Give it up for the green screen đđ»đđ»
Yes green screen!!!
đđ
you go green screen!!
đđđđđ
Literally already love it!!!
Mia with a green screen is exactly the chaos I needed today
i agree đ
Yes I liked this vdo after 3 seconds đ
Yesssss đ
Literally đ
Iâm so excited to see what all she does with it ! Sheâs so creative and funny Iâm so glad she can add more to her cute lil jokes
Two things. That wig was perfection on you!! Dark hair and bangs, yes!
Second, the green screen is actually what we didnt know we needed!!
16:31 "i look like a sad clown of some sort" IM FKING CRYING. that and the "bald spot" too đđđđ
The 70s curls were SUCH A LOOK!! literally perfect
AND it was normal for us to curl them from the bottom! Thatâs just âhow it was doneâ! đ
Reminded me of Kitty Foreman from That 70s Show!
â@@geenee449 She did, I was looking if someone else thought the same thing
Describe the 70s look in one way:
8:18 ⊠Described it *perfectly*
I agree. Beautiful!! đ
âWhen I do my hair the back of my head is none of my businessâ hahahah
this also applies to hijabis and their buns haha
Yup. If I can't see it with two mirrors, it's not my problem.
My life motto đđđ»
11:45
Mia is so stinkin adorable. None of my business! đ€Ł
The reddish brunette hair! MiaâŠâŠ..you ATE that! That looked SO PRETTY ON YOU! đ
Oh and I think, hands down, the â70âsâ heat up curlers in the box with the water did the best! They were so beautiful and seemed like the curles would last all day. And Mama Maples was living! Nostalgia was real.
Mia's favorite hobby isn't sewing, thrifting, baking, or crocheting. It's video editing and she refuses to admit it. For real though, I love green screen. Perfect video for my birthday today!
Happy birthdayđđđđđ
happy birthday!!!
Happy birthday! đđđđ
Happy Birthdayyyđđđ
Happy Birthday đ
THAT AUBURN HAIR OMG
the color, the hairstyle, the BANGS. literally stared at the screen with an open mouth for the whole time đđ
i think Miaâs natural hair color suits her wonderfully and i adore how beautiful she is, but if she ever wanted a drastic changeâŠ. that would look amazing
agreed!!!! she looks so beautiful with the dark hair
Why arenât more more people talking about this
Came here looking for this comment!
Yessss the length is perfect toooo!!!
AGREEEE and i think her eye color pops out more and it compliments her skin color †that haircut is perfect for her too with the bangs!đ„°âš
SIDE PART >>>>>>>
The 80s hair with the flip was such a great look.
This needs to be a series! It was so fun. More hair products, makeup, fashion, jewelry, etc. The 80s and 70s were definitely my favorites. They suited you so well!
that dark red auburn hair was AMAZING ON
YES!! She looked so good omg
It suited her skin tone perfectly â€
Yessss
It was giving Winona Ryder đđœ
Is it just me or just she look like Karen Gillian?
Mama Maples was so excited for the heated curlers, I need to see her getting a lil 70âs makeover đ„ș
Yeeees I wanna see her with the Farrah hair.
Yes, Mama Maples and the Farrah Fawcett hair!!! đđđđââïžđ
Girl the fact that you even attempted the waves from the 30âs đđ your determination is unmatched! In hair school doing that to a mannequin was extremely difficult and you tried to do it on yourself and with only 4 clips lol Iâd say for a first effort it wasnât bad!
no for real! when i was in cosmo school finger waves had me IN TEARS i could not get the hang of it đ
OMG Mia that denim jacket, that striped turtleneck. The amount of outfits in this video that absolutely *slay me* I am *slain* like I have *actually died* like itâs tragic
off topic but Mia would slay as a weather girl!
i can totally see that!!
why weather?
@@Yuki9933Sheâs in front of a green screen, like weather reporters
Yesđđ». She would âšđ đ đ¶ đ đ đ»âš
So trueđ
Please do more vintage things, itâs so fun! (Makeup, clothes, shoes, corsets, etc)
And you could go to professionals for some of it!
and jewelry đđ€©
No I actually LOVE Mia with the green screen. MADE THE VIDEO SO MUCH BETTERđâ€ïž
Mia's video's have always been charming and silly but they are becoming laugh-out-loud hysterical. The green screen was a new level đ€Ł
Also, the 70's curls were GORGEOUS!
