Tears have come to my eyes over our loss of him. When I learned, it was months afterward and it took me by complete surprise; though I knew about his diagnosis, somehow I had just imagined he'd pull through.
At least it's temporary, our loss of him.
God has no favorites. He treats all the same. Some people have more knowledge but that does not impress God. It can please Him but He has no favorites in heaven. He is the Almighty God the Creator of All.

Dr Mike has arrived in Heaven. I bet he’s not resting in peace. The Lord greeted The Good Dr and said let’s roll we’ve got a few things to accomplish. All kidding aside he changed the way I studied and viewed Gods Word. I’m forever grateful to him and someday I will see him in heaven. His family will remain in my prayers. My heart hurts for them.

I've studied everything Chuck Missler, Zen Garcia, David Carico, Jonathan kleck, Richard montbleau, and sooo.... many others. Yet there's such a down to earth and today's understanding honest approach to studying the word!!! Great work and it's such a pleasant blessing to experience these teachings!!!

Unfortunately, Michael passed last year, but his works are still full of life.
God has always been, everything else is created by him and for him.
YHWH is the specific reference to the Most High. God, as a word, Heiser is showing us could be different Hebrew words and even those Hebrew words have a very general meaning, such as Elohim.
After the memorial service live stream last night I thought I would return here. So thankful that I can still hear this teaching. 🙏❤️

I came across DR. Michael Heiser early in my journey and I thank God for this. I, like so many others, have learned so much from him. He has gone home now and I will forever be changed because of him.

I just discovered this intelligent person and wish I had known about him before. I love the way he explains things with knowledge and references the Bible scriptures. He has a peaceful calmness about him.
All of your aforementioned attributes of Dr. Heiser come from the Holy Spirit. Not his own intelligence and knowledge.

This is amazing that I have found this. So timely since Last night and this morning I was studying about the holy ones because Peter quoted psalms. 16:8-11 At acts 2: 27. I even ended up checking references that included the one mentioned here in Daniel.4.
I praise Yahweh because he cares so much that I understand these things.
I think I have always intuitively known the little g’s were spirits. I never realized people were thrown off by this or that it was ever a mystery to someone.

Here's the way I view the Lord God allowing His council to make suggestions.
I love my sons, I want to teach them things in this life. And, I want to know that they know, how to think for themselves and to minimize mistakes when they act. So, when we're working on or planning something. Even though they're young, I will ask their opinion on what they would do, or what they think I should do. Even though I know what has too be done and the best way we should do it. I want their contribution, so if need be, I can teach them why that might not be the best bet. And sometimes, do something how they suggest, if just to show by example why it will not be the right answer, or show them that in fact they were right. But, no matter what, I'm there with them as their "safety net".
I just want them involved and growing.
I believe that, God, being our Heavenly Father and Creator is where we get these types of attributes. It's not hard to believe that He does this with His Heavenly spiritual family, the ones that are faithful to Him.
So thankful that I found Dr. Heiser, so many pieces meshed perfectly together after hearing his teachings, and I can't find any of them that are unbiblical.
This fills my heart with joy!

It is human nature to believe in something. We will follow either "Good Religion" or "Bad Religion". It's your choice, and even if you don't choose, you have made a choice. "Wordly" Religion will lead to destruction and death. Belief in Jesus Christ as your person savior will lead to Eternal Life.

Dr Michael Heiser: My beginning as a child of YHWY was confusing....
we were military and at 2 yrs old polio struck. My parents were overwhelmed; I was admitted to Wm Beaumont Hospital then when stable placed with wonderful Catholic sisters. I lived with them for a few years until we transferred to Wisconsin. I attended a private school for a year then we moved to eastern Washington state for 3 years. I wore leg braces until 9 years old. I was always surrounded by the attentive sister Nuns and the Church and Scripture.
Mass everyday at 11am and HOLY Scripture.
Alcohol was often in the picture during the military life in the 1950s -1960s....
Somehow I knew the God was watching over me, the sisters were a constant stable influence. I remember telling the sisters that my parents didn't follow ANY of the Commandments. They said Father God loved me so and with a heart for GOD I would help others....
PS: I love hymns of all kinds but especially loved a Gospel song 🎵 "Oh Happy Day"....years later while experiencing many months of decimated NOLA the song 🎵 was uplifting by numerous people; I enjoyed Mahalia Jackson and other Christian ✝️ singers.

