- It's time for the Movie Trivia Schmoedown Singles League 2017 Tournament Finals between "Little Evil" JTE and "The Inglorious One" Samm Levine! What started as 16 competitors is now down to two, as JTE continues his singles redemption tour and Samm Levine tries to make it to the title match for the second time this year. Who will win this five-round trivia slugfest and face former commissioner Kristian Harloff at the Schmoedown Spectacular?

Little Evil seems a little confused. Levine just flat out played a better game - he showed guts taking another chance spinning, he showed range with movie release dates, and even when he was down he showed poise. Look out Patriots.
I never watch them, if the patriots win a match thats the end of the video. If they lose then i watch until they whinge.

In both Tournaments too, for that matter, not just the singles.
Samm took it some of the toughest competition to get here, in some cases, against all odds. JTE has gotten his groove back, and proved throughout this year he's one of the greatest competitors in the league, absolutely deserving of his Belt. Whoever wins this match, absolutely deserves it, and makes the very real argument for being the Player of the Year.

If there's a number 1 contender's match in the Spectacular, it should be Rachel vs JTE vs Kalinowski.
I think they should do this matchup after the Spectacular. Whoever wins faces the loser of Levine vs Harloff and the winner of that match gets a title shot. That way, those who were the closest to the belt get another shot at it.
The battle of the comeback players of the year, winner of this determines Player of the Year imo
Totally agreed. They both deserve it, this match just solidifies it.
Reading through the comments, I gotta say, although Harloff had an amazing run this year, it was not necessarily record-breaking. Samm's overall run however was. Therefore there is no doubt in my mind that he deserves player of the year unless something truly *spectucular* happens
I would give it to the winner between those two in the main event. Both have been crazy good this year!

There was so much crying in the end that i almost forgot that in the Spectacular we are having Samm fighting twice for a tittle, and could have Rocha fighting twice for a #1 contender match.

That's why you wait until you absolutely know what the question is. He was right that Back To The Future II was the movie he first said it in, but he took a bad calculated risk. The speed round is my least favourite round, to be honest, because it has nothing to do with who actually knows more, just who knows it faster, and it causes knee jerk reactions like that, to get the point before the other person. In this case, I'm glad it worked in Samm's favor, but in general I think they need to find a better alternative to the buzzer round. I don't think having a speed contest makes you the better player.

It would have been cool to cover the entire last year's struggle for Samm and JTE and show where they've come via the pre match promo. There is so much to this story aside from just the tournament.

Samm Levine is easily the player of the year.
Creech786 100% agree. He had some rough matches last year and it’s clear he takes this seriously and did his homework. Even if he loses both title matches (which I doubt) he is easily player of the year
I think Kristian has had an impressive year too. He hasn't lost a match, I don't think and one was a title match against Dan Murrell.

Great match! Congrats to Samm for winning both the single and team tournament! JTE had a great performance as well and the Lion’s Den continue to show why they are the best heels in the league (With Team Action as a close second). I think with the quality of competition Samm has faced in both teams and singles there is no way in hell he doesn’t deserve Player of the Year! Excited to see where the schmoedown goes from here :)

This match was insanely satisfying to watch...especially the outcome. Also, Jenn Sterger is by far the best post-match interviewer the Schmoedown has ever seen.
I wonder how long Samm had been waiting to pull out his Movie Release Dates mastery card...I have a feeling he was dying to show off that particular skill to the fans AND the rest of the competitors for a while, and this was pretty much the perfect opportunity (though Bill and Ted will now haunt him!)! Well played, sir, well played!

We have some people saying the title matches will be boring just because the lions den or team action won't be involved and then others saying they skip all of the intros and smack talking anyway. I just like to enjoy the whole thing and see great matches. All of the championship matches along with the number one contender matches at the spectacular should be fun.
