As much as it is well deserved and earned, it's still sad seeing everything that Walt built so well and perfectly going to hell in a diversity hire handbasket.
Not just Walt Disney & his company, but so many other aspects of the US are also falling apart. Last night's presidential debate would have been unthinkable not too many years ago, much less over 20-30 years ago. Places like today's city of San Francisco would have been unthinkable over 10 years ago. Etc, etc, etc.

Epic Universe opening will destroy WDW attendance even more next year. Dollywood, Universal Studios (Comcast), and all the competitors are upgrading their parks; whereas, Disney is going grey sterilized clean girl aesthetic (basic b*tch). At least it matches with the wine moms stereotypes that are Disney "influencers".

Valiant, why hasn't anyone yet done anything about all of the terrible things we learned about that Disney was doing with reedy Creek? They violated multiple rules dozens if not hundreds of times and yet I have not seen one article about a single case brought against them by any person or agency about any of it?
Florida is the aggrieved party. Florida doesn't want to make things any worse then they have to and given the chance will just set the scale to 0 and act properly moving forward. Beyond extra tax or fee type penalties it's unlikely anything would be done against the company directly since they still need a positive working relationship
It's doubtful anything is going to be done. When the SEC whistleblower came out nothing was done then either. When someone turns in thousands of documents that proved internal control issues and fraud and nothing was done you can tell there was corruption inside of the SEC and the DOJ.
@@vixaris They don't need a positive working relationship with Disney. They have Universal & Epic Universe, which is going to bury DW anyway. (Disney is also committing sepuku by driving away the very people they rely on to keep losing hundreds of millions at the box office)

Would investors have been so bold 20 years ago to move on, It was up to Disney to lose, and they have done it well.

Disney allocated a staggering $180 million budget for The Acolyte. It's a disgrace that they refuse to acquire the best for Epcot Center.

After vacationing on Disney resorts every year for years I’m not taking my family to a US Disney property ever again, going to splurge next year on an Epic Universe vacation.
EPCOT was supposed to be an actual community in which families lived out their lives as beta testers for a host of products from presumably mostly American companies. Disney would get money from the companies for providing the services of these families and the families would get to live on the cutting edge of product innovation in an approximation of an anticipated future world.
I think that if Walt Disney hadn’t gotten sick and then died fairly soon, it might have actually happened. There would have been no shortage of people wanting to live in EPCOT and to a degree be human zoo animals for visitors to WDW.
Keeping the EPCOT name was idiotic, but I think that that was initially meant as a sort of memorial to Walt.
The name isn't a memorial because the real Epcot never got built. It's called Epcot as a reminder why this alternative project of scale was even built. It's a tribute but also a stamp of the actual location where Epcot's center was supposed to be.
The only thing that scares Iger is losing his power. It's his Precious.
