Brilliant and very concise review. I picked up my Numark Platinum for $175 new at Guitar Center as a back up to my very involved analog and midi setup. I actually used it for this past NYE and it performed quite petfectly. Between the LED jog whee display, 4 deck Serato DJ compatibility and a decent on-board soundcard and touch strip control, it's very nice for both a novice or avid user/dj producer. Overall, a sweet controller all around. Thanks for posting such an articulate and unbiased review. Good job!
Great video Phil! I was wondering if I should get a DDJ-RB for on the go, since I travel a lot over the DDJ-SB2, since there's no CDJ like play and cue buttons and also I heard you can use rekordbox software for the cdjs to prep tracks for the rekordbox dj software as well? Have a great day!
Hi Michael, thanks for watching! As long as you're okay just using Rekordbox DJ, the RB is cool - here's our full review on it: www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/06/review-video-pioneer-dj-ddj-rb-rekordbox-dj-controller/ Have a nice day as well :)
I love the MixTrack Platinum. It's perfect for small gigs and taking equipment on the go. You can also get a nice soft case for the controller and take it anywhere! I wish there were more outputs, the RCA outputs have definitely left me high and dry a few times. Other than that, it's great!
sorry for my terrible english 2:45: That sound like a buzzer has it all the time my numark mixtrack platinium and it is really annoying because even with the volume to the minimum keeps ringing in the loudspeakers and it is heard loud enough that it can be corrected or my equipment is defective. Thank you!
Something that this review doesn't emphasis but i'd say is much more important than the displays is how good the pitch controls it hard to find a controller with how long these are and how easily it is to beatmatch with especially at this price range.
I was just about to point that out. It had a 3 band eq and the filter was the bottom knob. They just moved it up to add a gain control which was a great change!!!
I think vinyl DJs will like this controller, I've had mix on one and it's really all about the Dj pitch and amazing jog wheels I thought, if you like performing tight manual pitch Dj mixing like vinyl turntables (technics etc) this is perfect in fact I thought it has better pitch control then any controller out there ??
they keep making new Mixtracks and NS7s but what I want to see is a new NS6. The screens in the platters would be a nice thing to have on an updated NS6. that and some multifunctional pads like on the NS7 series
Damn, that's a helluva controller!! Is it worth switching from my Pioneer DDJ-SB2, or would you say it's still a good value? Amazing to see what is happening in the lower price range recently!!
OMG Phil . my mates getting back into djing . we are gonna do house parties . we came to see a review on this mixer as its what he is thinking of to go with his mac pro and djay . he has linked djay to spotify premium which is really cool .. But OMG cant believe out of any clip on the net we clicked my main reviewer man phil HA HA .. its been a while mate and hope u are good :) Great review as always A QUICK QUESTION can any tracktors stream spotify , and if was getting a new mixer to would this be as good as a tracktor mixer ??? I still use my RMX , its been solid and got a hack to press the scratch button and turn every button on the mixer into another purpose . Its incredible as so many buttons on it really :) buy mate
Hey :) It'd probably be okay for Traktor Pro 2 but you'd likely have to find a mapping for it (try Traktor Bible or DJ TechTools for TSI file mappings) - your best bet for Traktor is finding a Native Instruments mixer, such as the Kontrol Z2 or one of their controllers like the S4 Mk2. The Mixtrack Platinum would best be used with Serato DJ. I don't believe they can stream Spotify as of now. Cheers!
Yeah, I get why they did it that way, but Tough Strip effects are kinda eh. They work they get it done. But having a knob for effects seems more reliable for me. I can do some cool stuff with it for quick cuts and stuff, but its more of a gimmick than something that I could see being on future devices. Having strip search is nice for a controller in this range though. Again, I get why they did it, but having knobs for the three effects would of been a nice addition. May of been a way to keep cost down.
Joe Lewis Totally agree. I don't like the fact that they have only one strip that controlls all three effects at the same time. That should be individual. I had the first Mixtrack Pro and it had separate knobs. (I think only for two, not all three fx but still.) I don't know why they think Dj's wanna control them all together. Pioneer did it as well. At least on their cheaper controllers.
