I gotta admit, non of those bedrooms really blew me away - but I did enjoy the chatty, unscripted style of the video!
I totally agree with you. Honestly, I don't like any of those bedrooms, hahaha. But TSG conversations were really fun.
My thoughts exactly. I was hoping for much needed inspiration as i need to redesign our master bedroom, but i couldnt relate to these. Anyway, i had a good time with you. I will watch again !

emma’s bedroom on its own is not super interesting, but she might be one of my favorite overall houses. it feels like a house for a person, and not a giant white marble airplane hangar
I have the same sort of ceiling and white walls in my rental (wish I had the same sort of view/outlook, also) and while I am not drawn to the style of furniture she has used, I think the problem is that everything, other than the tall, thin, potted tree, is at the same level. There is nothing taking the eye up into the mid-range between the height of the low bedhead and the tall ceiling, So you look low at the furniture, then the eye goes high to the timber ceiling. I am not a designer, but if the tiger blanket had been stretched and framed and used as art over the bed, and a plain, tonal blanket been used on the bed to replace it and add a bit of texture, the whole space might come together more? It could also all be an effect of the camerqa lens trying to get the room into one shot ....
@@janeltethat's such an interesting perspective I think that's exactly the issue. Especially the bed frame is way too low almost like a day bed and as she said she works in her bed sometimes,so you won't get any back support for all that time spent sitting there.
I love this series idea, all four voices in one video!
The bookshelf discourse - get a cheap one and paint the inner inside to match the wall so it looks like one of those expensive open bookshelves.
Also.
Shelves without a back are good because they are like a continuation of the wall and you do not divide the space, but continue it along the entire wall, which gives the effect of a built-in one.
So, to our eyes, shelves with a back seem cumbersome.
Even if you paint the back, the sides will break the illusion and stop you from getting that open shelving look..
Depending on the quality of the make you can also remove the back of the shelves and it will stay structurally secure. This work especially with the ones with slide in backs, rather than nailed on backs.
I found some shelves like that very cheap on marketplace and by removing the back (which slid into place, wasn't nailed) I got the look similar to Becky's shelves at her house.
I think the whole backless bookshelves is that if they are open it feels more airy rather than the enclosed area
And I think it makes the bookshelves like less heavy. To me, the back is intrusive, it "stops" the eye, closing in the space. If you do take off the back, be sure to use "L" or "T' brackets to hold in place, otherwise, the shelf will wobble and not be supported which could cause an accident and/break the bookshelf.

But with open back shelves sometimes things can fall through the gaps, especially if you have cats
@@Raymondinakangolhat on modern cabinets without backs, everything is done so that it always touches the wall and books do not fall. If you had a cabinet from which everything falls, then, of course, it is a bad cabinet.
Loving this new series!!! I'm a bit shocked by the high scores for Rita's bedroom, tho. The feng shui is all off; she has the toilet RIGHT BEHIND HER HEADBOARD! 😂
HOW DID NO ONE NOTICE THE TOILET BEHIND THE HEADBOARD UNTIL NOW!!!!! (I admittedly didn't detect that blunder either)
YES! That was the first thing i saw! I'll accept a sink and tub in a bedroom but a toilet behind a curtain?! That is a hard no.

There has to be a better arrangement for the room so that doesn’t happen!! Just NO.
It would be fun if you were all given the same furniture/paintings/decor and had to plan a room around those things. Then have the office vote on their favourite! Love this format so excited for more

Emma Roberts' cottage look is frickin adorable. Chamberlains looks like a guest bedroom with a pullout couch already pulled out. I love Chelsea's cuz it's most relatable and real. Rita Ora's is absolutely gorgeous but the feng shui has me screaming on the inside. haha
I do not believe for a second that Stamos sleeps in that room. L O L that's like spare room number 4

Are you me because those are all my feelings. Emma Roberts room in the context of the rest of her house too makes it make wayyy more sense. Her whole home feels like its a secret carnival-garden away from the rest of the world.
@@ferntella I've watched a handful of different videos from interior decorators discussing her home and apparently Emma used a lot of posh and elite designers for her fabrics and such. It really does take a certain eye for that type of design.
Also, I feel like AD did not do her bedroom justice with little to no sunlight while filming. The still shot is insane tbh.

When Kelsey was shocked that Rita Ora won, meanwhile her choice was John Stamos… love you Kelsey but that bed made me cringe hahaha
with a different material and shaped headboard, I would be 100% in love with Emma's bedroom. The square shape is cozy and symmetrical; the bedspread, drapes, and mismatched side tables add a really nice whimsy; and the wood and window accents are grounding. in her interview, she said she wanted the house to have fairytale vibes and I totally get that.
I love this series particurly because you are interacting together. Genius!

rita oras bedroom looks like those wonky houses that were made by people who don’t build houses and decided to expand their house without a contractor, also why is the sofa thing in her room looking like someone trying to furnish an airbnb
Cord covers only work on chandeliers. If you use them on lamp cords, electrical cords, etc., they just look crappy.

Sorry I missed the name, the one with the tiger coverlet, that was so bad, the bed looked like a pull out sofa and there was nothing else to look at. The tree was the most interesting thing and he was all lonely.
I think you should rate kitchens, usually they are show pieces and not very utilitarian. And maybe, what you would change in the space.

13:13 Yes, in some old castles they had wooden bays added to the high castle walls that were used as toilets. People walking up to the castles needed to be careful where they went, I guess.

Actually, as a note for California house re: fireplaces--new builds of homes actually are now legally prohibited from having fireplaces built in them. Older homes with fireplaces go for more $$$ for this reason.
We also have a LOT of Spare The Air days (which I hear is a just us thing lmao) where folks can't burn things even if they have a fireplace. It's unfortunate since there are actually large swaths of the state where it DOES snow & get cold enough for fireplaces.
