Be extremely careful with the 3mm allen key bolts on the side holding the motor controller in. These stripped immediately using the supplied allen wrench. If you feel resistance, find a large rubber band and press the allen key through it to give it more resistance without damaging the soft screwheads.
I'm gonna have to white knuckle this with a screw extractor or take it to a bikeshop to drill out, unfortunately.
Got the screws out by taking an allen key and hammering it into the screw with a mallet to really set the bit in deep.
Mine got super stripped I'm so annoyed
@@ethnsn you might be able to tap in deeper with a mallet and allen wrench. That's what the velo mechanic did after mine were basically circled out entirely.
Will not work on class 2 tho ?
Correct, the performance upgrade kit is not compatible with the Class 2 RipRacer. The Class 2 RipRacer was intended to stay within Class 2 limits so they can be ridden by a wider range of riders.