Hi! This is very nice and clear review, I needed it right now, thank you! My question is, does it work with any portable active DJ amplifier/speaker, the one you can use like for 8 hours (with battery inside)? I mean e.g. Auna DisGO 100 kW, this one is my favourite, but I'm not quite sure about connecting with this controller, is it possible? And what about recording, when I want to record my own mix (live)from the controller, what I will need? I know there is an option to record my own mixes when upgrading Serato Intro to full version, but it will probably record just the music coming from the Serato and not what I mix on the controller, is that right? I have heard about some "boxes" you can add right to the controller, some record boxes/discs or even mp3 player, what is the best option please? I am very beginner and there is a lot of things to learn, so I apologize for my long answer:) Thank you in advance for any help!:)
Hi, Nicole! Yes, it will work, as long as it will connect. Which cables do you have to connect your speakers to the controller? It will record the master out, the finally mixed music that you are hearing on your speakers.
i really like this controller but i am worried about the jog heels displays failing at some point. I dont really care about those but will the jogs work afterwards? I would get the mixtrack pro but need the damn gain knobs.
Looking to pick one up Friday. For anyone else debating on getting this one, guitar center is offering a laptop stand (worth $99) **free** when you get this controller, valid through 17 Sep 2017!!
Iam a beginner and Iam confused between pioneer ddj rb , numark pro3 and platinum. Rb is good but having a very short pitch fader where as mixtrack pro 3 equipped with 100 mm pitch fader which is an advantage for any beginer please help me out to purchase the best one No one has mentioned about the key lock. Does platinum or pro 3 have key lock option in Serato itro
Hey Noel, thanks for checking out the review. We don't have a video discussion for this, but you can check out our full reviews/opinions on each! Here they are: Numark Mixtrack Platinum - www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/09/review-video-mixtrack-platinum-serato-dj-controller/ Hercules DJControl Jogvision - www.digitaldjtips.com/2015/08/review-video-hercules-djcontrol-jogvision-serato-controller/
this controller is the Ultimate buy for any vinyl Dj who likes to mix n blend manually , I've tried them all but this controller has that feel, you don't feel like a controller or laptop Dj
Gremmis many but I wanted controller for more pitch control like when I mix on vinyl on technics , I found this to be perfect , the screens n jog is added plus really , I'm getting the nv2 and I have a pioneer xddjrx
after lot of use I have noticed a problem with the oled screens that DJs should be careful of, they scratch very easy, light marks appear, the plastic is very fin on the displays, it will scratch so easy
Heya Lilibeth, good question. Well, here's our full opinions on each: Pioneer DJ DDJ-SB2 - www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/03/review-video-pioneer-ddj-sb2-serato-dj-rekordbox-controller/ Numark Mixtrack Platinum - www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/09/review-video-mixtrack-platinum-serato-dj-controller/ Basically, they're both awesome...if you want in-jogwheel displays, go for the Platinum
Both are good - here are the full opinions on each: SB2 - www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/03/review-video-pioneer-ddj-sb2-serato-dj-rekordbox-controller/ Platinum - www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/09/review-video-mixtrack-platinum-serato-dj-controller/
Hi Phil, can you make a review on Denon MC7000? I couldn't found any review yet for this controller. Thank you in advance if you would like to make one :)
We just have this for now (but we'll see if we can get one in for review): www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/08/dj-expo-2016-denon-dj-mc7000-serato-dj-controller/
I have a Mixtrack pro 3. It does have bass, mid, treble. You say it didnt. The pro 3 doesnt have separate gains for each deck. I wouldn't upgrade unless the sound card is better.
Sound cards are identical. However, not having gain on the two channels is kind of annoying. Most beginners won't really know the difference, but it is pretty annoying once you understand why having gain on channels is important.
