This series seems like how Mark Rober has made a whole career explaining science in a way people who arent scientists would understand. Making that science useful to the everyday man.
I would take 1% of his success. So let’s hope it works. Glad you enjoyed it and thank for such a nice compliment
For those of us that refuse to "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain," and want to see and understand the Great and Powerful Oz, these videos are great! Thank you for creating such clear and understandable explanations!
Imagine scaling this technology all the way up and using it to recreate a lighter weight yeti for Expedition Everest! Removing the heavy structure of the yeti and replacing it with air pumps and hoses could mean that we'd see a functional yeti again some day. This is very exciting, and the video was super interesting. My vote is for more videos like this but only if they help your channel.
Genius using this to animate a lighter yeti
Perhaps this is one of the "solutions.". Now to find an opportunity.
Short answer: YES. You should make this a new series. Only thing that would make it better is you at WDI interviewing the Imagineers and seeing the tech first-hand.
Not just a series, a channel. And not just Disney - do videos on things like the Donkey Kong ride technology
(takes a look at the video)... Animitronics that can lift objects (How heavy is unknown), but... think about this. They've proven it can walk, potentially. It's big. It's full of air, it uses a soft plastic to inflate and move on programmed command. It can grab, and therefore, hug...
They have proven they have the theory to build Baymax. That's potentially exciting.
I love when somebody shows me something I didn’t know I wanted to see!
Exactly
Awesome work! Love how you have found your own niche that no other vlogger has quite captured. Keep em comin!
Brickey, You really are a creative genius! I appreciated the subtle screams of delight in the background during your intro. We’re all cheering for you!
I’m so glad that you brought up the possibility of animating the background of scenes! When I saw the tentacle and worm forms, I immediately thought of the upside down from Stranger Things…how you could have those tendril, almost intestine-like forms writhing and pulsating. This is such an inspiring and thought-provoking way to start my day. Thanks for this amazing content, Brickey!
Hey Brickey, I love your videos, they're so different from all the other Disney stuff out there
Glad you think so!
Brilliant, Brickey! Love that you are finding your place in the Disney vlogosphere❤❤❤.
Thank you!! 😊
💯
This was so cool. Makes me wonder what Murphy Dragon 3.0 is going to be able to do.
Very cool, I have always enjoyed seeing the stuff imagineering is working on that doesn’t necessarily have a clear intent yet, like the floor that was featured recently. I like your ideas for it, I picture this also being a fun way to make the creepy crawlies creepier and crawlier in whatever the Indiana Jones attraction might be in Animal Kingdom. I wonder if this concept started with the “breathing” banshees in Flight of Passage. I can see it being used to make something look like a fully articulated, free moving animatronic (probably on a smaller scale), when in reality, it’s just a series of these combined with projection mapping - like more than the frog breathing, but appearing to jump and land, with no moving parts except the inflation/deflation. That would be advanced, but eventually possible. Yeah, I vote for more of these!
Damn, I feel like you're calling me out directly - I live for the next Disney Research Hub drop... 🤣
My people!!! It just us watching those videos over and over
@@HeyBrickey And this is the beauty of this video. I hadn’t heard of the Disney Research Hub until today, but I enjoyed every minute of this. Great video, Mark!
Yes indeed Brickey… You have presented a fascinating new theme, and are making us excited for technology breathing life into what we know and love on earth, like frogs in a pond…. !… And being passengers on
Mr Toad’s Wild Ride will still be thrilling !…
Love this comment!
Mark, honestly I’m down with whatever you’re into. Keep up the good work.
While I have only visited DisneyWorld, I do appreciate your vlogs and the way you present information. This was really interesting and hopefully, you will continue with this series.
Great start to you new series! Looking forward to episode 2!
Best Disneyland content creator! I’m always looking forward learning more stuff about Disneyland from Brickey!
Love discussions of how nerdy the “normal” world is. Another vote for to continue!
disney has always been making the unreal, real. so if they are able to bring life to as many things as possible, it will only be more convincing. great analysis.
I always trust you with my time!
I appreciate you!
This has possibilities...