I'm a hairdresser, and when I say I laughed during the finger wave clips part, I LAUGHED. I had literal tears. You made my day đ
Same here I felt bad for laughing but LOL đ€Łđ€Ł
Saaaame! Laughed at the finger waves, cringed at the vintage iron and had flashbacks of burning myself on one of those crazy little stoves. A few of them at my school would sporadically spark at the plug but they wouldnât throw them away because they couldnât get them anymore đ
Me, too. When she said, "I'll take it." but they looked awful :)
Seriously. She needed alot more water and gel for sure. And finger waves was so difficult for me in school
Me too! Died! đđ
Lowkey girl - you SLAYED the brunette hair! Styled & straight
Oh I absolutely had a crimping iron like that but in a different color scheme. We used the heck out of them as kids! Those and those spiky looking electric rollers of my mom's. Voluminous, girl! đâ€
Now I see why this took so long to edit! We appreciate your hard work Mia! đ«¶đ»
IMAGINE! My dream video:
Mia Maples colabs with one of the fun historical clothing creators, and she buys outfits/dresses and tries them while also getting a bunch of fun and interesting facts from said collab partner!
Mia and Rachel Maksy, imagine! đ
Oh my gawsh we need that!!! â@TheCatLady65
She looks like Rachel Maksy with the wig & bangs. I demand a collaboration between them.
This would be so good!
Yes!!!!!!
the 30's was so funny for no reason, you are so natural, love from INDIA!!!
OMG, you and your mom just make me so happy! When I need a pick me up, you are my go to. Keep being awesome.
That brown hair really makes your eyes pop. With the bangs as well, looks so good on you!
As a cosmetology student, I do advise testing the hot tools before use. You can do so by taking a paper towel or tissue and leave it in the hot tool as long as you would with your hair. If the tester you used burned or changed color, definitely do not use it! This is just a tip ^^
This is so useful, thank you!
You mean if the paper towel turns brown/burns? Wouldnât that just indicate to lower the temp and/or reduce the amount of time itâs in contact with your hair? Even using my hot tools at appropriate temps, if I hold them in my hair for too much time, my hair will get damaged/burn.
@@mandyheart8754 The use of this test is not to see if it will damage your hair, because heat will always do that. The use of this test is to see if the heating component to the tool is broken or not. If it burns or browns the paper towel, it will actually burn off your hair. Hope this helped!
Omg the 70's look! 100% Kitty Foreman. Most iconic "70's" Mum. Love it!
This made my night. Thank you for this mia đâ€ïž you are the gift that just keeps giving!!!! â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžđđđ
I LOVE the brown hair on you!!!!! It compliments your complexion
I think the most common curling method pre-electricity was rag curls :) Heatless and dried overnight, combined with hair pomades and powders! I would LOVE to see Mia try doing some 18th century hairstyles a la madame Pompidou and Marie Antoinette
my mum gave me an afro with those! they are legit! đ
I was going to say the same thing. The book cheaper by the dozen the girls did rag curls.
Mia with bangs and brown hair is such a vibe!! đđœââïžđ„°
This was definitely one of your best videos! Loved the vintage aspect!
This is a very cool concept. I definitely want more of these videos! Well done, Mia!
Girl.... you could go earlier 1800's.... try rags.... you have not seen chaos curls until you have done this. Using towel material is best, and you sleep with them in. They are torn about 6 inches long, and one inch wide, and you roll your dampened (not wet) hair up in it and tie it in a knot. The curls last forever even on strait fine/stubborn hair. Give it a shot, the results are hilarious and very glamourous :D (disclaimer- these are instructions for shorter hair, for longer hair, you would need to do the wrap method, which there are videos for that)
Yes!! My Nan who was born in the 1920s did my hair in rags when I was a teen, best curls ever
Would LOVE to see this!
Now I want to see this!!!
I have binge watched all her videos in 2 month after finding this channel đ †Her content is addictive đ
I did that too and then rewatched đ
Sameđ
me too
I really enjoy seeing how things were done and DAMN thank you for the time and the hair u put into itâ€ïž
Youâre awesome Mia! Iâve been watching you forever it feels like and you always keep it interesting and fun. Loved the video idea and would definitely watch another one! But I always keep up with your videos and your ideas are always unique or interesting! Love ya!
Every hair tool 70s and older looks like Final Destination moments waiting to happen đđ love u Mia!
Okay Cheetah Girl đ đŒ love the fit. There is NO way Mama Maples was born in the 60s, she looks AMAZING!!