i've subscribed to your newsletter, and have a question . There was a sectence called "Join and get free stuff..." what can I exspect / what is the free stuff ? sorry if my English is very bad
No problem on that - free stuff means: free DJ controller gear and software guides, free Mixing Techniques PDF, and other sorts of stuff we offer over time :) Feel free to email us if you didn't receive any of it - info@digitaldjtips.com
We like both - Here's our full opinions on each: Numark Mixtrack Platinum: www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/09/review-video-mixtrack-platinum-serato-dj-controller/ Pioneer DJ DDJ-SB2: www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/03/review-video-pioneer-ddj-sb2-serato-dj-rekordbox-controller/
Hi Shiv, I found this information for you: support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/208882285-traktor-mapping-for-numark-mixtrack-platinum- Your best bet is to find a user-submitted mapping online :-)
I have been researching for weeks as a beginning DJ. and I and SOO stuck between the Numark Mixtrack Platinum and the Pioneer DDJ SB2. The Platinum has the longer pitch tabs and the bpm screens but I heard Pioneer is more durable and worth it long term plus the SB2 has the full Rekordbox software . BUT I heard that software has its flaws. I NEED HELP :(
Hi there, you can find out more about both controllers on our review pages here: www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/03/review-video-pioneer-ddj-sb2-serato-dj-rekordbox-controller/ www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/09/review-video-mixtrack-platinum-serato-dj-controller/. Both controllers are really good! We can't make the choice for you but we can give advice. It's always best to work out the pros and cons of each and then make the decision which is best for you and your needs. :-)
get the numark...i have had mixtrack quad for over 3 years now...iv battered it and done all sort of foolish things when im little faded and whatnot...it still works perfectly after all the abuse...solid thing, i recommend
They're heavy, solid, and professional feeling :) Check out our full review here: www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/09/review-video-mixtrack-platinum-serato-dj-controller/
The full Serato DJ software has the option to play four decks. To switch to them, you just press the button on the controller and a new virtual deck will open up.
Nothing that comes to mind, it does all the basics right and for the right price. Here's our full review for more details: www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/09/review-video-mixtrack-platinum-serato-dj-controller/
Hi Marius, that's a tough one for us to answer! As always, it depends on your needs and budget. Have a look at our detailed reviews of both controllers and write a "for and against" reasons list. Let us know which one you go for! :-) S2 MK2: www.digitaldjtips.com/reviews/native-instruments-traktor-kontrol-s2-mk2/ Mixtrack Platinum: www.digitaldjtips.com/reviews/numark-mixtrack-platinum/
Numark mixtrack platinum is cheaper .. but it's ok because I'm a beginner .. but Traktor Kontrol S2 Mk2 I think it is much better in all points .. I think I would have more benefits if I would buy Traktor S2 Mk2. .Thank you very much for your help :) I hope I made the right decision
I'm looking for a DJ controller, 2nd hand in the £100-£150 range having DJ'd (amateurishly) on vinyl for years. Sadly the turntables and vinyl have to be put away (for now) as we're down-sizing *sniff*. I was looking at either the Mixtrack 3 or Quad. I don't usually do anything too complicated but I'm tempted by the 4 channel functionality. Is it worth begging the missus for the extra few £ for this?
Hey, is it the Mixtrack 3 or the Mixtrack Pro 3 that you are looking at? The former doesn't have a built in sound card, so be wary of that! If you want four-deck control then the Platinum or the Quad are your best shout. If you want to have the little screens, then you'll have to pay extra for the Platinum. The Quad is quite an old controller now and looks more "toyish" than the Platinum. If you can stretch the extra few quid, I would say go for the Platinum. It will (should) also have the highest resale value in the future. Hope that helps! :-)
Hi. Thanks for the reply - much appreciated. And thanks for the tip on the 3 vs Pro 3 - I didn't know there was a difference. No doubt you've saved me some pain there. Guess I'll have to talk sweetly to the powers that be. ;)
Cian Murray since it uses midi you can assign every button and knob to use with Ableton. Even the jog wheel sends out midi so you could even assign that to anything. But there are better controllers out there for that purpose.
Not a basic entry level controller. Pro 3 Platinum holds its own with lots of professional controllers, the only issue is the small jog wheel and that is only an issue for some people they should have kept the same size jog wheel as Pro 2, however this is smaller and neater than the Pro 2. The equaliser is three band on Pro 2 and 3. Very good controller
I'm no pro but I can make a party rave haha, I use virtual dj 8 with the mixtrack platinum, its free unlike serato even though they say its a lot better, but I do everything on virtual dj 8 and they even have daily tips for all the tricks the system has to make life easier and your music sound and rave better, also the youtuber I watched to learn was ellaskins good dude, pretty crack up but teaches everything you need to know, shows you how and walks you through it in his videos... hope this was helpful Karol Wiglusz
This is not true that Mixtrack Pro 3 had only bass and treble(Even the first Mixtrack Pro had mids). It didn't have a gain. I personally would have prefered to have the gain where the filter is now, and then keep the filter where it was.
