I spent so many hours playing freelancer. It was an amazing game.
I still play it today between the BSG mod, the old offline freeworlds mod, discovery, crossfire, or the Tie Fighter 9.2 mod with an HD and spinning worlds mod

X4 Star Wars Interworlds is amazing. There is a learning curve, but there are plenty of guides and you'll catch on within an hour or two
I remember when i first found the wreck of the Hispania.
Loved this game. Still play a modded version today. Many more systems and stations.

Yep, I'll be putting some time into it very soon. Wanted to stream it but im afraid my connection just wont be able to keep up with the visuals so I think it will be a recorded playthrough.
This is incredible. I haven’t played this game in forever and I was just thinking about it a few days ago. The Valkyrie is my favorite ship.
I love the idea of the interplanetary warp tunnels, because otherwise crossing the star system would take months. It's rare to see a sci-fi actually acknowledge the enormity of space that way, the only other one I know of that does is Cowboy Bebop.
Holy shit! I had forgotten about this game! It was so ahead of its time, and yet went right under the radar of most who call themselves "gamers"! Where can I find this game now?
I’ll be honest this game I didn’t play as much as many did, I preferred its predecessor StarLancer for the more classic Wing-Commander style game play and storyline.
Ive been meaning to try this out after hearing it was almost like SC or ED, but you know... Not half baked.
Btw, recently started playing Angels Fall First after having it on my steam for years without playing it. It's another really underrated space sim. You might like it.

@2:53 you get into a discussion about AI. I would argue that until AI can create, it is not AI. Call it VI, (virtual intelligence,) advanced automaton, something that is good at pretending to be autonomous and intelligent, but it is not AI.
Semantics. While I agree with you the fact is the people that created it call it AI, the people that market it call it AI, the people that research it call it AI, the people that stand against it and want it banned call it AI and the general public call it AI.
Your not wrong but the name is what it is by public acceptance.
@@MagzGTV Agreed. The people that are calling it AI, should not. It confuses the “pure” discussion. I think that it should called “AI research,” or maybe “Virtual AI”. This would clarify, what it is, that we are looking at. Not an independent being that is, self-aware, can think, and create, but an advanced facsimile of such. As in, we are researching and developing AI. We are not there yet, not even close. The worrying thing for me is, these terms are being intermingled as if they are interchangeable. They are not. But, the public discourse, (both the media, and Joe Ignoramous, (Bloke or Shiela that does known any better,),) do. This creates confusion. It is why I called you out. Thank you, for acknowledging the distinction. Still, it bothers me that, we as humans are so ready to exchange one meaning for another without giving it a second, of thought.