Yes, it definitely is possible that Mama Maples is a child of the 60's. She would have had to have been born between 65 and 69, making her somewhere between 55 and 59 and in the generation known as X. That's not old, this is what a woman who eats well, exercises, is a none smoker, doesn't over consume alcohol, and has a cheerful heart, looks like now-a-days. I'm 62 and this is what a lot of women I know look like after menopause. Mama Maples is a stunning woman, period. She doesn't "look great for her age", she just looks great. âïžfrom đšđŠ
I was born in 1962 and I have friends who actually look better now than they did in high school!
â@@louisejohnson6057I believe she's a bit older than generation x
@@louisejohnson6057 I'm 62 and only have a couple of gray hairs by my ears. Most people think I'm in my 40s; I quit smoking 30 years ago and I've never been a drinker or party person.
Loved, loved, loved this video. It's sooo cool, and the logistics to get those curlers, wow!!! I would love if you try some more curlers. Thanks so much Mia, the best CZcamsr, ever!!!
I would loovvveee to see more!!! I love seeing videos of how things were made back then and how they've evolved and what should've been kept and what we are glad to have now!
Green screen chaos is exactly what weâre here for! As a former hairstylist I adore this video, too, and your willingness to try some pretty difficult techniques. If you ever want to try the finger waves or metal rollers again, both are meant to be done starting with wet hair drowning in product. Since electric hair dryers werenât available for at-home use back then, and hood dryers were the only options at salons, wet sets that could air dry or go under the hood dryer were the standard. Taking much smaller sections of hair will also help a ton. Iâd love to see more videos like this!
Anything Mia makes me happy!
Mia do vintage kitchen gadgets and gizmos for food they cooked back when, whenever, wherever you choose to time travel! Costumes preferably too!. Dress, shop, Cook it, and EAT it. That was so much fun.
I agree that would be so much fun to see đ
Omg⊠yes!!!!!!
Great idea
Can we see another one of these??? †Loved how your hair looked with the first one, the cramper đđ
Love these kinds of videos from you. You do what we would do and itâs refreshing. Love this!!!! â€â€â€
Tbh the 20s look has a whole potential to SLAP, pls try it again with more clips! i LOVED the makeup ;)
Miaaaa darker hair look so good on you omggg ! I have noticed it already when brad mondo did your hair, but this wig on you ? A slay âšïžâšïž
Omg the hot roller curls were incredible. You looked absolutely beautiful with that look
I was ready to comment on how the crimped hair looks soooo good on you. I was convinced it could not get any better but THAT 70's HAIR on you!?! Gorgeous! How is it so perfect!?! I hope you find an easier and less painful way to get that look. It suits you so incredibly good!
Mia! The brown hair is so pretty on you it makes your eyes pop a bit đ€ that color is what I was hoping for when Brad did your hair! Or something fun like a baby pink or lilac lol
I loved this video you definitely made me laugh constantly đ youâre awesome Mia haha! đ and heck yes to another type of video like this!
This style of video was super fun to watch †more power to you Miađ
The crimped hair and jean jacket was giving 80s vibes and I LOVE it! It looks amazing on you!
MIA at 2:57, the crimped hair, the jean jacket, turtle neck...EVERYTHING. You look so cute!!
You did such a good job testing these!! They all look so accurate and good on you!! đâ€ïž
Your hair looked gorgous after using every single one of these tools đ You are so talented in using hair tools , editing and making cool videos đ«¶
1930âs got me in tearsâ€â€â€đđđ. Exactly what I needed today after a long stressful day with my newborn and working from home.
The editing was so funny đđđđ
sameee lol
I LOVED Mia's hair with the hot rollers. She was killing it.
Thank you for reassuring us that it was human hair in the wig. I was so afraid that it was synthetic and would melt.đąđź As soon as you said âdonât worry â I sighed with relief!
love this style of video mia! keep it up
OMG! The 70s hair is BEAUTIFUL
Okay but Mia and a green screen is the combination no one asked for but EVERYONE NEEDSSSS
Yessss Part 2 đđđ this different Type of Video Than usual ist so nice đđđ
I must say that this video has EASILY become one of my favorites, it was so fun and engaging with the green screen and we definitely need a part 2 of this seriesđđâ€â€â€â€
The green screen is the chaos we needed. This video was ( chefs kiss!)! Love it! And you look great with brown hair! Thank you for sacrificing your hair with some of these tools. It was quite entertaining. đ€đȘđŒđ
10/10 on the opening of this video. No notes. Just perfect. Mias here with Friday energy â€
Edit: all the editing in this video is brilliant. Love this style!
Hi, Mia! Really enjoyed the video, especially the green screen. The last curling iron you used is called a Marcel curler. I thought you did really well for a first-time use.
