  • In this video I revisit a location I have done previously, the area of Geltsdale in the far North Western corner of the North Pennines. I start my hike beside Brown Fell before heading into Geltsdale towards the Kings Forest of Geltsdale. I then detour to reach my eventual destination, setting up my tent for the night and enjoying the views on a lovely summers evening. The following morning I leave to return home, retracing my route in glorious morning weather. But what is it's name?
    Total distance :- 2.54 miles (4.09km)
Summits achieved :- Tremendous named Fell - 1680 ft (512m)

Great to see you out there camping again Duncan even with the heat making the climb hard going. Can't beat those wide views. Cheers.

Thanks Dan, always enjoy getting the tent out, the heat was worth it for the impressive views, may even get the tent again soon if the weather holds up, atb 😊

Thanks Colin, it is often forgotten about the North Western corner but it has it's own charm, glad I am bringing back happy memories, that's the thing with the North Pennines every hike is unique to every individual, don't worry I have no plans to stop just yet 😊

Really good. You had a load on your back there Duncan! Love the switchover to the snowy views. What a difference to the colourful pink heather. That area is a very long drive from my area here in the south. I will get back there sometime, when I can. Cheers, Warren

Great walk in Duncan - always good to go back over old ground especially when the conditions are so different - can see the views now. Yeah, a good hill - and I was going to mention the name too. Well, a nice pitch there - I imagine you had a good nights rest. All the best. Mark
