Honestly, this does not apply only to Audi. If you spent 5 hours getting to something, might as well replace other small stuff there. $85 is not worth spending 5 hours disassembling it again.
Before we get all crazy I just wanted to let everyone know that 1) YES, I was really pulled over 2) The car wasn't registered so when they ran the VIN and it came up as an out of state car a whole bunch of red flags went off. Rightfully so. Big fat oof on my part.

That's the problem with police. They think you need to prove your innocence and they don't want to do any work to find out if you are guilty. Not carrying plates is a violation but the police want to also punish you for the inconvenience of them having to prove your innocence as far as vehicle theft goes.

All "pulling over right away" means is that you don't get extra charges like resisting arrest added to your record. I've seen many videos of people immediately pulling over and still having crap tons of drugs in their car. Just because they didn't run away doesn't mean they're completely innocent.

You are quite right. Where I come from, police call it 'cooling-off'. The stolen car is usually parked in plain sight, it might not be the most crowded place, but it's definitely not hidden. It sits there from few hours to few days, while car thieves keep an eye on it, also observing how 'hot' the circumstances are. If they notice that the car doesn't attract too much attention, police don't run back and forth to find it, they decide to relocate it to their safe place.
Lol literally the only thing I know about cars is how to drive them and put a few fluids in them but this is one of my favorite channels to watch rn🤣🤣🤣 rich you deserve a television series

It may be hard to believe because of the usual rhetoric, but he may not have even looked at the driver until he had already pulled him over. He may have just seen a supercar without plates and god known what else not properly attached hooning around and thought, hmm that seems a bit suspicious.
@@DrExcess It is the officers job to pull over a vehicle not displaying proper registration. However suspicions that the vehicle was stolen seems absurd given the circumstance.
If he truly suspected him of committing grand theft auto then he should have affected an arrest. Instead of impounding the vehicle.

Rich could have easily given the cops a run for their money in the RS7, but Rich would have no chance on foot in his sandals. It was good decision to pull over and surrender. This was one of the best cliff hangers on CZcams in a long time! I'm all on the edge of my seat waiting for the next episode of Audi RS7, hopefully someone will come up with Rich's bail money soon.

Facts
I have a 2010 Dodge Charger that I wanted to do some upgrades on, and the dealer told me that there is no way I can add things to the car like garage door opener, bluetooth, etc. I jumped in anyway, got lots of things turned on utilizing some software found on the web. I had to bring the car in for an airbag issue, and the techs were amazed that I had done all the stuff to the car. just goes to show that where there is a will, there is a way.

Rich didn’t register the car. The VIN came back as belonging to the previous owner. It was Rich’s fault, and the “moron cop” did his job.

The cop should have stuck to the facts. The vehicle had no plates. It was registered out of state. That gives grounds to confiscate it and so I am doing so.

Nathaniel Reid I worked in local government with law enforcement as a fire fighter for 11 years. I am well aware of the public’s perception of law enforcement. Still doesn’t change the fact that without any knowledge of the situation, without checking any paperwork, without allowing Rich to prove anything he jumped to the conclusion that it was stolen. This could have been handled a number of different ways. The idea of innocent until PROVEN guilty doesn’t really apply I guess.
Yes in the end it was Rich’s fault with the plate and it being unregistered, doesn’t mean anyone has to like the behavior.