After reading this post if readers would share thoughts of what Moses meant by "Many Generations". I tried posting this kind of information on Mike's channel multiple times and he or his team never responded.
Genesis 6 & Deuteronomy 32 Explained sons of God
Heiser is correct when he said it should be sons of God in Deuteronomy 32:8. Heiser was a word guy the Hebrew would be >>>>(בני האלהים, bənê hāʼĕlōhîm>"Remember the days of old". Since Mose wrote Torah, the first 5 books of the Bible, which are Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. These "days of old" that Moses mention in verse 7, what Moses is doing is taking the reader back to the Pre-flood time period. Taking Verse 7 (Remember the Days of Old; consider the years of Many Generations;) Can 100% be applied as "sons of God" in Deuteronomy 32:8 as well as Genesis 5 and sons of God in Genesis 6. All makes sense and fits with the Author of Torah who is Moses.
The argument is, is that there No Abrahamic covenant yet, that is 100% true when a person applies verse 7 (Remember the Days of Old; consider the years of Many Generations;) it is more clear and plain to see who the "sons of God" are in both Deuteronomy 32:8 and Genesis 6
Nations are named after a father in scripture. Abraham is considered a father. Jacob (Israel) is the father of the twelve tribes.
Explaining sons of Israel. Exodus 4:22 says "Then you shall say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says the Lord, Israel is my firstborn son". God is speaking to Moses in this passage, also this is another book of Torah. The passage of scripture of the name change for Jacob to Israel Genesis 32:28 "Then he said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed.”
Israel (Jacob) had 12 sons which would be 12 tirbes with Many Generations. Getting back to Exodus 4:22 says "Then you shall say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says the Lord, Israel is my firstborn son".
Since Israel was the "firstborn son" to the Lord God, which would means Israel/Jacobs offspring would be "sons of God" or also to say "children of Israel"
The twelve tribes are as follows: Reuben, Simeon, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, Benjamin, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Ephraim and Manasseh.
See how many Generations came from Isreal (Jacob)
Even the following verses of how the "Text" allows for "sons of Israel" .
Deuteromony 32:9 'But the Lord's portion is his people,
Jacob his allotted heritage.
10 “He found him in a desert land,
and in the howling waste of the wilderness;
he encircled him, he cared for him"
Clearly verses 9 and 10 is talking about the "sons of Israel" which would be Jacob's 12 sons/tribes, key words in the text Jacob alotted heritage (Israel). "The Lord's portion is his people" Israel was the Lord's Chosen people
The 12 tribes were the ones wondering in the desert land which verse 10 is talking about.
That is WHY there is such a debate in the text, both sons of God and children of Israel had "Many Generations". Heiser's divine council of super angels Can Not or Do Not have "Many Generations"
Even looking at Psalm 82:6 "I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you;" The word "sons" is used in the Plurality, which would be referencing that the "sons" are human pretaining to the 12 tribes of Israel (Jacob's sons). The word "gods" Jesus answers that in John 10 also human.
Heiser taught gods/elohim and sons are non human, Psalm 82 is his foundation for his false divine council of super angels. These 12 tirbes (Israel) had the Law of God to govern the people. Elders/Rulers/Judges (gods/elohim/divine council) were part of that governing authority. Nothing angelic (Nonhuman) could govern the people. So naturally Humans are getting scolded in Psalm 82, not anything Nonhuman like angels or spirit beings of a divine council. The "divine council" are the Chosen people of God who given the Law of God. Also had the True Prophets of God.
The proper way of interpreting the scripture of Deuteronomy 32:8 whether it should be sons of God or children of Israel? Well which came first the Patriarchs/sons of God, of Genesis 5 and 6 or 12 tribes of Israel, of course it would be the Patriarchs/sons of God which are listed in Genesis 5 with "Many Generations" the longivity of life spans that they would have seen "Many Generations" and did lived old ages. This is ALL in Context, Context Is King!!
Have to remember when scripture was first written there were no chapter breaks or verse breaks, that was added later in English Translations of scipture.
Small summary, Moses tells us who the sons of God are with Remember the Days of Old; consider the years of Many Generations in verse 7 would be Applied to sons of God.
Deuteronomy 32
7 Remember the days of old; consider the years of many generations; ask your father, and he will show you, your elders, and they will tell you.
8 When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he divided mankind, he fixed the borders of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God.
Clearly this is NOT about a divine council of super angels. This Heiser guy did NOT understand verse 7 (Remember the Days of Old; consider the years of Many Generations;) or Context applied with proper Hermeneutics. He WAS a Blind and False Teacher of scripture when it came to Application, but he was correct in the Translaton of the words sons of God in Deuteronomy 32:8.

