Why is it that every other player in the "goat" debate, has to use narratives and different perspectives to make their case, but with Jordan you can simply say 10 scoring titles, 3 steals titles, #5 all time in points, #4 all time in steals, most blocks for a guard, 6 rings, 6 Finals MVP's in only 13 full seasons?

wait what?! Wouldn't that be Bill Russell and Sam Jones then? Bill's got 11 rings and Sam 10 rings... they basically won the championship every single season of their careers, minus like 2 seasons. Jordan couldn't get passed Boston or Detroit for a long time. He also couldn't beat the Magic when he came back and the Bulls were loaded then. 6 titles is nothing compared to 11 and 10 in 13 seasons.. that's insanity. They're the two GOATS, period. You'll never see anyone accomplish that much again, ever. Also, Kareem has 6 titles like Jordan, he's way up there too. If we're going by most dominant players ever then you have to put Wilt up there at the top.. then Kareem and Jordan are close behind. Wilt had GOD TIER individual stats, while Bill & Sam got the rings.

LeBron doesn't need longevity to have more assists and rebounds than Jordan. Jordan had one season with more of them than LeBron's career averages. It's about 40% more assists per game, and over 80% more career assists on 33% more games.
Jordan did average more points, but on a lot more shot attempts (most in the league all but one year of his prime, when he had the second most one time). If you equalize for shot attempts, LeBron would average more either way (if he took as many shots as Mike, or if Mike took as few as LeBron).
And without any shot total adjustment, combining points scored with points created on offense by assists, LeBron is head and shoulders above him for offensive production, even just comparing prime to prime years and removing LeBron's extra seasons played.

I believe that Michael Jordan is the GOAT and I’ll give some of the few reasons why I believe that he’s the GOAT!
    1. **Skill and Talent:** Jordan was a total baller. I mean, the dude had mad hops, which is why they called him "Air Jordan." He had sick moves, dunks, crazy speed, and could do it all on the court, from scoring to shutting down opponents.
    2. **Scoring Ability:** Jordan was a scoring machine. He had a deadly mid-range game, could finish at the rim like nobody's business, and had footwork and back to the basket game that was just next level. He owned the scoring title for ten seasons straight and still holds the record for highest career scoring average (30.1 points per game).
    3. **Clutch Performances:** When the game was on the line, Jordan was the man. He hit game-winners like it was nothing and always stepped up in crunch time. Some say he's the GOAT when it comes to clutch plays including yours truly!
    4. **Leadership:** MJ was the ultimate leader, both on and off the court. He pushed his teammates to be their best and led by example with his insane work ethic and never-say-die attitude. That's why his teams racked up all those championships.
    5. **Impact on the Game:** Jordan changed the game of basketball forever. He made the NBA a global phenomenon, and his influence extended way beyond the court. He's a straight-up cultural icon, no doubt about it.
    6. **Championship Success:** Six rings, man. Jordan led the Bulls to six NBA titles in the '90s, and he was the Finals MVP every single time without a single loss. That kind of dominance? It's what legends are made of, bro.
    MJ is the GOAT!

3:00 The longevity awards of LeBron James. Michael Jordan scored 32,000 points about 2 years faster than LeBron James scored 32,000 points. But because LeBron James REFUSES TO RETIRE, LeBron James was forced to play 2 more years than Michael Jordan played, to FINALLY reach 32,000 points and LeBron James needed FIVE (5) more years than Michael Jordan’s ENTIRE 15-YEAR career to break Kareem Abdul-Jabar’s scoring record. By AGE 35, Michael Jordan had ALREADY won his 6th (SIXTH) and FINAL NBA World Championship, by AGE 31, Kobe Bryant had ALREADY won his 5th (FIFTH) and FINAL NBA World Championship, and by AGE 39, LeBron James has won ONLY won his ≈ 4th and FINAL NBA World Championship (3 World Championship and 1 Orlando City Bubble Championship), and LeBron James REFUSES to RETIRE as LeBron James is AGAIN being FORCED to play MUCH LONGER and MANY MORE YEARS, well into LeBron James’ BALDING 40s just to catch Kobe Bryant’s 5th NBA Championship. It’s both sad and pathetic at this point.

Jordan is the player that made the way for the current generation of players. He got the personal endorsements from being the first ever player to have a signature shoe, the first to rock up in suits bri g respect and class coming to the game he was the first player to go global everyone in the world knew Micheal Jordan even if you didn’t like basketball or Michael Jordan you knew about him, he competed in the dunk competitions it was awesome as a kid growing up watching the all star weekend when the stars came out and took part of the dunk competition. That started a duel between him and Dominique every one would be glued to their tvs to watch them go HAM at each other. Jordan brought the hip hop world to basketball he brought the baggy shorts the short socks the rest bands all the stuff that the players have now are all because of the platform Jordan or pathway Jordan created these players wouldn’t be getting no where near what they get today if it wasn’t because of Jordan. I haven’t even spoke about his game next level. In today’s game where it’s a lot less physically demanding in the hits and checks they used to get Jordan was still dropping 50 plus games back than he would destroy today’s defence. Lebron is ‘THE CHOSEN ONE’ not a problem at all I can’t see him slowing down. Someone said it on the video jordan is the GOAT but lebron will have the better career. People always ask me for my top 10 or top 5 can’t do it there’s only 2 Jordan and lebron. I have them both as a leg sleeve tattoo we call it the GOATS leg . There’s Jordan than lebron and then there’s the rest

It's pretty clear to me, but that's just one man's opinion...

Really the only flaw I can think of for Jordan's GOAT case is that he received superstar treatment from the refs. My dad observed that too because he's watched the NBA since the mid/late 70s and a Boston fan, but he still said to me "MJ had so much greatness in him that he would have still won championships".
I'm 30yo but after learning about Bill Russell's career I will always advocate for him to still be in the GOAT conversation -- starting his rookie season he helped the older All-Stars Cousy and Sharman turn Boston into a first-time championship team and be in the Finals every year of his 13-year career except 1967, 11/12 Finals record, 5x MVP on a team of multiple All-Stars because he was the emotional leader of the team and played to make everybody around him better, was insanely competitive and obsessed with winning, and if they had all the stats and awards that we do nowadays he'd have multiple FMVPs, DPOYs and All-Defensive team selections on his resume. All this while playing a league of 9 teams where he had to play against the best more times every season because they still played 82 game seasons. So instead of playing Wilt 2 times each regular season, he played Wilt much more than that. Bill also was one of the first on record to trash talk and get in his opponent's heads.
Not saying Bill has the best GOAT case; his team was insanely loaded with All-Stars in an era before free agency, so systemically Boston kept the advantage stacked in their favor. But it's still impressive to keep winning year after year like they did without egos, fallout, and drama like today's dynasties experience. And if winning is the ultimate goal in sports, and Bill was the greatest at that in his sport's history, then his name should never be left out of GOAT conversations.
