      @@JustFun-fe7ux Also, the hungarians also doped most likely. Just that they got their doping in a different form. They got "Vitamin C" and "Glucose" pills before the game, said the Hungarian keeper. And "Vitamins" etc. is and was often used as cover or euphemism for doping.
      And unlike what Swallow says: No, with no rules against it, it wasn't cheating. Especially since, as i just said, the hungarians probably also "cheated".

    It was very controversial. The referee wrongly annulled Hungary's 86th-minute tying goal. In addition, Leipzig University recognized that the Germans used illicit substances.

    • @undertakernumberone1
      @undertakernumberone1 Před 2 lety +4

      Yeah... just htat those substances back then WEREN'T illicit. They became outlwaed in Football in the 60's.
      And the hungarian keeper recalled that they'd been given pills of Glucose and Vitamine C before the game... which probably were also performance enhancers instead of Glucose and Vitamine C.

    • @Pintovision2010
      @Pintovision2010 Před 2 lety +5

      @@undertakernumberone1 If the University of Leipzig studied the case and concluded that substances were used to gain athletic advantage, there must be a compelling reason for the investigation. Also in the previous game that Germany vs Hungary played in that World Cup, a German player broke Puskás's foot, which was a horrible act.

    • @undertakernumberone1
      @undertakernumberone1 Před 2 lety +3

      @@Pintovision2010 again - The substances weren't illicit back then. So all the University really found out was that players used substances that TODAY would be illegal but the usage of which was allowed back then. (and again Hungary most likely doped as well. "Vitamin C" of course. just before the game. mhm. Especially considering how later eastern bloc sportlers were doping cocktails on legs).
      About Puskas. He got fouled and got a hairline fracture in his ankle. I've seen any convincing argument or statement by Liebrich that the injury was intended. Fouls themselves can be part of the football tactic and sometimes injuries happen. That doesn't mean that an injury was the intended consequence of an attack even if such stuff of course also happens but attributing this to Liebrich without any real evidence...
