I saw a post on reddit where someone had given a Bill Cosby album as a secret santa gift. It was hilarious. You'd be amazed how many people didn't get it and thought he was condoning drugging and raping people. A lot of young people have no sense of humour these days.

I think it resonates because we all want to be, and want to have, friends who are so close that we fuck with each other that hard at significant life moments. Look, its funny because of the situation and implications.
First off, EVERYONE loves seeing that moment of someone being put on the spot. There is great tension there because its 1 thing EVERYONE can relate to.
2. Its two best friends, basically family. So there is a love there that is outside of maliciousness that again, 100% of people can relate too.
3. Its a gift that is so bad, like immediately historically bad that its more than equivalent of shitting your pants in public and then pointing to the guy next to you, and everyone immediately believes hes the pants shitter.
You combine those 3 elements at once, and its so OBVIOUSLY over the top that as a joke, thats it causes absolute and total hysteria because you're brain ismt equipped to handle the amount of emotions that form instantly and creates a moment pure disbelief.

I haven’t known very many Jewish people in my lifetime simply as a result of my geographical location not being host to a large number of their people. But, without trying to stereotype in any negative way, every one I’ve known has had the best sense of humor of any group of individuals I could think to put together. I think the answer is pretty simple. It was Hitler’s cup, but instead of sitting in some noble place of respect and revere like a museum, it was bought as a gag gift for a comedian on a podcast. Like it symbolically diminishes the lasting impact Hitler wanted to have on the world with his possessions being treated as gag gifts. It’s a good thing!