Please keep these coming! Incredible way to present this stuff! LET'S GO! Keep it up, my man!
i think this new series is as intriguing as the technological concepts you are presenting. keep up the good work.
I appreciate that ❤️
Ready for Episode II ... NOW!!! 😉 Great Stuff!
Thanks!!! Let’s hope it works.
Love this topic Brickey and you are continuing to break new ground this year and it’s good to see the subscribers rising! Keep it up B!
Keep it coming Brickey, love the science of Disney.
Love the parks and crafts name idea
Pneumatic robotics are cool. They’ve also impervious to water so I’d expect to see them on wet rides.
Ready for episode 2!
i would def go with "Parks and Crafts"! Especially since you'd be talking about Craft in a contemporary sense, the crafts that go into making theme parks be amazing
Love this video! I’m a sucker for science and technology so this naturally has me hooked. Thank you Brickey!
LOVE this idea for a series!
You've been crushing it, Brickey!! Keep up the great work!! - OG55 Crew
I’m in action business. Without guys like me the reaction business would go broke. Thanks for sharing the wealth!
This is the Disneyland water cooler CZcams channel I have been looking for. Great videos and I appreciate you!!
Wow, loved the colors of the intro... and the concepts that you might be explaining. Cool. And I like "Parks & Crafts". But yeah, I'm going to have watch the demos a couple of times!.
Ooooh, I could see frog example being used in a very animated physical version of something like "Kiss The Girl"! Yeah, I know, not really very original (it's frogs, after all), but very interesting. Wow, and if you lose a single or even a few animatronics, it wouldn't make a major difference.
Oh, my, I'm thinking the tiki's in the Tiki Room!
Oh dang! That's some awesome new tech and some awesome insight! Well done!
Thanks Tim!
Yes! I love this episode! Understanding how design can influence and create immersion is a really thoughtful topic. Taking the patents and linking them to the design process for ride development is a really cool take on a really dull subject!
Thank you for this video. Some explanation of the science interspersed with multiple examples of Disney applications was just the right balance to keep me engaged. Good work!
That was the goal. Glad it worked ❤️
I love this idea. I'm definitely down for watching more of this series!
Youre the only channel that makes sense. Ive seen some channels that really go off the deep end getting mad at wrong assumptions they create lol😂
Love learning about new stuff! Thanks for all the work you do Brickey. Your imagination brings these ideas to life!
This is fantastic. I echo the statement that I trust you with my time!
Outstanding work and idea. THIS is the stuff I love; while everyone else is doing “top ten churros” nonsense, you’re bringing real interest and imagination to what you do. There’s an audience for it, and I’ll be the first in line! Thank you sir for all your hard work, you’re a cut above!
Love the beginning of the video where I hear you talking + Matterhorn winds in the background 🤩
Such a beautiful landscape for your intro 😍😍 and with that sparkly monorail in the back! I could hardly concentrate on your words. I haven’t even finished watching I had to comment. Love Disneyland at night 😍😍
A very exciting time for the future possibilities of Disneyland ! Thanks for bringing this to us, this series will be fun. Keep up the good work !
Super cool video series concept! Can't wait to watch it all!
Your enthusiasm in this video had me hooked from the very beginning!!!
Great way to break this down in a manner that was entertaining and teaching us in the audience something new. And most important, articulating all of the future possibilities with this tech.
I hope this video gets to 20k fast … so we can enjoy the 2nd episode!!
Thanks for consistently coming up with novel ways to share Walt’s dream with all of us!
Please keep doing these for my sake pleeeeeeeease
I'm all for it, Brickey. Looking forward to seeing you at the Parks one day, too.
My 9 year old son and I stumbled upon one of your videos recently (a Galaxy's Edge one). He ultimately lost interest but I'm a civil engineer so this is right up my alley. Yeah, keep it coming!
I subscribe to a lot of Disney vloggers, but it’s your channel that I always choose to go through to catch up on videos! It’s very obvious that you really studied this topic in order to execute it the way you did. Thank you! Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and I am LOVING this new series idea!