I only discovered Dr Heiser last week as I was browsing through CZcams. I was immediately interested in his teaching on the “Elohim”, hoping he wasn’t playing Joseph Smith and his multiple gods doctrine. I purchased his two last books and look forward to reading them and comparing it all with Scripture.
I will probably never be so privileged as to discuss anything personally with Dr Heiser, but I would exhort him strongly to clearly and frequently state that all the “lesser
elohim” are CREATED BEINGS by The Most High God! Otherwise, people may think he’s become a polytheist of some sort!

The more I learn about the Bible the more amazed I become. So much information is packed in like riddles and mysteries that need solving and the dark ages stripped the Western world of so much understanding of the ancient world, yet the prophesies are bringing it all back to us.
One question that is so often asked by students of the Bible is when did the fall happen and I have never felt I had an adequate answer nor did I ever hear one until Heiser opened up the word for me and showed me the progression. YHWH and Yeshua mean so much more to me now. Their love and commitment to mankind is so much richer than I ever imagined even though I am born again and have tasted the goodness of the Lord by the indwelling Spirit.
My Heiser's work be embraced by believers worldwide.

I was always discouraged from angelology because it was either discouraged because of lack of practicality or because it was conflated with the worship of angels, but I can see clearly that its neither of those things. It can actually show us who we are in the supernatural family of God. Now, I probably wouldn't camp here for very long like our brother Dr. Heiser, but I will certainly be here long enough to understand what it means.
I'm of that mind. Of course we can only seek truth. As conscious beings our true speech.
There is some very interesting ideas that we can use to interpret in the relevant science in consciousness, physics, and quantum superposition/collapse.
Because the fools of the earth are trying to understand what they are.

I remember the verse where old boy was wrestling an angel, but it also say he wrestled God. Now it makes sense
I listen to several ministers/teachers/scholars on CZcams and I came across Michael Heiser several weeks ago. I couldn’t get enough and listened to one after the other. Then, during one of his lectures, he said that Adam and Eve could of died before they sinned because God said everything He created was good, not perfect. He said they could of drowned or got a cut and bleed to death. Two things disturbed me when I heard this. 1. They were created in God’s image. God is perfect. 2. Most importantly, Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death.” If sin brings death, how could they have died before they sinned? There was no sin until they sinned. If someone has an answer for this, please comment. I’ve learned a lot from this man but I also let the Holy Spirit be my discernment for God’s truth. I don’t make decisions based on my thoughts or someone else’s teachings. If I feel disturbed by something that I believe the Holy Spirit is showing me, I pray, then research others who I believe teach in truth based on Scripture. No offense meant towards Mike. This is my OPINION, just as he expressed his. All glory to God!

God said through Solomon is that nothing under the sun has changed. The things going on back in biblical times are going on today. His word transcends time. The same needs today existed then. In Churches and in the World. God has written His love letter for and to all of Abraham's descendents that outnumber ther amount of stars.

Dr. Heiser, thank you for a clear, entertaining and concise explanation of the use of the term "gods." Non-believers have pointed to the use of "gods" attempting to undermine a belief in the Godhead. Now I have a fuller explanation of the multiple uses of the Hebrew term "Elohim" meaning supernational being, good, bad or that of a deceased person. Thank you.

What will really get you is the fact that the Bible is not the first time God gave man this information.
Then when you realize that this book tells us of the supernatural abilities that we have but don't use.
You first have to believe that you have them. You then cannot fear them, nor what they may reveal, which you also have power over.
The other unique thing about Jesus as only begotten Son is that He was the only one born human.

There is deception in heaven. As Jesus said the heavens suffer violence! And they take it by force. The deceptions are in the way and the paths, The casting ups or the going down.
The court without & 42 months described in Revelation is the same as the word for sheepfold in John 10.
I think the day of the dead all the veils are down. Time is ended in Revelation 10:5-6. The mystery of God is finished at that time. All can hear the warnings and the trumpets, on earth, in heaven, and beneath the earth. Keep praying for eyes to see and ears to hear and not according to our own understanding.

I am struggling with Psalm 82. I cannot get past the fact that it is addressing Israel as a result of their disobedience.
Israel was termed as God's unique son among the nations of the world since he had chosen them and revealed himself to them and given them his commandments. However, Israel rebelled and now the author is warning them that they are at risk of dying just like the nations who do not know God(YHWH) i.e mere men/mortals.
Why would the author be addressing "angelic beings" in a poem/song written by men?
In fact John 10: 34 proves that the verse is addressing men who by virtue of receiving the word of God become gods.
Psal 96:4-5. We have to read verses 4 & 5 together and not just verse 4 so that we can get what the author is on about. In verse 4 he is referring to what the nations of mortals call gods and in verse 5 he identifies what they are-idols(literally).
I get the feeling that when Israel's authors are talking about the gods (Elohim) of the nations they are referring to idols as the nations depicted them.
While the author's context may be used to refer to other Elohim's-angels/watchers-we must be careful not to read beyond what the author has set out in the text.
Why would Israel be talking about other heavenly beings to her children? The context does not fit the purpose of writing. When Israel was about to occupy the promised land, they were warned about the practices of the Caananites as a result of their gods who were Idols.
So when the shepherds/prophets of Israel are teaching their children they are warning about the gods/idols of the nations. To me, to think otherwise is a stretch too far.
But I remain open-minded. I will keep researching more of his materials.

