Juiced Rip Racer 52v Ebike for Under $1,000 USD

  • This isn’t a proper overview of the bike, but with the crazy sale happening now, I had to get this video out so you guys don’t miss out.
I dare you to leave a comment below if you find a legit 52v ebike for under $1,000 USD.
For comparison, the knockoff version which is the Magnum Nomad is double the price and lower voltage.
It does have front suspension, fenders, rear rack, can be configured to Class 3, and has gears. But priced 100% more, definitely not as good value. I also don’t like that the wheel size on the Nomad is larger. Stand up height isn’t as optimal for shorter riders. I definitely prefer 52v vs 48v.
Also not a fan of buying knockoff stuff in general. Juiced has been around over a decade. Whereas Magnum is somewhat of a newer brand. Juiced G2 battery is also full featured whereas the Magnum one is quite generic.
3/26/23 Juiced is having another sale so it’s back down to $1,039. Class 3’s are all now $1,299 - not just the yellow one. Take your pick of color. No affiliate link. Just grab it from their website and have fun!

Well the company is less than 2 years old compared to Juiced that's been around for 12. I know nothing about Chris Zahner other than the couple articles I read whereas Tora is very open and transparent in his design and production of the Juiced bikes.
Personally, it's the company that sold me - not their product. The product was secondary. I've been wanting a Juiced bike for 8 years.
I do like the look of the Zoozbikes, but the company is still in its infancy. Too young for me to really trust to be around or to have had enough experience.
For the spec, Zooz seems way way overpriced. A Honda Navi is $1,807 MSRP. It looks like Zooz is gouging like Traxxas does with RC cars. I can't put money into a company like that personally.
I refuse to support a company where I feel like they're just laughing at me if I bought from them. Tora even sent out a message about lowering Juiced prices when supply prices allowed him to. There's just too much of a gap between Juiced and Zooz apart from just pricing to even really compare fairly or to entertain whatsoever. Juiced hands down.
A bike company I'd trust is CSC Motorcycles. They're based in Southern California. I spoke to the owner at length about his company and trust the guy. His BMX style XP750 is decently priced with front suspension and it's geared. I took it for a spin. Not bad. Still not the quality of Juiced, but at least you have someone local you can yell at if you have problems.

Been thinking about getting this bike for a while now. Even the class 3 seems too slow for me and I heard one person chewed through the gears (which are plastic!). The fact that they are cancelling their "off-road" controller to bring this over 35mph made me not get it. I know I would be maxing this thing out all the time, but the price is good.

If you really want the illegal stuff that goes beyond the legal limits but don't want to build a DIY kit, you may want to look at the Magicycle Ocelot Pro which I hear tops out over 30mph on throttle only. I can't vouch for it though since I don't own one.
Honestly though, if you're looking to go that fast, you don't really need a bike. Would make sense to get an electric motorcycle. You can sacrifice stealth and weight for speed.

@@McGuinness89 I had my eye on the Ocelot Pro too. Specs look good. Too new of a company for me though and it doesn't help that they're China based. No transparency, zero presence in the USA.
You may want to check out the Mokwheel Scoria. Load capacity is a lot higher, 48v though but they do have presence in the USA which is a big plus. They're pretty active in their Facebook Group too which is a good sign. If I was going go get a China branded bike, it would be from Mokwheel. Hard for me to trust customer service from any other Chinese ebike company.
Spec and looks of the Magicycle Ocelot Pro are quite impressive. Bigger battery, faster charger, more speed/mode levels. It being geared is a huge plus!
As far as specs are concerned, the Ocelot Pro beats the Rip Racer. $700 more though, so I guess I wouldn't expect any less. I just love the transparency of Tora and Juiced though and bought more into the company than the product. Helps that the company is 11 years strong compared to Magicycle which is on their 2-3rd year. I'm a little bias b/c I had been wanting a Juiced bike for about 8 years.

750w motor 52v 10ah battery and only goes 20mph ? that's weird , my 750w 48v 10ah goes 28mph, is the motor limited to 20mph ? maybe the display parameters can be changed to have more speed ?

    • @Funcentric
      @Funcentric  Před rokem

It's a legal limitation. All legal ebikes in the United States are capped at 20mph with motor assist or throttle. Anything higher is not legal on roads as a bicycle. Faster gets into the moped territory where registration, license and insurance would be required.
So the spec is definitely capable of higher, just that it's being limited for legal reasons. Canada has stricter speed limitations and UK even more strict.
This is a Class 2 bike which cannot be unlocked for higher speeds. This is not specific to just Juiced. Again, it's a legal issue that all legit companies will abide by.
There are a few illegal ones such as ones by Magicycle and WallKe that will go up to 30mph on throttle only and faster to almost 40mph on assist. Totally illegal so companies aren't legit, but if that's something you want for "offroad use" (haha), it's available.

Short of it though is that it didn’t have nearly as much power up hills than I expected for a 52v bike. But a lot of it has to do with gearing. My overvolted 48v diy bike takes hills better because of the gearing I presume.
The rip racer is still bigger than I expected. Made me realize how much I love the upright position it has. I still think fat tire bikes are a fad. There’s generally very little need for tires wider than 3”. I wish it had 3” wide tires or less like the Lectric Lite. Super glad I got a 52v bike and not a 48v one. Sale is over, it's back up to $1,299. There's a $150 coupon which brings it back down but still not the steal the $999 price tag was at the time.

It dropped as low as $899 on the most recent sale. So about $1,000 shipped after tax!
