  • If you need to add subtitles to your video, you have two options:
    1. You can upload premade transcript file (.srt format) to the video editor
    2. Or you can type subtitles from scratch right in the program
    In this tutorial, we'll show you how both options work in VSDC. Plus, you'll get to know the new markup feature that allows you to add timeline markers for each subtitle -- an easy way to align audio, video, or effect with narration.

    The idea is great. A drag on the timeline option to adjust would be so much easier than manually adjusting times inside the program. This is a lot of steps and very time consuming overall. I love VSDC but this editing option is complicated.

      I don't see complications like that in the VSDC subtitling tool.
      Maybe if you tell them what is difficult to subtitle for you they can help you.
      Subtitling videos is a complicated process and a lot of work too. I think VSDC does a great job in subtitles and especially for amateurs it has never been so easy to work with subtitles. But each person has their flow so it's different for each one, but that's the flow and not the software.

    is it possible to create any kind of outline to the subtitles? it's hard to read text without any kind of border. the contouring is also kinda meh in text objects, because the only options I see are simple/square/round, but they don't even do anything. instead an inside/middle/outside option would make way more sense.

    Hi VSDC, can you make a new effects about glows, because this is one of the most effects that I used in my edits, but I think gaussion blur and blending ain't enough for a good glow effect that's why I use different third party softwares and apps that really consumes my time. Can you do it for me? I promise to offer the paid version of this software to my co-workers since I'm a pro user. Little tip: The software is a really really good, but it's underrated it's likely an app called alight motion, but it lacks of template effects like the shake effect I need to do it manually with shift effect and more template effects you can find in many application editor. Try making some of those cause it's really really worth it.

    Just wondering if there is a known glitch or bug when adding subtitles? Adding an srt which uploads correctly using other software but when using VSDC it doesn't always apply the subtitles. I can see the markers on the video and I have tried changing the font style size and color and cannot get certain subtitles to show up. I have been typing all the subtitles out by hand to try and figure out what the issue is. Firstly I noticed that VSDC does really like the format shown in the video which is fine. What I don't love is when I convert an srt to that format and it still doesn't show up. The markers are there showing there should be text but there's just nothing on the screen. It's like a coin flip if this software is going to work or not.... I'm unsure if there needs to be a certain amount of time between subtitles or any other parameters that are missing because this seems to be one of the only guides to adding subs to videos in VSDC. Granted I could add them with other software but I would like to be able to do all my editing in a single program... Frustrated to the point where I'm about to give up on VSDC... =( Love the program other than this issue ( Which I have spent no less than six hours straight working or trying to get it to work on since this morning.. )

    • @LadyAnimeYuki
      @LadyAnimeYuki Před rokem

      To add to the level of frustration I just noticed that after the last line of subs you need two enter's or else it somehow thinks it is breaking the format. I have line 1 and 2 showing up and then line 4. Line 3 has markers but they are just blank. The format and everything else is exactly the same. No special characters or anything different so I have no idea why it's not working this time..

    • @LadyAnimeYuki
      @LadyAnimeYuki Před rokem

      ended up pasting the text into discord as code and noticed an extra enter above the words for subtitle line 3. Not sure where or why this is here since I deleted the spacing around all the numbers and words and reformatted it several times. Ended up formatting it in discord and pasted it back into VSDC and magically it works. The VSDC sub editor imo is more of a headache than anything seeing as how I wasted several hours of my life on this hopefully this can help someone else in the future. CHECK YOUR INVISIBLE SPACES that don't show up in the editor OR notepad... yay.

Secondly, creating subtitles in general takes a lot of time and that is the main problem. I’ll try to use markers as you explained in the video, hope it helps to speed up the process. I’ll try to explain what I’m searching for, but unfortunately I’m not that fluent in English to make it clear I guess. Hi, I hope all is well!
      So what you're looking for is not a video editing software function. Subtitling a video is a laborious process in many ways and I see a lot of nonsense written here in the comments by very amateur video editing people who really don't have the knowledge and experience to talk about editing in the comments... Some editing software do subtitling automatic but always needs several adjustments.
      Try subtitling in Premiere Pro and you will see how bad it is to subtitle videos... I think subtitling in VSDC is very good and if you give markers a chance you will see that they are very useful and if you use creativity you will see even more their usefulness. Unfortunately, now I can't remember a site that does very good automatic subtitling and you'll have to make the adjustments... I promise if I remember I'll come back here to tell you.

    VSDC is horrible!! It is not letting me upload videos to CZcams...been trying for 2 days now, all the error messages say that it is the wrong file. I use the CZcams settings when exporting my video, so I have no clue & the other video's I've seen were of no help.......thanks for hindering my channel.

      @@ahmedmalik9372 Well I'm not one to search for this on the internet but I can tell you two ways:
      1. The VSDC website itself, which has amazing tutorials and you will learn a lot, believe me.
      2. Here on CZcams there are many channels doing really cool things using VSDC, you can search what you will find... There is one that is very old and is no longer active, but he dedicated himself to doing various types of lower thirds using VSDC ... and the cool thing is that although the main subject is this, watching you will learn many things unrelated to the main subject. I don't remember the name of the channels, sorry... but search on youtube that this is one of the channels that will appear in the search result.
      I know it's great to find transitions and effects already ready, just to use... yes, it is and I agree with that... but if you learn to do things, you're not limited to what others do and you you can be able to do whatever you imagine without waiting or being stuck with what other people do... isn't that much better?
      If others do it, you can do it too, you also have the ability to do it... if I don't know you, I believe that you can do it, you also have to believe in yourself.
      A gossip, lol... Did you know that Premiere Pro's native transitions are few and considered very basic?... and this is much talked about among video editors... so a famous video editor decided to show that despite this be true, if you use it with creativity and intelligence you can make amazing transitions just using them.
      I hope it helps you!!!
