs but it comes off wrong sometimes when he says things like that
This is called the Balrog defense.
Levy looked liked he just didn’t care 😭💀
Did Levy want to go for a Rook Roar in the end?
5:38 and he sacrificed... the ROOOOOOOOKKKKKKKK
Inappropriate clock time
Very good move by Levy
I’ve never seen levy so quiet