id get a Native Instruments Kontr S2 Or The Pioneer DDJ RB i currently use the nexu2 gear from pjoneer but i learnt on an s2 its a good all round controller
RB is best if you want to work exclusively in Rekordbox DJ, the SB2 work great with both that and Serato DJ, and the Mixtrack Platinum for Serato DJ. Pick your software first and then go from there :)
Im just a beginner on virtual dj, But want to buy a good dj controller ,should I go for pioneer ddjsx2 , I have heard that ddjsx2 is compatible with virtual dj can you advise me on this ?
well alot of hardware works with VirtualDJ even the sx2 have you ever thought of trying Serato or Traktor because moving up you will begin to use those softwares
No problem for the video Isaiah! Here are the full reviews for each to help you decide: Platinum: www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/09/review-video-mixtrack-platinum-serato-dj-controller/ DDJ-SB2: www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/03/review-video-pioneer-ddj-sb2-serato-dj-rekordbox-controller/
I am in the same situation. Both controllers look great, but having a hard time deciding which one to go with. I am still new to this hobby so I want the best bang for my buck and to learn all the tricks/tools of the trade.
Well the Platinum is the only one that has in-jog displays, so if that appeals to you both, then go for the Numark. Both controllers work with Serato DJ, but if you want to use Rekordbox DJ, go for the SB2 :)
I like the long pitch faders! Hard to find on budget units!
True!
Good job!
No problem, thanks for watching!
if this also had an usb stick option, it would dominate the market...just think about it, when you already have lcd displays in there.
Stalker woh. So true.
Can’t show song names on those tiny lcds tho
No, they're not designed to do that.
Hey, I love your channel!! It helped me so much, thanks for doing this!
Awesome, you're welcome!
Love your videos Phil!
there is an issue with your statement Phil, the Mixtrack Pro 3 has the treble mid and bass, what it doesn't have is the gain.
Yep, our mistake :)
I see a lot of potential in this!
I wish there would be a Quad Channel variant of this. MixTrack Platinum Quad, please :)
Great review! Keep up the good work:)
Thanks Amir, will do :)
Great, thanks for sharing DJ TIMMY OC. So no plans to upgrade?
Digital DJ Tips not anytime soon, maybe when I become a little bigger and are playing bigger gigs! But for now this gets the job done!
sorry for my terrible english 2:45:
That sound like a buzzer has it all the time my numark mixtrack platinium and it is really annoying because even with the volume to the minimum keeps ringing in the loudspeakers and it is heard loud enough that it can be corrected or my equipment is defective. Thank you!

Good point, and thanks for making it djseaneq.
There's a nerror in your video! Mixtrack Pro 3 does have Bass Mid and Treble. It's missing Gain knobs.
Yep, thanks for the heads up!
there's an error in your spelling of the word error
the mixtrack pro 3 has a full-size eq as well, it hasn't a gain level :)
The Mixtrack Pro 3 did have a 3 band EQ, but it lacked the gain nob. Otherwise, great review.
I was just about to point that out. It had a 3 band eq and the filter was the bottom knob. They just moved it up to add a gain control which was a great change!!!
Thanks, well spotted guys!
It has 8 pads, can it control all 8 sample pads at the same time in Serato's SP-8? (using full Serato DJ)
they keep making new Mixtracks and NS7s but what I want to see is a new NS6. The screens in the platters would be a nice thing to have on an updated NS6. that and some multifunctional pads like on the NS7 series
Good feedback, thanks Don!
Your welcome. I am just a fan of the NS6 and it seems that Numark has abandoned it. It's a shame since it is built so well and works like a dream
Damn, that's a helluva controller!! Is it worth switching from my Pioneer DDJ-SB2, or would you say it's still a good value? Amazing to see what is happening in the lower price range recently!!
Both are good, if you're happy with the SB2, stick with it :) Lots of options in the budget-mid range sector for sure
OMG Phil . my mates getting back into djing . we are gonna do house parties . we came to see a review on this mixer as its what he is thinking of to go with his mac pro and djay . he has linked djay to spotify premium which is really cool .. thanks mate . house parties are going sweet . and even got lasers lights smoke now too ha ha
In practice, the Touchstrip is very iffy for me. Would of been nice to see strip search along with nobs for the FX but thats a small gripe.
Press shift and then use it as a strip search.