Great video! I love this stuff! Can’t wait for video #2
Absolutely keep this up, it is CRIMINAL that your channel is only at 42k subscribers but with content like this I can see millions. Also, with your extensive knowledge of engineering and the theme parks in general if you haven't already I really think you should try and wiggle your way into being an Imagineer, not that we don't like you here because we absolutely love you, but Disney needs more creatives like you to keep the magic alive.
I grew up watching The Wonderful World of Disney/Color and especially enjoyed Walt explaining the technology being created for the 64-65 New York Worlds Fair, Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion. Brickey, this new series you are doing is 1. Fantastic, 2.) You are "plussing" your content, and 3.) paying a great homage to Walt Disney by continuing to keep the magic alive by taking us behind the technology window of Imanginering. Keep these videos coming....you are a very good presenter!
This is fascinating!! Yes please keep making this series!
Because of you I learn why I love everything I see and experience at DLR✨✨
❤️
From the original Tiki Room animatronic birds it fascinating to learn how the newer tech is showing better movement and environment for future stories … Thankyou !!!!
Really well thought out. Great vodeo
Really wonderful video. Great work!
Keep it up, Brickey! I always look forward to your videos as a fellow design nerd. This new series seems like an awesome way to explore imagineering innovations!
Count me in for this exciting new series. What a dream come true for me, thanks Brickey! Subscribed.
Very cool !
I don’t watch much Disneyland stuff as I live in Florida. But I really like your explanations. Thanks Brickey ! I appreciate you 😃
Yup, I'm in.
I will be looking forward to more of this. Disney Engineering for Dummies sounds like the next T shirt.
Great idea for a series
This is SUPER interesting, I love seeing the design elements and learning about how the parts work! Appreciate your deep dives , had to watch this a couple times to really grasp the capabilities of the layered tech solutions!
It's like how they projected faces onto statues for the Haunted Mansion, but now the statue is also animated. This all better go in the Encanto ride!
Love the idea, can't wait to see more.
Yay! Thank you!
There's a lot of promise to a series like this. WDI and other Disney divisions have a long history of cool R&D that you could mine.
I absolutelly love this video format. I have seen nobody tapping into this yet. I love it!!
I love listening to you. Dreaming along with you too.
That’s the fun of being a Disney parks fan.
Enjoyed your new content, Brickeys version of Modern Marvels always enjoy learning something new!
Love your content and your unique take on Disney. I’m also a design nerd, and love these details. I grew up in the park, but haven’t visited in 30 years. Looking forward to coming in September when I have a conference nearby and basking in the living story which is Disneyland.
That is awesome!
This will be a cool series. As an Engineer, I enjoy seeing what Disney's working on behind the scenes.
Awesome new series. It seems like this technology might drastically reduce maintenance demands and costs in animatronics also.
This is great! My daughter dream is to do something for Disney in imagineering she is going to love this! Maybe also talk about where imagineers go to school or studies as well. this would be great for kids in STEAM paths.
I would like to see more like this.
Yes! Loved this one. ❤
As someone who dreamed of being an imagineer since I was 6, this is great.
You deserve more subscribers
I would love to see more of this series. I would see how this technology could be used to make attraction backgrounds more animated. I also think it holds great potential for the future of animatronics.
Keep up the good work. I love technology explained, I gives me ideas what I might be able to do in the future.
This is the stuff! Love seeing all the ins and outs behind this tech as it develops and love thinking about how it could make a difference in Disney Parks for years and projects to come!
The Disney research hub is one of my favorite channels. Thanks for doing this
You are fantastic at this.
Love it, more please! 😊
Keep up the good work! 👍
I love these videos!
Really into this new series! 👏🏻
Please keep this content coming!!! To state the obvious I am a Disney fan, and the not so obvious my degree is in manufacturing engineering. You have combined my love of Disney and my love of tech well done!!!
Love it. More of this please.
this is sick. please do more of this for sure! love your 1901 sweater too!
The kid in me was fascinated back in the day, the adult in me is fascinated with how it’s done! I need animated frogs 🐸 and breathing walls at home! 🤩
Heck yes! I found you during the pandemic on podcast and been following ever since. Love all this.
B these type of videos are 🔥 keep up the great content G
Love the new channel idea! Make it a thing!
Always get excited when I see you post a new video
Another series to Disnerd over??? Yes, please!