Marcel curling irons have remained in use in some black households and salons even up to this day! I grew up with my aunty curling my hair with large barrel marcels on the stove. She would check the heat by pressing it on a paper towel to ensure it didn't burn my hair. Watching you work with one was a nostalgic moment for me, for sure!
In salons, a small stove would sit at on the workspace of the stylist's booth and there would be an array of different sized Marcels to pull from and heat up as needed. Some beauticians still use these irons today! A beautician who was really proficient would even spin the Marcel curling irons in the air while holding one handle to cool them. It was very impressive and very neat to watch!
Love your videos! Keep up the great work.
đ
I was hoping someone would mention the Marcel ironâŠevery little black girl tormented with these things before Easter but the curls lasted foreverđđđ
perfect description!
I had to scroll too far to find this! Marcels definitely have a solid place in the industry even today.
The darker color and bangs with that wig looked so cute on you, Mia. The color really accentuates your beautiful, porcelain skin. Hereâs to me praying that you someday go for something along the same lines! (Though you look beautiful no matter what hair style and color youâre working with.)
I used hot rollers every day for over 15 years. They worked perfect every time. They were incredibly fast too. 20 minutes from rolling the hair to finished style. I had long hair. Half of the time I had the Farah Fawcet hair style. Loved my hot rollers!!!
The paperboy hair turned out looking more like kitty from that 70s show which is also really pretty đ±đ±â€ïž
Crimping as a hair style should absolutely be brought back in my humble opinion. I love curls, but crimping is so fun
YES! It is SO fun! Transforms your look like nothing else. I would crimp chunky sections at a time and leave the rest of my hair straight. Made it a little less voluminous (which I wanted)--definitely a look đ.
Loved the crimped style on you, and you deffo suit bangs. The green screen rocks, keep going girlâ€ïž
Please do more! This was so neat to watch!â€
Mia suits the brunette/red hair so much, I really need to see you go that colour. Also the fringe is such a vibeđ„čđ€
I though the crimper would be my favorite but all the curls look SO CUTE on you, like. It fits you sooo much more, I'm obsessed!!!
this video was so fun to watch!! thank you Mia for entertaining me when i have to write my master thesis â„
I thoroughly enjoyed this video! More please đ Great work Mia!
omg mia that brown hair is stunning on you. It makes your eyes stand out!
The tiny old curling iron you put in the flame, they used them mostly just for fringe/bangs.
Those are from at least the 1880s possibly earlier.
Definitely a fun and interesting thing to try for sure!
Thatâs really cool, not sure how historically accurate it was, but it was also in âLittle womenâ the Winona Ryder version
Omg the hot curlers!!!
I swear I've been waiting for a sign to get some and this is it⥠it looks incredible
The Marcel curling iron (the one you used on the wig) definitely takes time getting used to! Itâs a godsend in the hair industry, not too easy to use on yourself. I think you did great, Mia!
The dark hair looks nice!
The green screen, the dark hair, everything in this video was amazing! One of my fave vids sheâs made lately
The first set of rollers on you!! Really transformed the short hair you have now
I need more đ this is such an awesome video concept
The crimped hair was actually my favorite!! So authentic and not in an over the top way you normally see it portrayedâŠ.
I was a teen in the 70s and loved my hot rollers! This was such a fun video, Mia. Please do more vintage items! Absolutely enjoy the green screen. đ
Brown hair looks phenomenal on you! It does so much on your complexion. You look radiant! đ
Great video. I love the green screen. You are such a joy to watch. Keep doing your thing Mia because your killing it!!â€đ
I really love this new format that's more casual and silly, with the green screen and the microphone. More stuff like this please! Great video :)
The dark hair looks sooooo good. the cut and length too. Just SOOO GOOD Omg.
Mia this wigâs color and cut on you is SO good.
omg love this style! so fun!
You are the first person I've ever seen who looks INCREDIBLE with a full 80's crimp!
The âsteamâ machine hot rollers is definitely the best đđœ
really loved todays video miađ€Łđ€Ł
This was fantastic!! Iâd love more vintage videos like this!!
I'm a hair and make-up artist for the theatre and we still use all of these things. Especially the "torture device". But we have the little oven to heat it up. It takes some practice to get a feeling for the right temperature and most of us have dangerous methods to test how hot the iron is.
I think you did a really good job with all of these.
When you said that it feels like you're an amateur doing one of the hardest hairstyles you were right. It took a lot of practice to learn it. It's also possible to get waves like that with the hot curling iron, but that's even harder and more dangerous.