Yeah, I get why they did it that way, but Tough Strip effects are kinda eh. They work they get it done. But having a knob for effects seems more reliable for me. Hey bro, plzz tell.me.how to fix wiring system of all djs
The MTP3 has Low, Mid and Hi on the EQ, but no Gain control
Yes, correct ^^^

Looking to pick one up Friday. For anyone else debating on getting this one, guitar center is offering a laptop stand (worth $99) **free** when you get this controller, valid through 17 Sep 2017!!
Nice tip, thanks for sharing! :-)
Do you guys recommend this? Or the DDJ SB2 I'm torn between both these! I don't know which to choose😏
Does this have the same frustrating limitations with the looping buttons that you mentioned in the review of the Mixtrack 3?
Iam a beginner and Iam confused between pioneer ddj rb , numark pro3 and platinum.
Rb is good but having a very short pitch fader where as mixtrack pro 3 equipped with 100 mm pitch fader which is an advantage for any beginer
please help me out to purchase the best one
No one has mentioned about the key lock. Does platinum or pro 3 have key lock option in Serato itro
hi can you make a discussion compare mixtrack platinum to hercules controller jogvision... thanks
Hey Noel, thanks for checking out the review. We don't have a video discussion for this, but you can check out our full reviews/opinions on each! Here they are:
Numark Mixtrack Platinum - www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/09/review-video-mixtrack-platinum-serato-dj-controller/
Hercules DJControl Jogvision - www.digitaldjtips.com/2015/08/review-video-hercules-djcontrol-jogvision-serato-controller/
this controller is the Ultimate buy for any vinyl Dj who likes to mix n blend manually , I've tried them all but this controller has that feel, you don't feel like a controller or laptop Dj
Nice one, yeah it's solid. Have you tested out the NS7III?
Curious what other controllers you have tried? I would very much like the same thing from a controller, having moved on from pro djing on cdjs.
Gremmis many but I wanted controller for more pitch control like when I mix on vinyl on technics , I found this to be perfect , the screens n jog is added plus really , I'm getting the nv2 and I have a pioneer xddjrx
after lot of use I have noticed a problem with the oled screens that DJs should be careful of, they scratch very easy, light marks appear, the plastic is very fin on the displays, it will scratch so easy
how to stop humming and how do you change the pitch range? it's stuck on 8+
looks like they may have been influenced by the Hercules Jogvision ....anyone have an opinion on which is better controller
Phil, would you say this is a vast improvement on the Mixtrack Pro 3?
Does it have a better crossfader compared to the Mixtrack pro3. Mines been on the blink for a while now.
can you turn the lights of the pads off?
Should i buy platinum or mix pro 3???
Hi. Does the controller feel solid, steady? How does it fair with scratching on the plastics? Easily scuffed etc?
The jogs feel heavy, pretty solid and pro :)
Hi Phil! If youre gonna choose between Pioneer DDJ SB2 or this Numark Platinum which one are you going to choose?
Heya Lilibeth, good question. Well, here's our full opinions on each:
Pioneer DJ DDJ-SB2 - www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/03/review-video-pioneer-ddj-sb2-serato-dj-rekordbox-controller/
Numark Mixtrack Platinum - www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/09/review-video-mixtrack-platinum-serato-dj-controller/
Basically, they're both awesome...if you want in-jogwheel displays, go for the Platinum
I Have numark mixtrack Platinum but the sound si not working
PLEASE HELP ! I want to choose one between DDJ SB2 and Mixtrack Platinum. which one should I go for ?
Both are good - here are the full opinions on each:
SB2 - www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/03/review-video-pioneer-ddj-sb2-serato-dj-rekordbox-controller/
Platinum - www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/09/review-video-mixtrack-platinum-serato-dj-controller/
Vaibhav More buy traktor kontrol s4. more professional and has more funktions
Is that an RCA to AUX Cord
It works with virtual dj?
Hi Phil, can you make a review on Denon MC7000? I couldn't found any review yet for this controller. Thank you in advance if you would like to make one :)
We just have this for now (but we'll see if we can get one in for review): www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/08/dj-expo-2016-denon-dj-mc7000-serato-dj-controller/
Great to hear that. Thank you in advance :)
Are the vu meters for master output only?
I have a Mixtrack pro 3. It does have bass, mid, treble. You say it didnt. The pro 3 doesnt have separate gains for each deck. I wouldn't upgrade unless the sound card is better.
Sound cards are identical. However, not having gain on the two channels is kind of annoying. Most beginners won't really know the difference, but it is pretty annoying once you understand why having gain on channels is important.
