On today’s episode of the Movie Trivia Schmoedown, the rematch everyone has been waiting for since the Schmoedown Spectacular is here! Above the Line was one question away from dethroning the champions at that event and they have fought their way back into title contention today. The Patriots have laid waste to the tag team division as they have gone undefeated through the competition. What they have done is nothing short of incredible and they are looking to retain their belts and go 10-0 which would be a legendary feat. Samm Levine is also looking to be the first competitor to have both the Singles and the Tag Team belts at the same time. Will today be the day that Samm etches his place on the Mount Rushmore of the Schmoedown? Watch and find out.
This one has the potential for some fun back and forth verbally as well as a tightly contested battle. See who will be left standing at the end and the Schmoedown Tag Team Champions of the World.

Regardless of what happens on Thursday Samm really is the "G.O.A.T" now, he is the first ever to hold both titles something even Murrell never did.

Darth Vanquish I admit, I was starting to root for the Patriots towards the end. It was exciting to see someone finally knock them off, but the Patriot's Iron Mike Tyson level of dominance was pretty fun to watch.
They were certainly gentlemen by the end of this game. Then Ken got a bit mad :P

I definitely don't root for ANYONE in The Lion's Den BUT The Patriots are going down as the best team EVER!! An era may be over but we'll see soon enough.

Me too. Funny how when ATL lost it was because they missed their 5 pointer and today it was because the Patriots missed theirs. Not what you would expect from two powerhouse teams. You would assume the questions they could confer on are the ones they would get.
As soon as I saw the question, I was absolutely positive the Patriots had won. I thought the question was pretty easy. Happy to see I was wrong though.
They kinda cheated their way to a win.
I immediately have more confidence in the judges' rulings when Ellis is at the desk.
Harloff is great so my comment isn't a knock against him. I think Ellis just has a way of taking a matter-of-fact approach and coming to a fair, common sense judgement.

I’m going to cry right now... But at least I am surprised how classy Sneider was at the end. Great match, Samm is a beast.
I have to agree that judges were leaning towards Above the line, but I think they got most of their decisions correct. Little is a key word it the title, therefore wrong, Levine did change his answer on time, but The Thing is the one I think judges got wrong. In the end it did not matter. HELL OF A GAME, both teams proved why they are the best, and coincidentally, both teams had a lead in the third round in the 2 matches, and lost it because they missed the 5 pointer. That Iron man match will show us who is the better of the 2.

That top 10 call was correct tho...
The correct call would have been that they got it wrong. They did a complete do over of the entire round that pretty much gave the Patriots the game. Even Kristian admitted it was the wrong call after the fact.

This was probably match of the year, right up there with Lon/Ethan. The suspense going into those last 2 rounds was nail biting. Damn good stuff

What a match. Jeff and JTE showed just how classy they are as a team. The game itself hand controversy, tension and back and forth. But even though they lost, they had the class to shake hands at the end and be gracious in defeat.
They are great competitors, but I would definetly not call them classy
You can't call them classy most of the time, but today they took it like true champions. Maybe Dagnino and Ken did have something to say about the judging, but they said how it is, they were going toe to toe, and they missed a rather easy question in the end...

The stuff before and the interviews after are pantomime. The stress and emotion and during the game is real, but to go through all that and congratulate Samm and Drew at the end, shows JTE and Jeff are true champions.
Im calling it now ABL vs Patriots 3 the iron man match is going to be the best match of the year.

as long as your not down by four points going into the last question you can win the match.
Above the line had an easy 5 pointer, but Patriots didn't have a very tough question either. It was harder, but it wasn't like that question Knost had at the tournament last year. It's a shit movie, but that doesn't make the question hard...

This match felt like the Infinity War of the Schmoedown. I came in fully hyped for this match which completes the arc of the Patriots as champions; by the end I felt fully satisfied with the match and extremely excited for the re-match.

This match kept my heart racing the whole time. This was one of the best matches ever. Well fought by both teams. Patriots almost pulled the 10-0 (kudos to the Patriots for staying classy in the post-interview), but I'm glad it was Above The Line who stopped them. Congratulations Above The Line!

The Grape one, I'm inclined to agree. As for The Thing, I get why they're pissed about it, but as Samm points out, the Schmoedown has never been picky about 'the' before.

He has said that! Also last time at the live show Jack White was wrong even though it was as quickly changed to Jack Black. I personally feel like the ''the'' challenge should not be passed since there must be a shit load of answers every competitor has given where some ''the'' was missing. However, since the rulling was so last time, it should be now too. And as someone pointed out, since this gives them now a point and allows them to keep their challenge, they can then challenge the johnny depp gilbert grape question and (if the match plays the same for all the rest of the game) the match is not only tied because of the four point lead in the 2nd round, but actually goes one up because of that extra ''the'' thing point. Patriots win.

This may be my favorite all time Schmoedown match, including singles. It is clearly the best team match in the Schmoedown history. I'll have to watch it several more times (which I usually do anyways) to determine if it is the best of all time. Good game both.

Top 5 match of all time for me. Can’t wait till the iron man match. ATL was so cool under the pressure today. Loved watching them win the belts. Got to give big props to the Pats on a hell of a reign. Another one could start soon. Kens speech at the end is gold and it is awesome seeing Donica play his part.

While I agree that articles (unfortunately) have never been enforced.... the argument that "it stands because there's no movie named 'Thing' " is foolish, because by extension there's no movie called "Big Trouble in China," so JTE should get the point back?
I guess there really aren't easy or difficult questions. You either know it or you don't. I was so sure Patriots were playing at the end. I mean who hasn't seen The Italian Job, but they really didn't know it. As Drew said, everyone has their blind spots. Awesome match!

This is the rematch I've been waiting for. I've said it time and again, if anyone can dethrone the Patriots, it's Above the Line, because that pairing is amazingly strong. Kristian came up with something great when he suggested these two form an alliance.

A match for the ages! WOW! Everyone loves to hate the Patriots (myself included) but I have to give them respect for what they've achieved. It will be very difficult to emulate their record for any other team, but if there's a team that could do it, it's Above the Line. CONGRATS NEW CHAMPS!
I wouldn't accept that iron man match for sure, The Pats benefit so much from the regular format, I have a feeling that they're going to be butchered in the last two minutes. Wish I'm wrong though.
I think it will a close match. Really comes down to how JTE plays. I hope they lose though. I want the Patriots to play in tournaments and matches where the belt isn't on the line. They have only played 2 normal 3 round matches and even those were different compared to the ones being played today.
We’ve been saying match of the year a few times this year. Once again what an epic match. Shows how good the competition has got in the maturation of the league.

Levine is officially the greatest Schmoedown player ever. First Free 4 All winner, first player to win 6 singles matches in a row, first double champion, and ended the most dominant title run of all time.

Murrell never beat the Patriots, he never won 6 in a row, and he never held two belts at the same time. Levine has done all of that. That's not counting the Free 4 All because that's a little more luck based.
I don't think Levine has the most knowledge of anyone who's ever played the game, but statistically, and the way things have shaken out, he's the best. That's not an opinion, this is not up for debate. These are things he's done that have gone in the record books.
