    When you said that we should remember how we loved reading as children, I had to stop since the memories of me reading did not come up immediately. I almost gave up on trying to remember until I could remember myself reading a mystery tale in the dark. The rest of the video helped me realized that I never felt like I was reading or that I had a good habit back in the day, I was just having fun.

    I started reading again around 4 days ago ,
    And completed the entire THE ALCHEMIST book in just a days 😅
    ( 7 hours )
    And now for 2-3 days havn't read a page , because was outside most of time.
    But my next read is THE ATOMIC HABIT🎉

    • @lumilumi1746
      @lumilumi1746 Před měsícem

      amazing job. If you liked atomic habits I can recommend "Do hard things" to you.
      Synopsis:
      "In Do Hard Things, Steve Magness beautifully and persuasively reimagines our understanding of toughness. This is a must-read for parents and coaches and anyone else looking to prepare for life's biggest challenges." -- Malcolm Gladwell, author of Outliers and Talking to Strangers and host of the Revisionist History podcast
      From beloved performance expert, executive coach, and coauthor of Peak Performance Steve Magness comes a radical rethinking of how we perceive toughness and what it means to achieve our high ambitions in the face of hard things.
      Toughness has long been held as the key to overcoming a challenge and achieving greatness, whether it is on the sports field, at a boardroom, or at the dining room table. Yet, the prevailing model has promoted a mentality based on fear, false bravado, and hiding any sign of weakness. In other words, the old model of toughness has failed us.
      Or "Rest: Why you get more done when you work less"
      Synopsis:
      Overwork is the new normal. Rest is something to do when the important things are done - but they are never done. Looking at different forms of rest, from sleep to vacation, Silicon Valley futurist and business consultant Alex Soojung-Kim Pang dispels the myth that the harder we work the better the outcome. He combines rigorous scientific research with a rich array of examples of writers, painters, and thinkers - from Darwin to Stephen King - to challenge our tendency to see work and relaxation as antithetical. "Deliberate rest," as Pang calls it, is the true key to productivity, and will give us more energy, sharper ideas, and a better life. Rest offers a roadmap to rediscovering the importance of rest in our lives, and a convincing argument that we need to relax more if we actually want to get more done.

      @@lauaxia810probably follow the same patter of establishing a good habit, first take note of when you normally sleep and when you wake up, you find the cause of it, if its because of work you try to get moet of your work done before the time you want for your sleep schedule, you try to make your bed as comfy as possibly, limit caffine and reduce screen time before bed, do somethinh that you might find very boring before bed like meditating, reading or some other stuff, reduce lights, slowly try to build the habit of sleeping early, if you sleep late try to slowly make the time you sleep earlies you can do this by reducing the time you spend on your phone, eating your dinner earlier, making sure nothing disturbs you while sleeping, taking a very relaxing bath before sleeping, doing some yoga and stretches etc etc. I hope this helped

    First off, I saw in your other video a great majority of the comments were surprise from how little views/subscribers you had. My phone is in Japanese (I do not speak Japanese) so I couldn't tell how many you had. I just saw that it was only a couple hundred and I'm extremely surprised.
    Now that that's out of the way, I think reading is such a life-changing hobby. Reading and Walking are the two things that just completely fixed my mental health and made me actually feel like I am getting to know myself. It feels like being a kid again.
    The hardest part of reading is the fear of "wasting time", but I've noticed that every time I think that then read, it never feels like a waste afterwards. I figure that I need a break no matter what, and I'd rather happily read than scroll on CZcams...
    Do you have advice on what to do when it comes to reading multiple books at the same time? Habit-wise, do you personally find it better to finish one then start another, or have you found a way to keep the fire alive (for love of reading) while switching between books?

    • @firsthundredapp
      @firsthundredapp  Před měsícem +2

      Thanks for the kind words 👍 For me personally I’ve never tried reading multiple books at once. I read one, then only when I finish it would I move onto the next books. Something that might help is differentiating the time / space you read. For example, reading self help in the morning or reading fiction at night. To me, I only read one book at a time so this is my best guess towards keeping the flame alive for reading multiple books at once.

      I tried audio books too. But i feel like physical book helps to keep focus glued to the book and make you more patient becaus audio book has the bad side of getting your focus away becaus of one notification, or other desires. But of course if you can make your self listen and take notes without any issue then it's fine.

    I kind of disagree with the whole go into a room and specific space with specific room to read a book just because it ends up being so many steps to make something happen. I found that the best way to start a habit us to find the quickest and easiest way to do it and do that.

  • @Cristian-he5bk

    I think the most importan thing when you read is having fun when you are actually reading.
    Thinking "I want to read X books a year" is bad because you are more focused in completing the book that enjoying it.
    A very good trick is to borrow books from the library. In mine you have to return them in a month, so this way you ensure that you read at least one book a month.
    Another thing I do to force myself to read and see my friends at the same time is have a book club. That way you already have to read another book a month (there are already two) and you have an excuse + talking topic to meet friends that is more difficult for whatever reason.
    The best thing is that doing it this way is very fun, free, you ensure two books to read a month and it is very easy to follow the habit.