Agreed, but I'd prefered to have it where the filter is and filter right underneath EQ.
Can you record mixes/performances with the software that comes with it?
Hey Johnny, it comes with Serato DJ Intro, so you'll need to upgrade to full Serato DJ for all the features :)
Seems like there is a new controller being released every week... lol
Certainly isn't a shortage :)
i've subscribed to your newsletter, and have a question .
Ok, thank you ;)
Is that a needle search strip on the top of each side?
Yes, the Platinum has touchstrips for quick track searches :)
which one better that one or ddj sb2 I'm new to this thanks
We like both - Here's our full opinions on each:

Does Mixtrack Platinum work with Traktor Pro?
All the functions including the LCD?
Hi Shiv, I found this information for you:
support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/208882285-traktor-mapping-for-numark-mixtrack-platinum-
Your best bet is to find a user-submitted mapping online :-)
How to connect in numark dj mixer No rca output
Hi, are you looking to connect the Platinum to an external mixer?
I have been researching for weeks as a beginning DJ. and I and SOO stuck between the Numark Mixtrack Platinum and the Pioneer DDJ SB2. The Platinum has the longer pitch tabs and the bpm screens but I heard Pioneer is more durable and worth it long term plus the SB2 has the full Rekordbox software . BUT I heard that software has its flaws. I NEED HELP :(
Hi there, you can find out more about both controllers on our review pages here:
www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/03/review-video-pioneer-ddj-sb2-serato-dj-rekordbox-controller/
www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/09/review-video-mixtrack-platinum-serato-dj-controller/.
Should I get this or the Traktor Kontrol S2 MK2?
Do you prefer Traktor Pro 2 software or Serato DJ?
Still they didn't put the beat counter on the screens :(
they did... '-' It's literally shown in this video... 4:30
@bbm morgan true. i really thought the next gen would have individual gains. guess not.
Thanks for the feedback, have you sent Numark a message?
No problem and no point. Im sure it will be on future releases.
Do the platters feel like vinyl or is it a plastic-feel?
They're heavy, solid, and professional feeling :) Check out our full review here: www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/09/review-video-mixtrack-platinum-serato-dj-controller/
Will the Screens work with Virtual DJ?
they will, i use it with vdj
does It have Key lock?
Can this do scratching?
Sure!
So, I've seen that this has '4 channel capability'.
...but how does that work? Does the Serato version have 4 decks?
The full Serato DJ software has the option to play four decks. To switch to them, you just press the button on the controller and a new virtual deck will open up.
Will this work on a samsung giga sound beat system?
Possibly! Not familiar with that one :)
I love when i type a dj controller on youtube search bar and phil face pops out
:D
i saw it in a picture and i thought it looked like a toy but after the review it seens alot better but i think ill stick to some cdjs and a djm
Thanks for checking out the review :)
How does the jog wheel feel, can you hold it in the middle?
No, only a small area that is touch sensitive. I got used to, though. But then after about 2 month it lost sensitivity on one side.
@@MarkusEdFunkAlther yea mine has the same problem
Is there anything missing that most / pro controllers have?
Nothing that comes to mind, it does all the basics right and for the right price. Here's our full review for more details: www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/09/review-video-mixtrack-platinum-serato-dj-controller/
Nathan Javier pitch range . you can't change it
Can it work in vdj 8 or traktor pro?
Should work well for VDJ 8 and imagine you could find a mapping for Traktor (check DJ TechTools or Traktor Bible for this) :)
I'm having trouble with deleting the cue points, any idea how to do this?
edward granillo shift and press cue-point you wanna delete.
oh awesome, thanks
Thanks for the help Markus!
How do i turn keylock on and off?
You can do so inside your DJ software :)
Hi. I have a question for you .. numark mixtrack platinum or Traktor Kontrol S2 MK2. which is better?
Hi Marius, that's a tough one for us to answer! As always, it depends on your needs and budget. Have a look at our detailed reviews of both controllers and write a "for and against" reasons list. Let us know which one you go for! :-)
S2 MK2: www.digitaldjtips.com/reviews/native-instruments-traktor-kontrol-s2-mk2/
Mixtrack Platinum: www.digitaldjtips.com/reviews/numark-mixtrack-platinum/
Guess I'll have to talk sweetly to the powers that be. ;)
You're very welcome, always glad to help. Good luck :-)
It's 2019 ...does it support Djay Pro 2?