Elohim with a capital E is the trinity. El/Father/creator, plural/Yeshua/the word, Holy Spirit/ruach.
Elohim with a small e, elohim is plural for his creation’s of his family the elohim. The angel’s are the elohim and when we die, our spirit goes back to El, where we reunite in paradise.
The twelve Tribes is Israel/government perfection, will be reunited for the millennium period before the great white throne judgment to teach the truth/ learn, and discipline. The Ethnoes, are also being taught being in their territories.

Heiser is an apsotate teacher on the elohim, Jesus answers the question long before Heiser. Heiser's biggest problem is he leaves out Jesus and the Prophet Asaph.
When a person read it in the original Hebrew, and you will see the difference between Yahweh as Elohim above all Elohim and the council itself as a lower classification of elohim.
Jesus answers the lower classification of elohim (gods) in John 10: 34 35.
Asaph the Prophet writes Psalm 82: 1 "God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment: Psalm 82:6 - “I said, you are gods.”
John the Disciple/Apsotle writes Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods” ’? 35 If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken),
The lower class of elohim (gods) in Psalm 82 are human NOT non human/angels
WHY because the word of the Lord came to Prophets, God Spoke thru Prophets to the nation of Israel/Jews (Human). The Jews were also given the Law and had the Prophets. NO nonhuman/angel is ever referred to as a Prophet in scripture or were given the Law, Of course angels are messengers in scripture, but that is it.
The Law and Holy Scriptures were given to the nation of Israel/Jews NOT to non humans/angels. How God takes His place in the divine council is by the Prophet Asaph who wrote Psalm 82 and by the Law which was given to the Nation of Israel. What is KEY is that a Prophet of God like Asaph carried and handled the words of the Lord God, Prophets were the VOICE of God that is why it is IMPORTANT that Jesus fulfills these words...... Even common sense tells us that NO book in scripture is named after a non human being or an angel. The Lord God is in a Covenant relationship with MAN, NOT non human beings or angels. God lifts up Prophets in the OT so Jesus can FULFILL what is written and spoken in the OT Fulfilled by Jesus in the NT. Jesus holds the answer of the "gods" (lower class elohim/gods), they are human in both Psalm 82 and John 10.

Law "gods" and Prophets (word of the Lord came to Prophets of God)
What this is saying at who is in the Middle of the Law and the Prophets, that would be the "gods". The "gods" that Jesus is referencing are from Psalm 82.
The "gods" are human and would be the Jews, becasue the Jews were given the Law and had the true Prophets of God. With that said the "gods" are human Jesus has Ownership to the answer of the "gods" of Psalm 82 found in John 10. Heiser is CHEATING Jesus out of the answer and throwing Jesus under the bus. Heiser has lead so many astray with his explanation of Psalm 82. Scripture clearly tells us that the Jews were given the Law and had the Prophets, NOT a bunch of super angels that Heiser promotes. Super angels were NEVER given the Law or had the Prophets of God.

