  • We travel to Whitley County in Kentucky to find out why people who benefited most from Obamacare would vote for Donald Trump. Some thought that Trump would not actually repeal Obamacare. Others felt that Obamacare wasn't affordable.

      Exactly Their not OUT of the Solution. They WERE and STILL are part of the problem.
      They. Big corp Insurances Didn't want ACA to pass because it took control of the people and money away from them. But in order to get get SOME measure of the act passed the owners of the bill had to concede and compromise with those lobbying for Big Corp insurance companies. So a loop whole fir them was carved into it so they can play.
      Once they were back in they slowly started raising rates. Using frivolous lies or in some cases No reasons.
      This video illustrates how little people know about whose pulling their strings. Florida has the largest number of people on ACA. Yet consistently vote against their own rights.

    I went to the hospital. On January 2, 2019, I had an exam early in the afternoon and I expected to be back home for supper. But after looking at the results of the exam, the hospital personnel said "We keep you". I came back home on February 20th after heart surgery. Then there was a complication due to a prescription error and I was taken to the hospital in an ambulance in dire emergency in the second week of March. My heart stopped... After it was re-started, they kept for me another 3 weeks. There were kinesitherapy, medication, surgery, readaptation, a long convalescence. Back home, I benefited of two months of home care by professional nurses. Now I am healthy and feeling well.
    Guess how much it cost me?

Medicare for all would create a situation where instead of a hospital negotiating different rates for different insurers (claiming each one is the rock bottom best they can do), they would only be dealing with the government, most likely driving prices down. Politicians and pundits will of course start screaming about how raiding taxes are only answer, and people will buy it, since the majority are unable to see beyond the false dichotomy presented to them. The taxes (if they needed additional for funding) could be applied to pharmaceutical companies (during opioid crisis the idea of taxing each pain pill was presented and swiftly shot down, but something similar). Trump was running for a wall to stop the child trafficking at the Mexican border. So far the border has been rebuilt bypassing the Hotel September and other $7/hour room brothels. Mexico has also invested on their side. Unfortunately it is our tradition to take advantage of the world so even if we change the route and look, human trafficking will exist in relation to economic disparity.

The bathroom has few leaks, the kitchen is a bit dirty but overall the house is working. Then one day someone with a hair brighter than the sun comes in and say "I will destroy your house and replace with something better.". You don't ask questions what that better house is - does it have more rooms, more furniture, second and third floor, a basement, a garage ... you just say "OK, do it.". Next week you won't have a house and you are willing to live on the street on a promise? You got to be kiddin me.

    My wife went through 2 abdominal surgeries in 2014. We didnt pay a dollar for both of them. My 57 year old unemployed neighbour slipped on ice and broke his hip. He had surgery immediately... didnt cost him a dime. I'm proud in the fact that I belong to a tax-system where healthcare is a basic human right and not dictated by one's financial situation. We may pay a bit more tax than the average American, but I would gladly do so if it means those less fortunate are taken care of when they get sick.
    I am never moving from Norway.

      @rosestewart1606 Před 6 lety +18

      mahdogzbite I agree with this. I live in Canada and we would never give up what we have. I don't think we pay more because we cut out the insurance costs...the money for health care comes out of our taxes and not out of our pockets
      For example, the man whose deductible is $2000....that's about $500 less than the average cost per person for health care where I live. And that includes all prescriptions, co-pays, supplementary insurance fees, and dental. $3400 per person in Canadian dollars.
      The problem is the insurance. It isn't actually paying for care and they pay those premiums whether they get care or not.