It is really up to the manufacturers of the software to add mappings, not the other way around.
can you use software's such as ableton live with this?
Cian Murray since it uses midi you can assign every button and knob to use with Ableton. Even the jog wheel sends out midi so you could even assign that to anything. But there are better controllers out there for that purpose.
Thanks Markus!
wrong pal 3 band eq was on pro 3. and filter. just no trim/gain on each channel
Right, our mistake :) Thanks for spotting this
can i use this controller with the free version of VirtualDJ?
It has a mapping for Virtual DJ, so yes :)
getting it for christmas
Nice one Alfie, enjoy :)
Is it compatable with serato dj pro and lite
Yes
@@digitaldjtips oh ok thanks
can someone help me with a numark mixtrack platinum mapping for traktor??pls :(
Hey Marius, check out Traktor Bible or DJ TechTools
Not a basic entry level controller. Pro 3 Platinum holds its own with lots of professional controllers, the only issue is the small jog wheel and that is only an issue for some people they should have kept the same size jog wheel as Pro 2, however this is smaller and neater than the Pro 2. The equaliser is three band on Pro 2 and 3. Very good controller
Good points, thanks for the feedback :-)
Hi I'm a beginner and I got a question, do you have to have the serato program or can I just start without it?
on the website they say it is compatible with other systems.. google it, its got all the specs etc I use free software, works great
Peter Rowe Biking Thanks mate :)
Its algood, gotta help out when you can, but yea you can find out anything you want from their website
Peter Rowe Biking can you tell me what software you use?
Does this work well with traktor?
It's meant for Serato DJ, but you might be able to find some Traktor mappings on Traktor Bible or DJ TechTools
Will the dj controler work with Djay pro 2 software
Should do yes : )
@@digitaldjtips Thanks 🤘🏻
👍
can i use it with virtual dj ?
Yep!
7 ?
Pro 3 has 3-band EQ.
can control traktor pro?
There's probably a mapping out there somewhere for that, but out of the box, no.
Is this the same length as a Mixtrack Pro? I hope
Mixtrack Pro - Dimensions (WxDxH): 18.75" x 11.5" x 2.5"
Mixtrack Platinum - 21.6" x 9.5" x 2"
Mixtrack platinum or ddj400? Mixtrack’ Price is lower.
DDJ-400 is what I'd go for, it's personal preference though
Cool controler
Yeah, pretty neat!
Still worth to buy it now ?
I'd rather go for the new one if I had the choice
so what i have to choose sb2 or mixtrack platinum or rb for beginning😩 plss help me
I would say mixtrack plat, my current controller is a Mixtrack 3 non-pro, and i really enjoy it, easy to learn and practice with!
id get a Native Instruments Kontr S2 Or The Pioneer DDJ RB i currently use the nexu2 gear from pjoneer but i learnt on an s2 its a good all round controller
I'm torn between this and the SB2 as well! Why do you say the RB?
RB is best if you want to work exclusively in Rekordbox DJ, the SB2 work great with both that and Serato DJ, and the Mixtrack Platinum for Serato DJ. Pick your software first and then go from there :)
Is there USB plug in?
Yes, it's all USB powered
Thanks
Obviously lol
Is it compatible with virtual dj??
Im just a beginner on virtual dj, But want to buy a good dj controller ,should I go for pioneer ddjsx2 , I have heard that ddjsx2 is compatible with virtual dj can you advise me on this ?
it is, i use it with vdj
well alot of hardware works with VirtualDJ even the sx2 have you ever thought of trying Serato or Traktor because moving up you will begin to use those softwares
DJTasker can I ask you what the benefits of Traktor or serato are over VDJ? cause I use VDJ and I like it so I can't understand why I should switch...
Mixtrack Platinum or DDJ-SB2 for a beginner using Serato software? I'd love to see a comparison video from DDT.
Thanks for the upload!
No problem for the video Isaiah! Here are the full reviews for each to help you decide:
Platinum: www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/09/review-video-mixtrack-platinum-serato-dj-controller/
DDJ-SB2: www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/03/review-video-pioneer-ddj-sb2-serato-dj-rekordbox-controller/
Can you play 4 track simultaneously?
Yes
Digital DJ Tips how with only 2 channel mixers?
@@12tribes61 the 2 faders are layered too
Doesn't work with Mac book pro 2017
What's the issue?
Nice but still too small to me.
No worries :)