Prophets would handle and carry the word of the Lord in the Old Testament, they were the representative of the words God whated to say>>>> the "Voice" of God. Even Moses is in the likeness of God to Pharoh, Exodus 7:1 "And the LORD said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron shall be your prophet."
2. Since Jesus is repeating what the Father had spoken and said thru the prophtet like Asaph. Since Jesus (Son) is addressing "HUMANS" in John 10, the same is that the God (Father) speaking thru the prophet Asaph in Psalm 82 (Asaph the "Voice" of God) would be addressing HUMANS in Psalm 82. Heiser likes to leave out the "I said" declaration of Jesus (Son) in John 10 and the the "I said" by God (Father) speaking thru the Prophet Asaph of Psalm 82. Jesus is God, God is ONE God made up of 3 persons Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The "I said" delararation is no different than an "I am" declaration.
3. The Godhead/Trinity This is how the 3 persons within the Godhead opearate and function. Only the Holy Spirit (God) can convince a person to understand why the Son (God) has to fulfill the words that the Father (God) that were spoken by the prophet like Asaph and other prophets as well in the Old Testament. It is Said that Jesus has fulfilled over 350 prophecies of in the New Testament from the prophets from the Old Testament. Even Isaiah the prophet who wrote Isaiah 53 was the "Voice" of God in the Old Testament, so Jesus can Fulfill what was said in Isaiah 53.....Isaiah 53 is about the Crucifixion of Christ. Jesus has Ownership to both prophets Isaiah and Asaph of what they wrote and how God (Father) spoke thru them. Prophets were given the word of the Lord
4. Jesus is the word/Word become flesh John 1: 14 "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." Jesus fulfills the Law and the Prophets, Jesus says in Matthew 5:17 "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill." No super angels of a divine council were ever given the Law and the Prophets, it would be the Nation of Israel
5. To address to "die like men" In Psalm 82: 7 is Referring to those bad elders, rulers, leaders or judges within the nation of Israel that have High Authority, they favor the wicked and judge unjustly, they do not follow through with their responsibilities, duties, and do not represent God or the law, these High Officials are just men, they have High Rank so they will die like men. They are human not divine beings. God has always set up rulers within the nation of Israel and even throughout the world.
In Numbers 11: 16 “So the LORD said to Moses: “Gather to Me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people and officers over them; bring them to the tabernacle of meeting, that they may stand there with you.”
1 Samuel 8 : 1-4 When Samuel became old, he made his sons judges over Israel. 2 The name of his firstborn son was Joel, and the name of his second, Abijah; they were judges in Beersheba. 3 Yet his sons did not walk in his ways but turned aside after gain. They took bribes and perverted justice. 4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah.
God has ALWAYS set up Governements in the world not just with in the Nation of Israel, Romans 13: 1 "Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God."
6. Clearly the "gods/elohim" of Psalm 82 are human judges, some even apply kings. The Old Testament has a book called Judges as well as two other books 1 Kings & 2 Kings. No book in scripture is applied to something nonhuman or angelic. Psalm 82:6 "“I said, ‘You are “gods”; you are all sons of the Most High.’.... The word "sons" used in this passage is an "Adoptive" Term for Israel, Israel was the chosen people of God.
7. Psalm 89 has NOTHING to do with Psalm 82. Hieser likes to mix those chapters together. Psalm 89 is in the heavenly and spirtual realm when Psalm 82 is on the earth and the physical world. The same logic heavenly and spiriitual would apply to 2 Chronicles 18:21 and 1 Kings 22:19-23 where it mentions a scene in heaven and the lying spirit. The heavenly hosts in scripture refers to the sun, moon and stars.
In Summary
The Humans are Jewish rulers in both Psalm 82 and John 10. Psalm 82 Jewish rulers like judges or even kings. John 10 Jewish rulers like pharissees. Psalm 82 would be human, NOT a bunch of super angels, like Heiser promotes. Heiser throws Jesus under the bus. Heiser CANNOT answer the question of the gods/elohim of Psalm 82 becasue Jesus has already answered the question of the gods/elohim in John 10. Jesus has Ownership to the answer, since Jesus is addressing humans in John 10 the same would be humans are being addressed in Psalm 82, not a bunch of super angels of a divine council. Heiser has manipulated so many minds and has triggered the mind to think this "divine council" is non human. Jesus clearly gives us the answer the divine council is human.
The phrase and title given "you are gods" is a legalistic title of Authority because the Jews were given the Law and as well as judge with the law. The Jews were given the Law and 10 commandments to govern them and council them, so it is imposible for this to be nonhuman spirit beings or angels. The Jews also had the True Prophets of God. God also established covenants with Humans, not nonhuman spirit beings or angels.

What about the book of Job? Doesn't it describes the council too? When the Sons of God and satan csme to the presence of the Lord, Job 1:6-12 and again in Job 2. Why aren't these two moments in the list with Psalm 82?

Interesting teaching. However, I find it difficult to get past the issue that the presenter keeps referring to God as Yahweh. Many believers make this error but I expected more from someone doing a deep dive into scripture.

No Yawyeh is not God the creator of the universe. He is one of the gods known as the Elohim. He leads the Israelites and ferments war. The rules and the way of worship for thr Jews was changed under King Josiah. Check out Paul Wallis and Mauro Belingo. I am just learning this myself.

I just watched a video where Heiser first admits the the Book of Enock was not written by Enoch and could not have been but the rest of the video he talks about the book as it was written by Enoch 100 percent and tells us how Enoch wanted us to understand this and that.
Could the “ heavenly council “ be referring to the trinity? Instead of separate spiritual beings?
