Bought the Platinum FX,plot twist,it works better with Virtual Dj though!It can even change the time lapse to remain on the jog wheels display just pressing Shift+Cue/Pfl,on Serato we cant change the time on the jog wheel display,just showing the total time,kind of useless!
Love the controller,was expecting Serato to have ALL its features working since thats what it comes with!

I am complete newbie to DJ... so i am sorry if my comments sounds ignorant....just want to say that you should not use the background music when trying to show the features and effects....its confusing to figure out if I am listening to the Dj music or background music ..

How is it?
I ordered a ddj 400 and i still haven't received it. The place I ordered from recommend this as a sort of swap order and I have to say. I'm impressed.

So I have a mixtrack pro fix but my serato pro won’t recognize it and I won’t know what could be the problem also I used a ns7 that works fine but when I plug my mixtrack pro it won’t recognize it on serato any help?

Great tutorial! So I have one question/issue-- when you go from Lite to Pro, you get the bottom extra 4 pads added for cue, auto loop, fader cuts and sample... which is nice... but... does that mean you lose the stutter, track back/rewind/FF button functions completely on Pro? Is there a setting or a way to toggle the use of those functions again on the controller in Pro or do I just sacrifice those for the added 4 pads?

I have the new marks Mixmaster Platinum FX and I have Serato Pro how do I get that mixer to Serato Pro need help.... I have a rolling DJ 505 I need it a smaller mixer so I could play at events.. but the Serato Pro does not recognize Numark mixer Platinum FX control help is needed....
What happens when I activate the scratch feature and the track starts to skip randomly? That’s what happens with my mixer
hold on..... i plugged in the plat fx to the monitor and all the lights lit up on the mixer.... didntnt actually do anything
What does Shift + Cue do? It causes the cue pad mode selection button to flash. It goes into some odd undocumented mode.

This video review was one of the reasons I bought my Platinum FX. Quick question though...I feel a slight lag with the jog wheels when I spin them. Scratches don't feel as clean or sharp as they should. The crossfader curve is on the sharpest setting btw. Any tips to fix this?

One question: How did you make your mixer work with your Serato Pro, because when I hook mines up it doesn't respond. But when I hook up my Roland DJ 505 response to that for some reason, but it doesn't respond to the Numark mixtrack Platinum to..Need some Help..???????
You will need a Serato DJ Pro license to use the Mixtrack Platinum with DJ Pro. Otherwise, it will work with Serato DJ Lite for free. You can check out pricing options for the license here: serato.com/dj/pro/buy-dj-pro
@SeratoHQ I have Serato Pro already. Why would I need to buy another one. I put in the license key when I had my roland DJ 505... it came with the program license

All functionality in Lite will still work in Pro after upgrading.

Considering selling my SB3 so i can get this one
I am literally thinkin of buying one of the two. Why would you want to sell the sb3? I have a feeling that buying a pioneer one you sort of pay for the brand's name(?)
I had an SB3 that I exchanged for the this one. I like them both. This one feels a little better in terms of quality. The SB3 feels “light”. This one has some weight to it. Feels solid. The only drawback to this one is the limitation on the effects. You are limited to the six effects on the controller even in Serato DJ Pro. You can access and activate the other effects from your computer, but that can be a little cumbersome. Other than that. It’s great. Also the SB3 was a little better in terms of spelling out the secondary button functions. This one takes some learning and getting used to. The Platinum FX is awesome though. So is the SB3. It all depends on your preference. I just wanted the in-jog displays, lol! I was also considering the Roland DJ-202. It’s fifty bucks more, but it comes with a Serato DJ Pro license. I’m super happy with my Platinum FX though.
@@24Dimosthenis The Numarks have longer pitch faders which are great for intermediate to pro djs who gig out often and are used to the long pitch faders for beat matching or mixing. (I.E DJs who use only the pitch slider to beat match) while maintaining that solid CDJ weight that most gigging DJs will be used to. The SB-3 is great too. But the numarks are more accurate and have a better club feel. But if you're a turntablist like me. I'd keep both. SB-3 for the scratching and the Numarks for purely mixing. Or you could get the new FLX 6.

If I'm just looking to expand Serato Lite usage to have touch controls and something smaller without alot of effects yet. Am I OK with a Party Mix 2 which is about half the price or would I be limiting myself too much and have more fun with either of these? I would only be working at home in front of my PC.

What do I do if I don't want the fast forward and rewind to set cue points? What if I just want them to fast forward and rewind like they do on serato DJ lite?

Am I doing something wrong or have Numark junked the 'Shift + push down the Browse dial' function for expanding crates in Serato?

@@P4boot is a good video, just a fair comment I think that it would be better to see the control knobs and buttons clearly instead like other reviews I have seen

So they connect to the speakers via RCA cables.
hey can someone help me learn how to record mixes on this controller it's causing me so much trouble. I'm using serato pro with a mac book air and I've gotten an RCA cable as well as a audio interface but it still won't read the mix

This controller will be golden if it has the following: rca aux, dual xlr mic in, xlr master out,booth quarter inch, adjustable fader, and compatible with serato and djay pro.
If you run the output through something like a Behringer Q802USB you'd have two XLR mic ins Phantom/Compression/EQ as well as balanced outputs to the house and booth with independent volumes.

forget serato, virtual dj is on another level. Its a joke that you have to use pro to get the bottom row of pads in vdj, you use the shift key and programe the whole pads for another set, basicaly instead of 4 on hand pad effects you have 8 and you can choose whatever you want. In vdj you can change what is displayed in the centre of jogwheels, i have it showing what bar its on, i have it doing whatever I want its like having a totaly different controller than whats advertised, its not twice a controller as it is in serato its infinite. Seriously all the things you need to add to serato are standard in vdj, try it i promise you that you will be shocked as to what serato offers
Cab you get more than 6 FX on the Serato DJ Pro?
No sorry - six is the limit.
vdj lets you double and choose exactly what you want, and it has loads of effects to choose from

My thoughts on this controller overpriced for the poor Quality. Plastic feels cheap knobs quite loose. I've just received the product and is going straight back for a refund. I had a Reloop Beatmix mk2 and for price Quality and build was higher.
