    Hello from KY ❤️ love you and your channel.Glad Mr. Brown is better. My mom made a jam cake off a recipe that was in the courier journal,Mrs. Creason in lou ky.She made it for folks it was so good.Had strawberry and blackberry ham,pecans and walnuts buttermilk etc.Her icing would always get hard and you could actually peel it off the cake.Her cake was a purple color as well.She put raisins too.l have the original copy I intend to laminate it.It was from the 1960s.Yours looks good and I know I would rather have your icing😊. Your mixer looks like alot of trouble.They should have made adding ingredients easier with a space so you didn't have to lift it each time.

    Hi you two. Delicious cake. I had a previous mixer with other attachments, blender, liquidiser etc. But when it died on me I was told the one motor wasn't powerful enough to work all the different attachments. I would also miss a handle. Glad Mr Brown is feeling better. God bless 🙏😇

    That cake looks delicious! I am going to have to try that,blackberry jam is my favorite.
    I looked up information on that mixer and it seem to really do a lot to be so reasonably priced. One thing I noticed is the flat paddle might be better for mixing cakes so it reaches the sides better. As you had mentioned it didn't. I have a Kitchen Aid mixer
    And that is what the paddle blade is for mixing. I use the whisk one for beating egg whites or anything else I would use a hand whisk. One last thing, I love that the attachments are stainless steel. Love your recipes!

    • @kyradenean1
      @kyradenean1 Před 3 lety

      I also use the paddle on my KitchenAid for cake batter and mixing cookie dough. I use the whisk for beating up whipped cream or egg whites. My pound cakes need that paddle.

    I’ve never heard of that brand before. It looks pretty nice. I wonder how well it will last lifting the top up and down so often. I also noticed there is no handle on the bowl. I definitely think that is a negative, at least for me as I have a hard time with my hands and a handle is necessary.
